Chapter 1075 - Chapter 1075 Chapter 330 Seven Catastrophes Monarchs_2
Chapter 1075: Chapter 330 Seven Catastrophes Monarchs_2 Chapter 1075: Chapter 330 Seven Catastrophes Monarchs_2 The two sides remained silent for a moment.
Camilla ultimately couldn’t bear to watch the elderly person kneeling on the ground for so long and spoke up, “Senior, please stand up.”
The old woman seemed entrenched in a particular mindset, stubbornly insisting, “This old servant is but a mere remnant soul guarding the Ancestral Tomb, unworthy of such treatment from Your Majesty… ”
Leonard Churchill: “…”
Tracy Garcia: “…”
Camilla: “…”
The three of them collectively fell silent.
Viewing the courtly etiquette from three thousand years ago through the lens of the Federation Era was truly somewhat incomprehensible.
The old woman not only looked like a zombie that had crawled out of a grave, but her thoughts also reeked of decay. Yet her three-thousand-year dedication to her duty alone was enough to command the trio’s solemn respect.
Knowing she could not convince the woman otherwise, Camilla carefully organized her language, still using honorifics, and said again, “Then… please rise.”
Hearing this, the old woman finally stood up, “Yes, Your Majesty.”
Leonard watched from the side, his eyes brimming with sharp light.
Who the legitimate successor to the Augustus kingship was could be discussed later.
In the current situation, thanks to the arrival of this Mysterious Person, it seemed as if all predicaments had been smoothly resolved.
Before coming here, Leonard had already mentally prepared himself for a place that would inevitably be more dangerous than the Mad King’s Tomb.
And it was indeed the case.
Just this Tomb Guardian who had lived for three thousand years was enough to stop everything in its tracks.
It was also thanks to Tracy and Camilla; otherwise, Leonard felt that even if he were several tiers higher, he still wouldn’t be able to encounter such a figure that had entered history.
At the same time, Leonard’s anticipation grew.
If the Mad King’s Tomb contained so many Supreme Treasures, then what about the Augustus Ancestral Tomb?
Leonard’s interest in those treasures wasn’t about getting rich off them.
He was interested in the dust-covered history and the secrets of the Transcendent realm.
All the emperors of the Taren Dynasty were buried here, so how many secrets must be buried as well?
Was the founding emperor “Lanlingster M. Augustus” also buried here?
Furthermore, what exactly had happened to the Taren Dynasty in those days?
With a living witness to history, weren’t all the questions the three of them had been discussing along the way now answerable by someone?
Thinking of this, Leonard also marveled at the wonders of fate.
With the current situation, there was basically no need for him to explore on his own; following along would suffice.
As for safety, traps, mechanisms, and Restrictions… these were now all worry-free as well.
If the Mysterious Person had any malice, there was utterly no need for any other measures; the Enchanted Forest alone was enough to trap them.
Camilla glanced at Leonard, guessed his thoughts, and went straight to the point, “Senior, I would like to go see the Ancestral Spirit…”
The old woman agreed without hesitation: “Of course. The existence of the Ancestral Tomb is for the continuation of the Augustus Royal Family’s lineage. Your Majesty, there are things this old servant should hand over to you.”
With that, she leaned on her cane and led the three of them deeper into the dense fog, “Your Majesty, please follow this old servant.”
…
The three followed the old woman deep into the Enchanted Forest.
Before long, they had walked out of the mist.
The Undead Air around them had become so thick it was like porridge, creating a bone-piercing chill as they entered.
It was fortunate that Leonard and his companions each had extraordinary abilities.
Otherwise, just this Undead Air would be enough to prevent any ordinary Adventurer from advancing even a step.
Leonard considered the environment and said to himself, “This really is an excellent place for cultivation…”
He could absorb any Elements, and practicing here would undoubtedly be several times more efficient than elsewhere.
However, looking at these living conditions, he wondered just how powerful this Mysterious Person must be to be a living Undead?
They walked about a kilometer or two, seemingly entering inside some kind of Barrier.
Scattered around, they began to see some hard stones.
These were the Asgard Divine Stones.
He had seen these before in the tomb.
The stones were very fragmented, looking like the leftovers of some stonemason’s carvings.
Leonard initially thought they would head directly to a special tomb.
However, after walking for a while, the old woman leading the way suddenly stopped and apologized to Camilla, “I’m sorry, Your Majesty… This place is not meant for the living, hence the desolation. Please forgive the poor accommodations… ”
As she spoke, she waved her cane, and it seemed like some sort of perceptual-disruption Restriction vanished.
Only then did Leonard and the others truly see the scene before them.
The surroundings looked like a quarry, very rudimentary.
Apart from a small hut made from piled up stone fragments, there were no other buildings.
This was the dwelling of the Tomb Guardian.
While the stones being Asgard Divine Stones did not surprise Leonard,
the numerous mysterious symbols densely carved onto these stones did.
They looked like religious scriptures, not just characters but containing vast and mysterious content.
Yet they were neither in the Ancient Taron Language found in the tombs, nor the Demon’s language, nor from any known mystical symbol system of Curse scripts.
Leonard attempted to make out what the symbols were.
But just by glancing at them, it was as if the symbols crowded forward in his vision, flooding into his mind like a breaking dam, causing a momentary freeze in thought.
“High-order information beyond cognition!”
Having been trained by Master Merlin before, Leonard recognized this sensation.
Realizing something was amiss, he quickly diverted his gaze.
Camilla and Tracy, being of higher tier, were in a much better state,
but they, too, had noticed an issue with the symbols carved on the stone stele.
