Caspian’s thin patience was stretched out further with every slimy man that approached him.

Although the drunk Alpha talking to him was wearing a very expensive velvet suit, he was so close to splashing his champagne on him.

With how shit-faced he was, Caspian doubted he would even notice.

"I already said I wasn’t," He said curtly, "So move it along."

"Don’t be like that now..." He weaved on his feet and Caspian hoped he would fall flat on his face so that he would be spared this conversation.

"You’re too pretty not to be one..." He slurred his words, red faced and leering.

Caspian irritated expression morphed into one of disgust, he couldn’t tell if it was a compliment or an insult.

Both possibilities were equally annoying.

He started to search around for Asher when he couldn’t get the Alpha to leave.

At first, the men approaching him had been nothing but nuisances because with a simple no, they backed away.

But they progressively started to get more drunk and harder of hearing.

The one in front of him was his last straw; he would walk around with Asher happily if it would spare him these old lechers.

The Alpha had been gone for quite a while now, he should have returned already...

Caspian’s train of thought halted at the sight of Asher just some tables away.

The Alpha wasn’t alone however, he was speaking to an older distinguished gentleman, and hanging off his arm was none other than...

Lady Bella Blackburn.

Caspian shot to his feet before he even realized what he was doing, his eyes dark.

He shoved past the Alpha harassing him with a quiet ’excuse me’, uncaring that it sent the drunk man stumbling to the ground.

He picked up a glass of champagne as he started for them, emptying half the glass in one swig.

Which in hindsight was probably a terrible idea considering he was already acting very much out of character.

Adding more alcohol to the mix couldn’t possibly end well.

But Caspian was already past the point of logical thinking, sweeping past the tables, green eyed with jealousy, his beauty drawing attention.

He approached them just as Lord Blackburn walked off with someone that needed to talk to him.

Asher looked in his direction at that point, hazel-gold eyes meeting pissed off blue.

Caspian tossed back the rest of the drink in his glass, placing it on a random table.

He caught Bella by her bejeweled wrist and dragged her away from Asher, replacing her. "You left me waiting."

He meant it to sound pandering and ego-stroking, but he was too pissed to soften his voice, so it sounded like he was scolding the Alpha.

Asher’s eyes widened a fraction, he had just been about to return to Caspian’s side when the Omega materialized in front of him, looking really mad.

Now that he thought about it, he had never seen Caspian get so upset before...

"...You didn’t introduce me to your latest one-night stand, Asher-" Isabella blurted out, digging her own grave.

Asher could feel Caspian tense up, finally placing the emotions in his vibrant blue eyes.

Caspian was jealous.

"You’re really good at getting on my nerves, Bella." Caspian said calmly but the threat in his voice was clear to hear.

Asher would usually have butted in at this point, but he didn’t want to miss the chance to see a jealous Caspian.

Isabella had the nerve to look scandalized, a delicate hand flying to the bodice of her dress. "W-What?"

"Calling me a child or a one-night stand is fine," Caspian went on, unfazed by the victimized look she was putting on.

"But if you don’t keep your hands off my mate, you’re going to lose them."

Isabella turned to Asher with a look of horror, "Are you just going to let him speak to me like that?"

"I would listen to him if I were you," Asher said instead, looking like he was mere inches from chuckling.

It was nice to see that he wasn’t the only jealous one in their relationship.

"Let’s leave, Asher." Caspian ended the conversation while Isabella was still sputtering, grabbing an umpteenth glass of champagne as he pulled the Alpha with him.

Asher went easily, waiting till they got to the hallway to take the half empty glass from him.

"How many have you had?" He asked indulgently, keeping the champagne out of reach from Caspian when he immediately tried to go after it.

Caspian was quick to give up. stomping off with his arms crossed. "Not enough."

Asher went after him, handing the glass to a passing servant.

"Are you upset that I kept you waiting?" Asher asked, turning the tables.

Considering that his mood had been absolutely foul, it should be a little concerning that Caspian didn’t have to do much to switch it up.

They had been brought to the ballroom by two servants, so Caspian didn’t exactly know the way back out.

Being a little bit drunk didn’t help his spatial awareness much, and he ended up leading them deeper into the dim mansion instead of out into the parking lot.

Asher didn’t bother correcting or stopping him, slowly prowling after him.

It would be so easy to close the distance between them, but he didn’t, content to stalk him.

"I’m not," Caspian pouted, offended at the allegations.

He uncrossed his arms to lightly support himself with the wall.

He might be more drunk that he thought.

It meant that his lips were looser. "Why don’t you go back to Bella," He tossed over his shoulder, sounding bitter.

That just made Asher break out in a smile, sharp teeth dangerous as he walked down the dim hallway.

"You can prance around the ballroom arm in arm with h-her..." Caspian hiccupped and nearly tripped but he didn’t stop, taking turns at random.

"I’ll just go back to the mansion. You don’t have to worry about me."
