Lady Blackburn didn’t let him though, turning to him while the bartender prepared her order. "Sorry I mistook you for the bartender," She said flippantly without any real feelings behind her words.

"It’s just that I’m pretty good with faces and I couldn’t recognize yours."

"I’m just a plus one," Lake said demurely.

The Omega snapped a finger like that made everything make sense, "That would explain it. So who is your plus one? I’ve been trying to find Davian, we’re supposed to be partners at the festival you know..."

Lake had been gearing to ignore the chatty Omega but his eyes immediately snapped back to her when he heard Davian’s name.

"You know Mafia King Davian, don’t you?" She doubled down, mistaking his reaction for something else.

Lake still didn’t give her a response, very interested in this Omega now. "What did you say your name was?" He asked calmly, ignoring everything else she had said.

"Bella, Lady Bella Blackburn." She introduced proudly, flipping her long blonde hair over a shoulder. "Don’t tell me you haven’t heard of me either?" She gasped in disbelief.

Lake’s expression turned gloomy, distressed, what did this rich, titled, and beautiful Omega have with Davian?

She was a little spoiled but it was clear that she had been pampered her whole life, getting everything she ever wanted - they couldn’t be more different from each other.

Bella paused their conversation there to pick up her drink, turning back to Lake with renewed vigor.

"You don’t stay in Haines, right?" She asked coming up with her own reasons why Lake wouldn’t know who she was.

Lake gave a noncommittal response, still shaken. He didn’t even stop to realize just how affected he was by the possibility of Davian being entangled with someone else.

"I haven’t seen Davian though," Bella pouted, unable to focus on anyone but herself, easily forgetting that Lake supposedly didn’t know who that was.

"I didn’t even want to come to this festival, I only came because he was here," She kept pouting and complaining.

Lake knew that he had promised to wait right at the tiki bar for Davian but he was very tempted to stand up and leave.

He soon came to wish that he had done that when a couple approached the tiki bar this time.

"I knew it was you," Savannah’s shrill voice interrupted the one-sided conversation that Bella Blackburn was having with him.

Her pretty face was brimming with spite, green eyes spitting fire as she glared down at him. "You evil... you evil little slut, because of you my mom is gone!" She accused, her voice trembling slightly.

Lake was at a complete loss, he did recognize her, but that was where his comprehension of the situation ended, he didn’t have even a single clue about what she was talking about.

Like that wasn’t enough confusion, the Alpha that Savannah had brought with her spoke, catching everyone’s attention, his pale blue eyes widening. "Lake?"

Lake didn’t know how to react to Clint’s presence, it didn’t help that he seemed to know Savannah, rather intimately.

It was almost like the tiki bar was bad luck, ever since Davian left, it had been one inconvenience after another.

Savannah immediately forgot about her gripes with Lake when Clint said his name, chilling dread going down her spine. "You know him?"

The only person blissfully unaware of everything going on was Clint, the Alpha just grinned, happy to see Lake.

"I waited for you for days at the park, and you didn’t show up again." He detangled himself from Savannah and moved closer, disregarding his personal space.

Clint froze for a second when he no doubt caught a whiff of his scent, his smile falling off his face. He got over it quickly though, striking up a conversation like there hadn’t been a break in their odd relationship.

"I didn’t expect to bump into you at the festival, have you been here long?"

Savannah looked on in disbelief, stomping her feet angrily, while Bella looked on curiously.

She knew who Clint Ryder was, an eccentric heir who preferred to stay out of the spotlight. The lady on his arm was unfamiliar though, which meant that she was unimportant.

She didn’t expect the rather plain and pregnant Omega to know someone like that.

Before Lake could pick who to address, there was yet another addition to the already overcrowded tiki bar, and it was none other than Davian.

The Mafia King’s expression was frosty, his cold gray eyes zeroed in on Clint like he had seen the other Alpha from a mile away.

Bella shot to her feet at the sight of him, her and Savannah saying his name at the same time.

The only difference was that while Bella had said it with anticipation and excitement, Savannah had frankly sounded terrified.

Davian ignored them like they were part of the scenery, purposefully putting himself in between Lake and Clint, cutting the other Alpha a cold glare.

Lake placed a hand on Davian’s arm, "You’re back soon, are you done socializing?"

His words frankly stunned the group more than Davian’s sudden presence had.

Clint took the hint and stepped back, Savannah latching onto his hand and tugging on it.

"Let’s leave, please. Clint, please..." She whispered insistently at him, trying to physically pull him away and failing.

Clint was hesitant, he had a feeling that if he left now he wouldn’t see Lake again.

He had tried his best to find the Omega when he stopped coming by the park, and it had been futile, he really didn’t want to leave.

"Clint, I’m begging you," Savannah said desperately, her eyes stinging with tears.

He had no choice but to let her pull him away, looking back over his shoulder at Lake to find Mafia King Davian glaring right at him.

Lake sighed a little in relief when Clint and Savannah left in tow, feeling the tension ease out of Davian.

"Yeah," Davian finally replied to his long-asked question, his voice gruff.

He wasn’t done socializing, but he had no intention of leaving Lake behind once more so he might as well be.
