Alex stared at her with his cold blue eyes, observing her true intention. He was trying his absolute hardest to control the beast raging inside of him. If he could follow his instinct, he wanted to rip her dress and quickly taste her entire body.

But he knew their situation wasn’t ideal.

They weren’t a couple anymore.

They were just in a business deal, so there was no more fun drunken night that led to sex. It was all serious, and he was damn sure that Eve would regret sleeping with him while drunk when the morning came.

Despite knowing all this, his logic started corroding when Eve kept rubbing his bulge with her knee. He gritted his teeth and snapped, "Stop that, Eve! You’re making it hard for me!"

Eve wasn’t scared at all. They had been playing this game for a long time, and she knew what kind of man Alex was.

He might have that arrogant and aloof persona as an actor on the big screen, or a sophisticated gentleman as the CEO of his dad’s company.

"Everything," Alex replied. "I am crazy about everything about you. You’re making me insane, Evelyn."

"Really?" Eve smiled sincerely. She might be drunk, but this relief in her heart made her feel at ease, so she said, "Then you’re also my insanity. Because you’re making me do things I shouldn’t—mmh!"

Alex sealed her lips with another kiss, while his hands began to wrap around her curvy waist.

Despite his eagerness, he was still trying to find that last trace of logic inside his mind. He knew that Eve would regret this in the morning, and they were still not officially dating right now.

He gazed at Eve, who was out of breath.

"You are truly beautiful, Evelyn," Alex murmured. "You’re so perfect that I want to lock you up in this place, so we can’t be separated."

"You don’t need to lock me up, husband. I am already yours to begin with."

Alex gritted his teeth.

His heart was hurting, because he knew this was her true feelings. Yet at the same time, the angry and defensive attitude she showed when she was sober was also her true feelings.

"I don’t want to make you hate me even more than you already are."

"Why should I hate you?"

"For lying to you about... everything," Alex muttered softly, almost inaudible. "I am sorry."

Eve suddenly went quiet after hearing that. She kept staring at Alex for a long time before a drop of tears flowed from the corner of her eye.

"Why are you so cruel to me, Alex?" Eve asked. "Do you hate me so much that you’re lying to me?!"

"No, no, Sweetheart. I love you too much, that’s why I keep hiding things from you!" Alex said desperately, like a man who was scared to lose his treasure for the second time.

"You’re a lying scumbag!" Eve yelled while crying. However, she didn’t try to push him away like she would normally do when she was sober.

Instead, she kept clinging to his neck and said in a trembling voice, "But why can’t I let you go, Alex? Why do I keep thinking that I should forgive you? I don’t understand."

Alex said nothing, knowing if he kept begging for her forgiveness, she would probably explode.

"You should go to sleep, Sweetheart. You’re drunk," Alex coaxed. "We can have fun when you’re sober."

"Mm... sleep with me then," Eve said. "It’s been a while since we slept together. I want to feel my man’s warmth."

Alex nodded, "I will be by your side for tonight..."

"Mm... that’s good..." Eve smiled, and she finally let go of her hands.

Alex slowly fell to her side and spooned her from behind. He used his arm for Eve to lay her head on, just like when they were still dating.

Alex took a deep breath to get the scent coming from her nape.

One thing he liked about Eve was her habit of not spraying perfume on her nape, so he could still find her natural scent, which he liked so much.
