"I’m actually here for you-" Chris said hesitantly, looking him over like he couldn’t believe his eyes.

"Me?" Caspian forced laughter, "What does the High Council want with me?"

"Well, it’s more with Caspian Mendez..."

"Who?" He interrupted loudly, moving his weight from one foot to another anxiously. "M-My name is Cassia."

Lucy face-palmed where she stood just outside the door. Caspian was such a terrible liar that his flawless disguise might not be able to help him.

"My apologies, Miss Cassia," The representative bowed slightly, "But you’ll have to come with me."

"I’m not going anywhere," Caspian said coldly, fighting the urge to take a step back.

"No, No, I’m just taking you to Mafia King Asher," Chris explained in a rush, worried that Cassia had misunderstood him. "My partners are with him. It’s merely to confirm that we indeed have the wrong person."

Caspian looked nervously in the direction of the open bedroom door, Lucy quick to give him a silent thumbs up, and a reassuring smile.

"Fine," He agreed, going silent so that he didn’t say the wrong thing.

Chris wiped the sweat from his brow, wondering how things had completely gone awry.

It was supposed to be an easy job, storm in and rescue the captive heir.

He had expected to find a bruised and chained-up Alpha, and not at all the Omega in front of him.

Now that he thought about it, he hadn’t been told the secondary gender of the Moonstone heir.

But regardless of that, there was no mistaking that Mafia King Asher had bought a woman and not the heir.

Caspian followed after the man in the suit, his legs surprisingly steady considering that his knees were trembling.

Two men walked up to them when they stepped out of the mansion.

"We’ve been directed to accompany you," The taller one said calmly, his voice leaving no room for disagreements.

Chris looked like he might like to protest but the realization that he was in a Mafia King’s home and surrounded on every side sank in.

"Very well," He confidently accepted, his voice loud to hide how shaken he was.

Caspian ended up sitting in the backseat with the man from the High Council, the two men who had insisted on accompanying them sitting in front.

It was relieving to have them accompany him because he had this irrational fear that Chris had seen right through the dress he wore, and that he would be taken to Moonstone instead of Asher.

"So what got you to this point?" Chris struck up a conversation a few minutes into the journey.

Caspian slowly turned to the side and shot him a scathing look.

The High Council representative probably knew nothing about the life he led before coming to Haines but that probably didn’t matter to him.

"I’m not your enemy," Chris continued quietly at his cold silence. "The High Council could solve all your problems-"

Caspian highly doubted that, if they were sent here by Alpha Warren - which they definitely were - he doubted they could help him.

He didn’t want their help, to begin with, he was content with Asher... well mostly content.

"No, thank you," He curtly turned down the representative’s offer, looking out the dark window to end the conversation.

No matter what was going on between him and Asher, the difference between the Mafia King and Moonstone was that, Asher had given him a choice.

The sight of Jael waiting in the parking lot was calming, he welcomed the Beta helping him down from the car, sticking to his side.

"Where are my partners?" Chris asked with narrowed eyes.

"With Mafia King Asher," Jael supplied unhelpfully, letting Caspian hold onto his arm.

"Take me to them," He demanded, the suspicion never leaving his eyes.

Jael nodded and led the way, getting a proper look at Caspian.

He could see how they had easily been deceived at first, the male Omega effortlessly embodied both genders.

He led them through the club again, by now, most of the patrons had been cleared out.

It would get doubly messy if there were bystanders when something went wrong.

Caspian kept up easily even though he wore heels, and he could feel the Omega’s cold hands through his shirt.

Jael opened the door without bothering to knock - which in hindsight was probably a bad idea.

Because if the representatives had said or done something stupid and gotten themselves killed, there would be no time to do damage control.

This was the one time he trusted Asher not to be his usual impulsive self though, and it paid off.

The tension in the room was thick enough to shoot through but everyone was unharmed and that was more than enough.

At the sight of Asher, Caspian let him go and walked right over to the Mafia King.

Jael would pay a lot of money to get the chance to take a picture of the looks on the representatives’ faces.

They were slack-jawed, watching in disbelief as Caspian sat on Mafia King Asher like he belonged there.

A vein ticked on Asher’s jaw as he stared down the representatives, "What was that again about me capturing an heir?"

Lance who always had something to say was speechless now, staring blankly at Caspian like he was seeing an apparition.

"Your bought Omega looks rather familiar," The third representative was the one to break the silence.

Chris stood on the fringes of the conversation, he had already experienced the shock of seeing the Mafia King’s property.

He still wondered why she had turned down his offer to rescue her from the criminal who had bought her like she was an object.

Maybe the men in the car had been more to monitor her. He could try to get her alone and make the offer again.

"What claims do you have now?" Asher asked coldly, "That I have the heir’s twin sister?"

The representative had nothing to say to that, there was no way to explain why the bought Omega in question looked startlingly like the heir they were sent to find.

It had to be a strange coincidence...
