Chapter 151: +Chapter 151+
A smile bloomed on Caspian face, he wanted to tell Asher that he didn’t mind the wait.
As long as he could wait with Asher and the Alpha didn’t keep trying to shut him out.
But he wanted Asher to stew in his self-guilt for a little while, he deserved his pound of flesh back after what the Alpha had put him through.
"Right," He murmured, resuming his meal.
"I don’t think that applies when I’m the one getting your mark," Asher pitched in with a hint of hope in his voice.
"Well, we’re not going to find out because we’re getting marked at the same time." He said bluntly, barely holding back a smile.
Asher didn’t push and Caspian had a feeling that the Alpha would keep bringing it up.
Going from being uncertain if Asher wanted to be tied to him permanently like that to having the Alpha ask so often was a really nice change.
They were mostly left alone for the rest of the meal, the restaurant only seeming to get busier the longer they spent there.
It was almost like the news that Asher was currently there had spread, prompting more people to show up to get a glimpse of him.
Caspian could see why the Mafia King’s restaurants weren’t always his top choices when they had to eat out.
"Where are we going next?" He asked as he got into the car.
Caspian held Asher’s fur coat like it was a live animal, stopping the Alpha from getting a heatstroke if he kept wearing it.
Asher offered to hold it for him, but Caspian didn’t trust him, struggling with the Alpha’s coat as they left the restaurant despite his protests.
Asher shot him a look from the driver’s seat, humor dancing in his eyes despite himself.
He looked completely different without his extravagant coat, dress shirt rolled up to his elbows, his shirt buttons undone.
A ringed hand held onto the steering wheel, "An abandoned warehouse," He answered blandly.
Caspian got caught off guard by this, "A what?" He had to repeat.
"It’s got a big parking lot," Asher provided more information. "I can teach you to drive there..."
It was hot but Caspian held Asher’s coat close, the outfit dripping with his familiar scent.
It should be startling that he felt content considering that things were far from perfect, but it only reinstated the fact that all he needed was Asher.
He was content as long as he was with Asher.
Caspian didn’t remember falling asleep, but there was no ignoring the fact that he was waking up on their bed.
In his hands was Asher’s coat... well that was putting it lightly, he was wrapped around it, and the fur coat in turn was tangled around his limbs.
What happened?
His shoes were gone, and the pearls around his neck felt cold to the touch.
The last thing he remembered was driving with Asher to a place he could practice driving.
Had he really fallen asleep in the car? That had to be the only explanation for why he was back home.
Asher would totally drive him back to the mansion just because he dozed off instead of waking him up.
He found that he couldn’t be mad, happy that Asher had left his coat behind just like he asked.
Caspian sat up, taking off his necklace; although there was a chance that Asher had merely worn another coat.
He had been asleep for quite a while, and he knew that Asher scent clinging to his coat had a lot to do with that.
He didn’t notice the difference in the bedroom until he reached for the bathroom door, it was then that he looked around with wide eyes.
He had completely forgotten that there was supposed to be remodeling going on in the room until that moment.
The new doors didn’t at all stand out because they were the exact same model of doors, just reinforced.
It was already time for dinner, so he freshened up, contemplating a shower before deciding that there was simply no time.
Caspian grabbed his phone as he left the bedroom, wondering if he should call Asher and Jael to ask if they could make it to dinner.
Walking into the dining room to find them already seated made him smile, interrupting their conversation of if to wake him or not by showing up.
"You should have woken me up," He said in response, taking his seat. "Both times."
"You can eat and learn to drive after you wake up," Asher said without mincing his words.
Caspian couldn’t deny that, "But that’ll just make me have a harder time falling asleep at night."
"I doubt that," Jael chimed in.
He had meant that at the fact that it was incredibly easy for Caspian to fall asleep as long as he was comfortable and full of food.
But the Omega’s face burned, his thoughts drifting south.
Asher catching and holding his stare at that moment didn’t help matters much.
Jael rose to his feet with a quietly muttered curse, "I can’t stand you two." He complained, starting for the door.
"Don’t leave without eating!" Caspian called nervously after him, not sure if the Beta really meant it or not.
Jael doubled back at that but he didn’t sit down, he just reached across the table and snatched the chicken off Asher’s plate, munching on it as he walked out.
"You have yours!" Asher’s enraged voice followed him out the door.
Jael could already hear Caspian trying to comfort him by offering his own off his plate and the chicken he ate soured in his mouth.
He stopped outside the door to the dining room and leaned against a nearby wall for a few minutes.
He was envious or bitter, but it was hard to see them have what he never would, he was only human.
Jael pushed away from the door and ambled down the hallway, the chicken forgotten in his hand.
