Chapter 229: 193. Big Dog Liu Xin’an (Please subscribe! Please vote for monthly ticket!)
The busiest day of Chinese New Year’s Eve had come to an end, and the following days—New Year’s Day, the second day, and even the third and fourth days—were not at all strenuous.
The New Year’s holidays were meant for resting, not for busying oneself with socializing. Liu Zhengjiang didn’t dislike socializing, but he specifically despised having to entertain during the holidays.
So, apart from playing host to a crowd on New Year’s Day, he spent the following days from the second to the fourth at home with his wife and children.
Well... of course, Liu Zhengjiang thought his approach was rather manly, but neither Park Jinsuk nor Liu Xin’an really needed his company.
Even when he came back home, he was either busy working in his study or sitting on the sofa watching TV.
Worth mentioning is that the family spoke Korean these few days to accommodate Bae Juhyun, only switching to Chinese on the rare occasion when Li Chenglu’s parents came to visit. This atmosphere allowed Bae Juhyun to quickly adjust and relax.
Time flew by, and before they knew it, it was the fifth day of the new year, five days since Bae Juhyun had arrived.
The past five days had been quite torturous for Bae Juhyun, not because Liu Xin’an’s family hadn’t been kind to her, but rather, they were too kind, which overwhelmed her.
Then there was the food.
After four days of New Year’s feasting, Bae Juhyun finally understood why her boyfriend had such a complex expression upon seeing the table full of dishes on New Year’s Eve.
Was the meat delicious? Yes, it was.
Were the pickles delicious? They were too.
But after eating them for three or four days straight, one really couldn’t take it anymore.
After every meal, Bae Juhyun would be on tenterhooks, fearing she had exceeded her weight limit.
Fortunately, she had a strong sense of self-discipline, so her weight remained within a controllable range for now.
"Is eleven o’clock tomorrow morning okay?"
Bae Juhyun looked down at her phone, browsing for tomorrow’s flight tickets. After a long search, she found a flight that was suitable both in timing and price, and asked Liu Xin’an, who was playing games in front of the computer.
"Whatever works, you decide."
This noncommittal response made Bae Juhyun frown. Yes or no, he never gave a straight answer.
It could make her happy when she was left to make decisions, but if he was always so vague, she would end up confused.
So, she stood in front of Liu Xin’an with a stern face.
The computer screen displayed a game she couldn’t understand... Here she was, a stunning beauty full of charm sitting beside him, yet he was glued to his screen?
How was she inferior to that flat screen?!
Bae Juhyun placed her phone in front of Liu Xin’an, then crossed her arms and stood behind him, staring at him with a stern face.
After a few seconds, Liu Xin’an, engrossed in his game, finally sensed something was amiss. He glanced back, realized his girlfriend was standing less than two steps away with a cold face, and then it clicked.
He quit the game immediately, got up with a beaming smile, and then reached out to hug Bae Juhyun.
Which was deftly dodged by Bae Juhyun.
"You’re not on a live stream, why keep playing non-stop?"
Typically, turning a hobby into a job would become quite painful, wouldn’t it?
She did enjoy the stage at the beginning of her career, but as time went on, she found it more and more troublesome.
Of course, finding it troublesome didn’t mean she would slack off on stage; she always gave her all, but there’s a difference between working hard with joy and working hard while irritated.
In response to Bae Juhyun’s question, Liu Xin’an actually had his own answer.
"It’s like how you, Juhyun, go to the company to practice every day before a concert. If I don’t play games often, I’ll get rusty, and it’ll affect my streaming performance!"
He answered seriously, not blushing at all because of his lie.
However, Bae Juhyun was not so easily fooled. She looked at her boyfriend with a light smile, "These past two days, I’ve been reading comments from your fans; they all say your gameplay is getting worse."
Practice?
Who gets worse with practice?!
He must be lying.
Bae Juhyun’s remark instantly broke through Liu Xin’an’s defenses. He grabbed his girlfriend’s phone, ignoring the flight booking app and switching straight to the backend of his streaming platform.
He was set on revenge; he had to find out which jerk posted that comment.
"Ah! Buy the tickets first, don’t mess with other stuff."
Bae Juhyun didn’t mind Liu Xin’an looking through her phone—there was nothing she couldn’t let others, especially Liu Xin’an, see.
But get the important tasks done first!
"No, let me find that damned mole first, I need to block him!"
"Stop fooling around, will you."
Bae Juhyun was amused by Liu Xin’an’s childish side; she could quite understand the feeling.
It’s like someone saying her stage performance was mediocre right to her face.
Having one’s professional skills doubted always stirs up frustration and anger.
It was the same for her and for Liu Xin’an.
"Can we buy the tickets first, please~"
She wrapped her arms around her boyfriend’s waist, affectionately rubbing her delicate cheek against his chest.
Before meeting Liu Xin’an, Bae Juhyun never considered herself to be particularly coquettish. On variety shows in the past, when the hosts asked her to act cute, she would comply with difficulty and, after finishing the task, shyly hide behind her group members.
