Burning The House Of Cards: taking revenge on my billionaire family -
Chapter 41 - 40. Night Escapade
Chapter 41: Chapter 40. Night Escapade
Hajin had followed someone to shop before; his mother, acquaintances, someone who hired him to become a fake boyfriend...
The point was that he had accompanied people shopping before, and everyone, no matter who, enjoyed the activity.
Unlike his master.
Well...to say Sarah did not enjoy it wasn’t entirely true, since the girl did smile and laugh from time to time. But she wasn’t happy because she didn’t get to buy things she wanted or fulfill some worldly desire for luxury.
No; she smiled and laughed every time she swiped that card, as if every penny disappearing from her family’s account brought immense joy to her.
Adorable. And slightly maniacal.
Hajin also used to be the stuff bearer while accompanying people shopping. He was ready for it; he was even ready to carry his master if she was too tired to walk around the luxury mall anymore.
He just wasn’t ready that the target for all the goods Sarah brought was him.
"You’ll have to accompany me to formal events too, and it doesn’t make sense for my crafted character to only dress you in a boring suit that all the other bodyguards could easily find," Sarah said. "I also don’t like being followed by someone who wears a suit while I’m trying to relax. Also...hmm...you need some special clothes to wear when you go out to do...other stuff."
Hajin wanted to remind his master that he still had his own clothes if she wanted a casual look and operation uniform. But would he reject being touched here and there by Sarah as she tried to see which celebrity clothes matched him the best?
Not a chance.
He used to feel good about people fawning over how good he looked, to the point that he got bored with their compliments. This time, however, he was busy trying to discern whether his master’s comments were true or a calculated act for the employees to see--in case someone from the family was snooping up at them.
Was it a real compliment? Was it just a flirtatious act? Did she really think he looked good in everything? Well...he did know she considered him too handsome for bodyguard duty, which was why they went this ’infatuated master’ route instead.
Should he be happy about that? Should he feel satisfied?
Hajin groaned inwardly.
Wow...he never cared this much about someone’s opinion of him before. He smirked--truly...the power his master held on him...
"It’s fun to waste other people’s money," Sarah curled her lips when she glanced at the price of those clothes, which were normally catered for celebrities.
The bigger the price tag, the wider her smile was.
"So it’s a waste buying stuff for me, Master?" Hajin tilted his head, playfully pursing his lips.
"Silly boy," Sarah chuckled, tapping his lips with the back of her fingers. "If it’s my money, we’ll go to an atelier and get a designer to make something only for you."
Haa...Hajin wanted to kiss those retreating fingers.
"Oh, come to think of it..." Sarah patted her lips in contemplation, and Hajin couldn’t help but think of where those fingers had just been a few seconds before. "I still owe you a bike, don’t I?"
"...I don’t...really need one right away..." Hajin took a deep breath, shifting his gaze away from his master’s lips.
"Nonsense! Since when do we only buy something we need?"
Sarah scoffed and immediately told him to look for the best showroom in town, before shifting her attention to the row of clothes the beaming employees had pulled up for Hajin to try.
"I’ll take the ones that accentuate your chest the most--I need something to feast on when I’m bored."
"Excellent choice, Miss!"
"Oh, my..." Hajin covered his chest playfully. "Whatever pleased my master, of course."
"Of course!" Sarah scoffed and told the store employees to pack the chosen goods and send them to the mansion. It was a store that her older sister frequented too, so all of the employees already knew the drill.
Hmm...he didn’t even have to carry the goods? Hajin tilted his head while following Sarah to the next store.
Of course, normally, her sister’s entourage would still carry the many shopping bags, just for some bragging. But that didn’t seem like something an infatuated princess would do to her dashing bodyguard-slash-paramour.
And so, Hajin enjoyed being treated more like a little affair than an employee. Sarah would even drag him by his arm or circle his elbow while giggling flirtatiously--only when there were some employees or people observing them closely, but it was enough to feed his delusional ass.
It got too close to his shackles of restraint, however, when Sarah decided to choose a fragrance for him, spray it on his neck, and lean forward to sniff him.
