Catastrophe Card King -
Chapter 1539 - Chapter 1539 Chapter 470 Witch Lancelot
Chapter 1539: Chapter 470 Witch Lancelot Chapter 1539: Chapter 470 Witch Lancelot Leonard Churchill sighed as he watched the scene unfold before him, “This is troublesome… It seems like there’s no chance left, does it?”
“Jessica’s” tainted blood has contaminated the Sun Wheel. Without this critical Plot Item, these First Order Trialists stand no chance at all.
Leonard couldn’t help but grumble inwardly.
There was a chance to clear this S-tier plot, but now, in his calculations, the probability of success was almost nonexistent.
Alas, it’s a pity for his own avatar.
He’d also dragged down a few pretty good teammates.
It really confirms what Mushroomhead used to say: “The universe has its laws; order prevails in forty-nine out of fifty, chaos occupies one.”
Sometimes, no matter how much you calculate, you just can’t account for luck.
Who would have known that an Archbishop from the Holy Church would suddenly emerge from their team?
Leonard speculated that “Jessica” might have been a tactic by the Holy Church to control power.
Such hidden agents are scattered throughout the Three Royal Families and various nobilities.
Usually, there’s no need to activate such a sleeper agent.
Unfortunately, just this time in the Trial Space, they stumbled upon the Forbidden Ruins Stele, coincidentally encountering remnants of the Sect of Light…
For Leonard, this wasn’t an issue of his own capabilities–it was more like being defeated by that elusive destiny.
He had done his best within the limits of his abilities.
The situation was beyond control.
Lying on the ground, Leonard looked into the distance, his mind still frantically strategizing.
Trying to see if there was a slim chance of survival.
…
“Damn it!”
Far away, Red Dragon Princess Sophia watched as the Sun Wheel above was corrupted. A flash of shock vanished from her pale face, replaced by a look of determination.
She hadn’t planned to give up just yet.
A hint of sunlight pierced through the clouds above, shining upon her.
At that moment, Sophia bit down on her silver teeth and activated a card.
In an instant, her fiery red hair suddenly turned golden, and golden dragon scales appeared on her skin.
Under the sunlight, her whole body began to shimmer with a golden light.
“Going all out?”
Leonard, lying on the ground, watched curiously.
She was clearly a Red Dragon Bloodline, yet now she had transformed into a Golden Dragon?
Her bloodline purity was extremely high, which was taboo among the Three Royal Families.
This appeared to be the most crucial reason for her acceptance by the Sun Disc.
Sophia had undergone a Beast Transformation, her aura greatly enhanced, and she fiercely shot a Holy Light Dragon’s Breath into the sky.
The Dragon Breath instantly diluted the Blood Mist, and Holy Light descended again, scorching the Vampires who howled in pain.
However, the good times didn’t last long. After Sophia’s Dragon Breath ended, the dark mist once again covered the Sun Disc.
The vast Sealed Space instantly dimmed.
The Vampires’ scalded skin, too, quickly healed in the darkness.
Vampire leader Isabel saw that strand of Holy Light on Sophia’s body and knew that she temporarily couldn’t kill this human protected by Holy Light, so she ordered her subordinates: “You go kill her! I will break the Seal!”
The Vampires had always targeted the Seal, in order to unlock ‘Crimson Corruption Seyadis’.
Seeing the Vampires charge toward her, Sophia anxiously called out to her two nearby teammates, “Hold off those Vampires for me! I’ll try one last Secret Skill!”
Out of the dozen or so people from the Red Dragon Royal Family who had entered, besides her, only three were still alive.
Two stood dressed in Heavy Armored Black Knight gear, and one assassin was severely wounded on the ground.
Though they knew the chances of holding them off were nearly zero, they still didn’t give up.
As they spoke, their hands shone brightly with Holy Light, and they threw various Vampire-countering Holy Water and Holy light cards all at once.
The area briefly lit up with blinding white light.
But in a flash, the assassin on the ground had his neck twisted by a Vampire.
The two Black Knights, clad in their glittering Exorcising Armor, managed to withstand a few more hits but were merely struggling to hold on.
With this dynamic, they couldn’t hold off the seven or eight Vampires.
Princess Sophia knew this, and although she hadn’t given up her last hope, despair had already emerged in her eyes.
…
“Ah, well…”
Laying on the ground feigning death, Leonard watched this unfold and sighed deeply.
He had strategized for a while but still couldn’t find any hope to break through.
Now it seemed that the slim chance still lay with the people of the Red Dragon Royal Family.
If they were defeated, this trial would truly be over.
Since his avatar was bound to die anyway, Leonard decided to try and help in the end, at least he could stall for a moment.
But alone, it was impossible.
With that thought, Leonard quietly took out a sealed book from his Storage Ring.
He prepared to decipher the sealed part of the persona in “Allen”.
This process would take a few seconds.
However, what Leonard didn’t expect was, before he could begin, he suddenly heard a “snap” of breaking through the air, an agile shadow fearlessly charged towards the Vampires.
Upon closer look, it was David!
He had briefly fainted, but hadn’t been unconscious for too long.
And during that period, he had miraculously understood Leonard’s “feign death strategy.”
Originally lying down feigning death, if only they could withstand until the people of the Red Dragon Royal Family broke through this S-tier plot, they could survive.
But with things developing as such, David knew if he didn’t do something, everyone would die there.
