Captive Mate BL -

Chapter 45: +Chapter 45+
Caspian let the tension bleed out of his shoulders, he really didn’t have a say here.
"Fine," He agreed with a reluctant sigh.
Jael rose to his feet at that, "I’ll have the men take you there," He explained.
Caspian mimicked his movements, "Should I be worried about Mafia King Nikolai?"
Jael’s expression shuttered at his question, "No."
"Very convincing," Caspian muttered under his breath.
He was still upset with Jael for not letting him see Asher, and now that he didn’t have to worry about his crushing secret, he spoke freely.
"Go with them," Jael pointed at the tall muscled men standing in the hallway.
He started walking toward them only to stop halfway, and turn around to look at Jael. "I didn’t take my phone."
The Beta had been the one to tell him that he needed to have the phone on him at all time.
"Just..." Jael bit back a frustrated groan, "I’ll get you a new one."
That answer temporarily satisfied Caspian, he obediently went to the men who struggled to keep a straight face as they led the way out.
He couldn’t say if it was because of the splash of blood on his arm or the fact that he no longer pitched his voice higher.
Caspian wore the bunny slippers, uncaring that they were indoor shoes. He wasn’t about to put on heels.
He got in the back seat of the car, staring through the tinted windows at the mansion.
His brow was furrowed in worry, he knew there was a lot Jael wasn’t telling him.
Actually, Jael had told him nothing, he hadn’t given him a single explanation.
Asher was a danger to him...
He already knew that, he wasn’t stupid. Mafia King Nikolai was just as dangerous, even Jael wasn’t any better.
Caspian knew Asher was dangerous, but he still wanted the Alpha to kiss him, so where did that leave him?
He sank into the leather seats of the car with a sigh, a dull throbbing in his shoulder.
Maybe he needed to stay away from Asher for a couple days, it was possible that he had started to go insane from the pressure he had been under.
The seat was cool against his bare thighs, his already short skirt riding up higher, and it hit him then just how much he missed wearing pants.
The journey was longer than he expected and by the time the car pulled up in front of a picturesque little apartment, his stomach had started to rumble.
The apartment had a white picket fence just like the rows of similar houses nearby but something was odd, it was almost empty.
In a neighborhood such as this, he expected to see children on the streets and people seated on porches.
But there was barely anyone walking down the streets, and although there were cars parked in the other houses, it still looked out of place.
The apartment he was given was fully furnished and spotless, and he found that he couldn’t complain about the house provided for him.
"Uh..." One of the men nervously scratched his head.
He stood at the doorway like he was wary of stepping in, instinctively hunched over so he didn’t catch his skull on the edge of the door.
"Do you need anything?"
"Yes, food and clothes." He listed off.
The man nodded and stepped back, closing the door and locking him in.
Caspian just rolled his eyes at that, used to being held captive.
He peeked through the windows and watched the men briefly discuss before they both got in the car and drove off.
He couldn’t believe they left him all alone, he could just leave...
Caspian cut off that train of thought, he had a feeling that Jael would be happy if he did.
It wasn’t that he enjoyed being a prisoner, he just wanted to have a conversation with Asher.
If the Alpha told him to leave, he would do so without question. But he couldn’t explain why he was so worried, it was like an instinctive feeling.
He just knew that... Asher wasn’t doing great at the moment.
But he wasn’t allowed to see him for goodness knows how long.
Caspian stopped spying through the windows and went on a tour of the apartment, it had just a single bedroom, and it would be his dream house if things hadn’t gone south the moment he got to Haines.
The kitchen was completely devoid of food which was no surprise, the closet in the bedroom also empty save for the spare linens and towels stored away.
He sat in the living room and turned on the television, staring right through the flat screen, his thoughts refusing to settle.
Unable to sit still, he was up on his feet again, searching for a back door. He did find one but it was also locked - no surprise there.
The pain in his shoulder flared up, making him grit his teeth. Maybe he should have also asked for painkillers.
He considered napping but before he could put it into action, there was a knock on the door.
Caspian started for the entrance, wondering why they bothered to knock when they had been the ones to lock him in.
He got to the door just as it swung open, the same man who had asked what he needed standing in front of the door with several shopping bags.
Caspian stared at him with wide eyes, had he bought out the entire store??
He dropped off the bags right at the entrance, pulling out a phone from his leather jacket.
"Jael said to give this to you," He handed off the phone to him, taking out keys as well. "Always keep the doors locked."
Caspian took the phone and keys, still having a hard time processing things. It had all happened so fast.
"Thanks," He mumbled, watching the man saunter down the walkway to meet his partner who was waiting beside the car parked outside the fence.
He watched them drive away without a backward glance, holding on to his new possessions in mild surprise.
Caspian couldn’t keep standing in the open doorway forever so he closed the door and did as he was told, locking it securely.
Then he turned to the bags littered on the ground, he had a hell of a busy day ahead of him.
He couldn’t believe it wasn’t even noon yet, so much had happened in the span of a few hours.
The men had been considerate enough to get him takeout because he needed energy to cook.
He ate first, feeling much better afterward. He decided to tackle the foodstuffs first, putting them away in the fridge and cupboards.
Clothes were the last thing on his itinerary, he started on the first of many bags, lifting a piece of fabric that he was having a difficult time comprehending.
The glittery pink string of fabric in his hands was a skirt... they had bought him a skirt.
Caspian cursed under his breath as he upturned all the bags on the bed to make sure they hadn’t bought him outfits that would sit right at home in a sixteen year old girl’s closet.
And he had to say, he was impressed at the range. There was a bit of everything, it was almost like the men hadn’t known what to get him.
He could picture them hunched over in a boutique, stern expressions and guns flashing as they tried to figure out what to get him.
That got a laugh out of Caspian. He couldn’t exactly blame them, he was currently wearing a skirt and he hadn’t given them any instructions.
He was just glad that they had gotten him pants. Besides the clothes were way too many considering he would only be spending a couple of days here.
He took a shower, careful not to get his bandage wet. He got dressed in clean comfortable clothes when he got out, grateful to have proper new clothes.
Caspian couldn’t take a nap, even after putting away all his new clothes and getting on the bed.
The apartment was no different from Asher’s bedroom, he was all alone in both.
Caspian paced from room to room, unable to focus on anything. Now that his worries had rapidly dwindled, he found that he was bored.
He frequently picked up the new phone that Jael had got him, expecting a call or a text from the Beta, or even better, from Asher.
When none of that helped to pass the time faster, he resorted to peeking through the windows to catch glimpses of the people living in the neighborhood.
He did see a couple of people but they always seemed to be in a hurry to get to their destination, staying resolutely indoors. It was like being a part of the witness protection.
Caspian would have gone out regardless of the men’s warnings but he would rather not have to deal with Nikolai.
Especially now that he wasn’t really a bought Omega anymore. He had already been told to leave, he was the one stubbornly refusing to.