It was only a day since his master sucked on his neck to leave a mark visible enough for anyone with functioning eyes to see, and while it was still slightly visible on one side of his neck, his master was now playing with the other side.
There was only so much a healthy, sexually active twenty-eight-year-old man could endure. Hajin had to grip the side of the leather stool he sat on while Sarah had her nose on his throbbing neck, trying hard not to grab the girl and sniff her in return.
Ah...he could even smell her clearly, something fresh and powdery like what he thought the cloud would smell like when he was a kid.
Suppressing a groan, Hajin pleaded in a whisper, because it didn’t seem like Sarah fully knew what kind of effect she had on him. "Master..."
The husky, slightly sultry whisper surprised the girl who was deep in her immersion as an affectionate princess. She pulled back abruptly, which made her lose her balance and almost trip backward.
Hajin, the excellent bodyguard, caught her in reflex, pulling Sarah closely until they ended up in their closest proximity ever. Sarah grabbed onto Hajin’s shoulder for purchase, eyes opened wide in surprise.
It was one thing to do this kind of thing for an act, but when it wasn’t...
Sarah found it was so hard to tear her gaze away from those grey eyes. They were prettier than she thought, like a rich grey labradorite with black lines around the ring. Clear and sharp and--
You like my eyes that much, princess?
Huh?
You keep staring at them.
Sarah shook her head and looked around in surprise. The voice sounded like Hajin, but felt so far away, like an echo in the back of her mind.
"Master?"
And the real Hajin was looking at her inquisitively, asking in a slightly worried tone--unlike the flirty, playful tone of the voice in her head.
"Am I going crazy...?" Sarah muttered quietly.
"I do hope not," Hajin chuckled softly, and it brought Sarah back to their situation; so close to each other that a whisper sounded like a roar.
With a slight gasp, Sarah stepped back and released her grip on Hajin’s shoulder, trying to make it as natural as possible. She cleared her throat and spoke dismissively. "Let’s--ahem--let’s get you that motorcycle now."
Whatever that voice was, she had no leeway to think much of it when there was still a mountain of things for her to do.
* * *
Sarah never lacked anything before, since she wasn’t the type to splurge anyway. Even her expenses during her trashy foreign princess act abroad were still within the allowance budget the family sent--with some spare change that someone could embezzle.
Hmm...what happened to that attendant, she wondered.
Meh--that didn’t matter. The point was, she didn’t feel the brunt of being stripped of her privilege.
That being said...it was indeed different.
Being able to shop for a bunch of clothes and luxury toiletries was different than being able to enter a showroom without bothering about the price. Even Hajin, who said he didn’t need a new bike urgently, couldn’t help but salivate when Sarah said he could choose anything with any specification.
Does it make sense that a motorcycle is as expensive as a sports car? Not at all. But when it was paid with his master’s enemy’s money?
Delicious.
"Can we take it for a spin?" Sarah asked with more interest than Hajin thought, brushing her fingers along the metallic, black frame of the bike.
With that, they left the car behind and rode on the new bike with a temporary license number after changing to a warmer leather jacket they bought right before going to the showroom. Hajin exploited the fact that it would be dangerous for his master not to hold tightly, and had Sarah wrapped her arms around his waist.
The girl did not reject it, too busy looking at the view and feeling the wind with her body. She clutched the front of Hajin’s shirt in reflex, grabbing it so she could concentrate on the ride itself, pressing her body on the bodyguard’s back.
Mm...yes; what a nice day. It was good that she couldn’t see how wide Hajin’s smile was.
They rode through the street as the sky darkened, reminding them both of the time they met again on that mountain. Sarah didn’t want to ever visit that mountain again, but the flashback put her in the mood for a high place still. She recalled a place she visited before with her mother, and...well, it seemed to be the right place for a day when she reignited her hatred toward her father.
But rather than giving Hajin the direction...
"Hey! I want to ride at the front!" Sarah patted the bodyguard’s shoulder while shouting as they drove out of the city.
