Chapter 113: Barbara’s Real Motive

Two friends now sit in silence as they contemplate their life. Both were very different people when they were young, but now, they seem to be living a very similar life.

They don’t know how to feel about it.

"It’s not like I regret ever dating Stewart as my daughter was born from it, but I could have held off on the marriage, you know," Megan suddenly speaks.

"I understand," Barbara says.

"No, you don’t. You didn’t have a choice. Your son was born after you married your husband. I, on the other hand, had a choice. All my family members warned me and told me not to marry Stewart, but I didn’t listen," Megan complains.

Barbara can feel the frustration in Megan’s voice.

"Hey, what’s done is done. You cannot go back and fix it. Look at the positive side. You live in a nice house in an affluent neighborhood. Many people don’t even get a fraction of what you have," Barbara tries to comfort her.

"Remember Stacy?" Barbara asks. "Stacy who?" Megan is confused. "Stacy, the girl that used to date Brad. The one that was super jealous of you because he broke up with her to chase after you," Barbara clarifies.

"Oh, now I remember," Megan says as she remembers Stacy and Brad. She found them very annoying back in the day.

"Well, she got addicted to drugs and died of an overdose," Barbara says. "Oh, my god!" Megan exclaims at the horrible news.

"See, that’s what I am saying. People can end up way worse. Compared to them, you are living the life of a queen," Barbara says.

Though Barbara tried to comfort her in a very weird way, Megan still found it comforting. She realizes that her friend has remained the same all these years. Even back then, she would give weird examples to make her point.

"Hahahaha," Megan starts laughing and Barbara joins her.

"You know, for a woman who is complaining about how shitty her life is, you are glowing. Look at you, I don’t see a single wrinkle on her face. Your skin is glowing. You look like you are still in your twenties," Barbara says. "What’s your secret?" she then asks.

"Well..." Megan contemplates whether she should speak about it or not. She knows why she is glowing, it’s because of Amon. Ever since meeting with Amon, her life now has color.

She then looks at Barbara and sees her wearing her makeup, a very skimpy dress, and from the looks of it, she is not wearing anything underneath it as she can see her areola peeking out from the edge of her top.

Megan knows why Barbara is here. She is here to get fucked by Amon, and though Megan wants to be mad and offended by it; she is not. For some reason, when it comes to Amon, she seems to be willing to do anything.

"Well?" Barbara questions with a curious look on her face.

"Well... I am cheating on Stewart," Megan confesses. The room goes silent once again as Barbara looks at Megan, wide-eyed.

"With whom?" Barbara asks and gets a little excited. She is not new to cheating as she has done it many times, but to learn that Megan, who wouldn’t even flirt with the idea of sex before marriage, is now cheating on her husband, is something exciting.

Megan doesn’t answer and only gives her the "look". "What? Who?" Barbara asks again as she looks at Megan’s expression. Megan once again gives her the "look", telling her to understand.

"No..?" Barbara questions and Megan nods her head. "Nooo!" Barbara exclaims as she realizes what is happening. Megan nods her head once again.

"Oh, my god. Megan, it’s not what you think it is," Barbara tries to explain but is stopped.

"No need to explain. Look at you. Your hair is done, you are wearing a very skimpy dress and you aren’t wearing anything underneath, plus you told me you came to fix things. No mother is going to meet her child’s teacher all alone at their house unless they plan to do it," Megan says, looking Barbara in her eyes.

"I am so sorry. I didn’t know." Barbara tries to come up with something but she is hitting blank.

"Like I said, don’t worry about it. I am fine with it," Megan says and sips her wine.

"Wait, you are not mad?" Barbara asks, confused.

"I should be mad, right? But I am not. I don’t know what it is with him. His presence feels so big and I am not talking physically. He feels unreachable even though he lives right upstairs, so just being a little part of him and having his attention makes me feel very happy," Megan confesses.

"Plus, the way he touches me makes me forget everything around me and only think about him," She continues.

"I think I understand what you mean. When I met him, I was just flirting with him, but before I knew it, I was spreading my legs for a complete stranger. I have never been so open to anyone else," Barbara says.

"Ya, he has that effect on women," Megan says and chuckles.

"So it won’t be a problem if I sleep with him?" Barbara asks. "No, I don’t mind, plus he already has multiple lovers. And even if I had a problem with it, it wouldn’t be up to me to decide," Megan says.

"Woah, is he controlling?" Barbara asks. "No, not at all. You will know what I mean when you start hanging out with him," Megan says.

"Can’t wait," Barbara lets out an awkward chuckle. "So, have you both done it already?" Megan asks catching Barbara off guard, but seeing that Megan is serious Barbara nods her head.

"Yes..." Barbara answers. "So you aren’t here to fix your son’s problem, are you?" Megan asks teasingly.

"What are you talking about?" Barbara gets defensive. "Come on, I know the effect Amon has on women. Admit it that you are more interested in seeing Amon than talking about your son’s problem with him," Megan points out Barbara’s motive, which is very blatant to her.

"Is it that obvious?" Barbara asks and as Megan is about to answer, the doorbell rings.

"Who could it be?" Megan murmurs and walks up to the door and opens it.
