Chapter 77 - 77 77 The Heated Battle
77: Chapter 77: The Heated Battle 77: Chapter 77: The Heated Battle Violet’s face darkened suddenly, she had never encountered such a loss before, and besides, it seemed that these undead weren’t really a match for this monster in one-on-one combat.
She’d have to take matters into her own hands!
She picked up her weapon, the Crimson Spear, staring seriously at the creature before her.
This horrifying monster had unimaginable strength.
Not only did it wield powerful psychic magic, but it also had such terrifying strength.
If it were left to feed and grow unchecked, it could become a nightmare for the world.
Imagine if it pierced through the hard rocks and soil with its tendrils, reaching the surface, it would ruthlessly seize everything it could sense and instinctually stuff into its mouth.
Violet couldn’t fathom who could call such a creature into this world, it was unforgettable at first sight.
Swallowing hard, she suppressed her feeling of disgust, gripped her weapon and ordered the undead to charge at this terrifying monster.
The undead howled, sprinting towards the monster, their pale skulls flickering with the flame of the soul.
Yet, halfway through their charge, this monster launched its attack.
Countless tendrils reached out, ensnaring the undead and lifting them high into the air.
But these undead, already acquainted with death, had long lost the emotion known as fear.
At Violet’s command, they swiftly crossed the broken staircase, some even leaped straight off the high platform to face the monster head-on, for the sake of speed.
There was the clattering noise of bones colliding with each other as they landed on the monster, scratching against its rotting flesh.
Some were lucky enough to land on the ground or on its body, but some unfortunate souls ended up landing straight into the monster’s mouth.
The howls of the undead and the monster resonated together, as its large, solid teeth began to do their work.
It bit down like a saw, slicing in half the torso of an undead that had leaped into its mouth.
This didn’t even amount to minor damage for the undead.
Their bodies were just shells to support their movement.
Whether they had bodies or not, they would not die as long as the flame of their souls still burned brightly.
So, even if the undead that fell into the monster’s mouth had their bodies bitten in half, they still swung their giant axes, hacking at the grayish-green flesh of the monster.
The sound of howls and savagery filled the air as the deep green blood gushed out.
It was a gruesome collision of monster against monster, with flesh and blood flying everywhere.
The sound of bones breaking was disturbingly crisp.
Violet watched it all unfold, seeing the undead hanging from the monster’s mouth, hacking away a few times before being dragged in by its writhing teeth.
Even the hardest bone was crushed into small pieces and swallowed whole.
The blue flame of the soul was extinguished instantly.
Even for the undead, this monster had no hesitation in stuffing them into its belly, not worried about indigestion in the slightest!
This was not a question of having a good or bad diet, but of being indiscriminately omnivorous!
What nutrients could it gain from pale white bones?
Could it suck the marrow out of them?
Or could it digest the bones themselves?
Violet mulled over these questions, cringing at each answer her doubts conceived.
Maybe, just maybe, it could digest them completely.
Therefore, she couldn’t help but inhale sharply.
She found herself in awe of the monster’s appetite, but beyond that, she didn’t have much to say.
It truly was a creature that devoured everything!
It’s no wonder that there wasn’t a single corpse or bone to be found in this place, for it never spat out the bones it swallowed!
Everything it saw, everything that moved, was estimated to have been swallowed into its belly!
What wickedness could have spawned such a horrifying entity?
A creature that shoves everything it can reach into its mouth and doesn’t pick its food is a good baby in some sense.
If it hadn’t been so terrifyingly ugly, a lot of mothers might have liked it.
If it could be perceived as cute, that is.
At this moment, Violet finally recognized the monstrous creature before her.
It was not some kind of organism, but a form of greed, a mutation created by magic.
It was clearly a wicked entity infused with gluttony and greed.
Perhaps, it used to be a human.
It used to be the lord of this castle.
“So, should I exterminate it in the name of light and justice?” Violet muttered to herself.
However, this was just her complaining in passing.
Violet wished she could turn around and leave right now, out of sight, out of mind.
She imagined herself in her pristine, beautiful world.
To launch an attack on this thing with the artifact in her hands would be nothing short of an insult to the artifact.
But if she left this gigantic thing beneath her castle, watching her inflexibly, it made her skin crawl.
Looking into its massive eyes, Violet distinctly felt like a vastly evil entity was staring up her skirt.
Even if it made her sleep a bit more soundly?
Or could she use it as a living specimen, to throw it in front of the town’s residents?!
Even in moments like these, all Violet could think of was how to spread her beliefs properly.
However, that wicked thought had only flashed across her mind before it faded.
Nevermind the latter!
If this monstrous representation of gluttony was exposed to the sunlight, if the villagers saw the true form of this monster, Violet feared that the villagers who had never seen the world before would lose their minds!
If a whole village was to go mad because of this, that would definitely not be fun.
So Violet quickly discarded this wicked thought of hers.
The undead hacked away like mad at the monster’s body.
Green blood rushed out nonstop.
Its tendrils writhed as if in pain.
It had eyes growing on its rotten flesh, eyes without eyelids.
That became Violet’s target as she decided to kill it by puncturing its eyeballs.
While the many undead distracted its tendrils, this monster still played with them as if toying with its food by binding them and waving them in the air.
Yet, these undead didn’t die quickly because of it.
The sound of their axes slicing through flesh was audible as the battle made the underground space quite lively.
