The sound of a man’s pained groan made Asher glare at Jael who had a poker face on.

"You want to go by yourself?" Asher focused on him, not sounding impressed by the idea.

"Yes," He replied patiently, "My bodyguards will be with me," He tagged on when Asher looked like he was about to protest.

Asher had dropped his gun when Caspian showed up but he picked it up again momentarily when the sleazebag he had been dealing with was staring a little too hard at Caspian.

If the Omega wasn’t in the room, the man would be missing an eyeball, and a larger part of his skull.

It wasn’t just that he was worried for Caspian’s safety, he also didn’t appreciate people staring at him.

"Fine," He gritted out, reluctantly handing him a card.

"Thank you!" Caspian beamed, hopping down from the desk.

His smile was shallow, it barely touched his eyes. Asher was right in front of him but the Alpha had never felt so far away.

"Don’t forget to eat lunch!" He directed at the both of them as he started for the door.

Caspian flinched a little at the unexpected sound of a gunshot going off right after the door shut behind him.

The men in front of the door looked apologetic, like they had been the ones to fire the gun.

Caspian got over it quickly, it had just been startling because he didn’t expect it.

He waved them again as he left with his bodyguards in tow, trying not to focus on the fact that Asher hadn’t even reached for him... hadn’t touched him.

Going shopping was supposed to stop him from jumping to conclusions but visiting Asher before that had ruined his mood.

Now he didn’t even want to go shopping anymore.

He didn’t say his feelings out loud so his bodyguards drove him to an upscale boutique in Central Area.

And he didn’t bother stopping them because returning to the mansion would be no better than going through with shopping.

Caspian stared up at his towering bodyguards who were armed to the teeth, frowning at the sight they painted.

"Couldn’t you both wait in the car for me?" He asked.

They shared a look, visibly uncomfortable by this request.

"You can keep an eye on me from here just fine," Caspian pushed.

He would rather not walk into a store with two dangerous men accompanying him.

"I’m afraid we can’t do that," Keith explained calmly, "We can’t let you out of our sights."

"Then put your guns away," He scolded them in a low tone, "We’re in public."

Peter and Keith scrambled to do as they were told, flinching when Caspian straightened their outfits.

The male Omega still didn’t look satisfied, and he couldn’t be blamed, they looked dangerous in the tactical clothing they wore.

Still unsatisfied, Caspian gave up. Unless they got an entire wardrobe change, they would stand out regardless of the adjustments he made.

Not only did they stand out, but they also made him stand out although he was wearing casual clothing.

"You both need this shopping trip more than I do," He complained as they headed to the entrance.

The security man in front of the building took one look at Peter and Keith and immediately palmed his gun strapped to his hip.

He opened the glass doors for Caspian despite the glaring suspicion in his eyes, "Have a pleasant time," He nodded politely, his face devoid of the smiles he had been handing out to the other customers.

"Don’t glare back at him," Caspian scolded Peter who openly eyed up the security man for a shroud.

Keith had his hands in his pockets as they walked into the perfumed store.

He couldn’t help but warm up to his new job, all he had done in the past couple of days was hang out at the mansion until the boss’ missus was ready to go out.

And when they did go out, all they did was leisurely walk through the woods, and come to harmless little stores like this.

He worked shorter hours too, it was perfect...

Well, the threat of getting his head blown off if he fucked up was always there, but the odds of that happening were less now.

Previously, he could have had that happen on any mission, even hanging out at one of Mafia King Asher’s clubs or hotels could end up with a bullet lodged in his skull.

Plus the boss’ lover was nice, a little eccentric but he meant no harm...

"This should fit you, Keith" Caspian calling his name pulled him out of his thoughts.

"What?" He cocked a brow, refocusing.

Keith had to do a double take at the sight of Peter wearing an old lady’s floral hat, side-eyeing the fluffy sweater Caspian held up.

"We should be shopping for you," He turned down the sweater, hoping the male Omega didn’t push because he would have a hard time saying no.

"Oh right," Caspian agreed, wandering to another section of the boutique.

There should have been a shopping assistant attending to him but the staff in the store just eyed them warily.

Caspian didn’t notice the odd treatment, he hadn’t ever been to such a high-end store before.

A lot of the clothes were eye-catching but he was discouraged by the prices.

He decided to focus on getting the swimwear he specifically came for, flinching at the prices still.

He almost wanted to scold his bodyguards for bringing him to such an expensive store, unused to the flamboyant lifestyle.

He was already in here, however, and he would rather not take his armed bodyguards to another store.

So he picked out a couple of outfits, barely finding men’s clothes in his size. A lot of the swimwear was unisex though, which made shopping easier.

Keith helped him hold the clothes he picked out despite his protests, unfazed by the outfits.

Caspian stepped into the spacious room with mirrors on the walls, holding the clothes he had picked out by himself.

His bodyguards couldn’t follow him to a fitting room, so he was alone for the first time.
