Chapter 73 - 73 73 Tyranny

73: Chapter 73: Tyranny 73: Chapter 73: Tyranny In these depths of the underground, the further down one traveled, the more labyrinthine it became.

Countless branches appeared before Violet, each seeming to potentially lead further down into the abyss.

But the true path was always just one!

With Lorcan’s guidance, it wasn’t difficult for Violet to find the way to the deepest part of this underground.

All she needed to do was to keep advancing towards where the creatures were most concentrated.

The places where these demon monsters clustered would invariably be marked with more traces on the surrounding walls.

These marks provided Violet a helpful guidance.

Meanwhile, Violet, full of unvented anger, deliberately made a lot of noise as she walked, drawing the attention of these demons.

These pitiful creatures hid in the dark, unprovoking and unprovoked, crouching obediently in their subterranean caves.

Until the noise Violet made stirred them, causing them to instinctively launch an attack on her.

These creatures that emerged from the darkness had absolutely no idea what kind of enemy they were facing.

Violet, whose lips curled into a mocking sneer, didn’t hesitate at all to vent on these sudden intruders from the dark.

The strange force in the hands of the undead combined with Violet’s anger made for a nightmare of a combination.

Typically, the creatures that lurk deep underground were fierce and brutal.

However, in the face of Violet, who was even more savage and merciless than themselves, they acted like obedient lambs.

Hearing the sound intentionally made by Violet, they instantly leaped from the darkness, utilizing their sharp claws to slash at the leading undead.

However, could these undead, their bones as hard as diamonds, be easily killed by the demons just because they were worried about this level of attack?

That was a sheer joke!

These foolish demons, in the face of humanoid demons, instinctively reached for the neck bones and heart’s position of the undead.

But all they encountered was hard bone and empty bodies.

Attack of this kind couldn’t harm the undead at all!

Though their bodies were stiff and their speed and reflexes were far from as fast as these demons, their undead “immortality” attribute allowed them to ignore such attacks.

No matter how powerful a living demon was, they ultimately were living beings.

To make it easier for the undead to dismember these demons, Violet had replaced the undead’s shield with a battle axe.

The sharp axe blade plunged into the demon clinging to its bones much like cutting through tofu, and screams erupted in the darkness.

These creatures, whether human or not, were cut into pieces, some were chopped into four, others were completely unrecognizable as Violet passed by.

The ground was left with a pool of shapeless, pitch-black, indescribable flesh and blood.

All of this confirmed Lorcan’s beliefs.

It seemed that his choice was indeed correct; this woman in front of him was not just a powerful mage.

Considering the violent means she used against demons, it wouldn’t be surprising if Violet one day turned into a ruthless demon herself.

Most of the monsters lurking in the dark were human mutations, a fact recognized by all demon hunters.

Given this fact, any excuses were meaningless.

The more cruel and greedy a human, the easier it was for them to lose their way and eventually become a demon.

This was something Lorcan learned when he became a demon hunter.

And because these, he strove to avoid dragging his sister, Rolin, into this fight.

All of this was too premature for Rolin.

Therefore, Lorcan wanted to do his utmost to fulfill his responsibilities as a brother, providing a clean, demon-free world for Rolin.

However, it was already too late when everything was happening.

Rolin had already silently taken in the brutal scene, and no one knew what she was thinking.

Only Rolin herself knew.

“Have you always been this cruel?” Unable to bear Violet’s actions, Lorcan finally lost his patience and questioned Violet.

He was averse to her way of dismembering these demons.

It was just too cruel, but Violet didn’t seem to care as she lifted the corner of her lips.

Was she overly cruel to her enemies?

Maybe, but could kindness be a meal?

In this dark world, the screams and whispers of demons constantly reverberated in her ears, akin to demonic chants.

The only goal in the hearts of these demons was to kill all intruders.

And Violet was the target they must kill.

When faced with enemies that wanted to kill her, Violet didn’t think she needed anyone else to tell her how to act.

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth; if these dead demons had the ability to rise again, then let them rise!

Unfortunately, they couldn’t, so their deaths were inevitable.

As for cruelty…

Violet looked at Lorcan with contempt.

When he wasn’t looking, she curled her lips into a deep, contemptuous sneer.

“If you can’t bear to watch, I suggest you learn how to make clothes,” said Violet seriously.

This was a world of survival of the fittest, a matter of life and death.

Whatever was deemed cruel or not was something only the surviving victors could decide.

No matter how many times the same thing happened, no matter how many times it recurred, Violet would instruct these undead skeletons without hesitation, killing these monstrous, hideous demons that dared to stand in her way.

At this time, the stench in the air had only grown more intense.

It was a nauseating smell emanating from deep within the ground, like a creature that had eaten countless unknown substances opening its mouth.

The dirty, decaying substances in its mouth slowly exuded a strong odor.

The wind from the underground was filled with this eerie stench.

This made Violet frown, sensing something was not right.

“Could there be some big creature lurking underground?” Whatever it was, there was no chance to retreat now.
