Alex frowned when he heard that familiar voice. It was sweet and tempting, and the way Eve called him made him think that she came for a good reason, since she sounded so shy.

Alex didn’t immediately answer. He waited for Eve to knock once more.

Knock. Knock.

"Alex? Mm... I guess I’ll head back now."

"Come in," Alex said before Eve could leave. His gut feeling told him that he would regret this night forever if he didn’t let her inside his study, even if he was not in the best of mood right now.

There was no answer from outside, so he thought that Eve had left, until the door suddenly clicked, and opened slowly.

The door was already halfway open, and Alex was waiting expectantly for Eve to walk in.

However, the first thing he saw was her smooth and beautiful leg, peeking from the door as she walked in. The way Alex could see up to her thighs made him realize that Eve was probably not wearing much garment right now, and he held his breath as his heart started to beat faster.

Meanwhile, Eve’s heartbeat had been beating like a drum the whole time, to the point that it might burst out of her chest anytime soon.

She was so nervous about doing this,

She clenched the bathrobe covering her body until she stood before him.

Eve kicked the door behind her to shut it. She would’ve died out of embarrassment if one of the butlers or maids saw her like this.

Eve stood in front of Alex, who was sitting on his chair. Separated by a mahogany desk, Alex leaned on his chair, but his cold, blue eyes were fixed on her.

Eve couldn’t read what was in his mind right now. The last time she did this was two years ago. The lust in his eyes would be too obvious to hide, and he would pounce on her immediately like a starving wolf ready to eat his meal.

But right now, his darkened gaze was full of complicated feelings that Eve couldn’t describe and refused to acknowledge.

She was scared that one of those complicated feelings was disgust.

Eve’s hand, which clenched the bathrobe, started shaking as the nervousness got into her. She began to regret doing this, but since she had already faced Alex, she decided to push forward.

She knew there was no going back after this. It was like taking a bite of a forbidden apple called remembrance, as she knew having sex with him would trigger all of the beautiful memories in the past.

Eve took another deep breath, and her hands stopped shaking. She stared straight at him with her hazel-colored eyes, filled with shyness and seduction.

"A-about us..." Eve murmured. "W-we won’t be able to move forward with our contract if we keep fighting like this. Didn’t you bring me here for a specific reason?"

Alex’s gaze deepened, but there was not a sliver of a smile on his lips, "To get you pregnant with my child. That’s why I brought you here."

Eve was still not used to how blunt the real Alex was.

The Alex she dated was more sincere, somewhat childish, but very responsible. He always looked at her as if she was his heaven, until everything crumbled down.

"T-then, what are you waiting for?" Eve asked. "I-I thought I’d invited you enough when I was drunk."

"... I prefer to fuck you while you’re fully sober. So, you know whom you’re making love with," Alex got up from his chair. He walked around his table to stand in front of Eve, but rather than touching her, he leaned on the table instead, observing her from head to toe.

"I am sober now..." Eve murmured. She felt hot all over her body under Alex’s complicated gaze. Lust began to swirl in his eyes as he locked his gaze on her cleavage.

"Are you willing?" Alex asked.

Eve nodded weakly. She was too embarrassed to say more. She had never been shy to anyone, not to that fake Alex she dated for five years, and not to Pierre.
