Chapter 307: GENERAL TIGER AND RALPH

Chapter 307: GENERAL TIGER AND RALPH

"In the shadow of the mountain, I found the one who turned war into peace, and a future carved not by blood but by love."

The forest was dense, shadows weaving between the towering pines as I moved carefully alongside General Tiger. The scent of earth and pine filled the air, grounding me, but inside I was anything but calm. Since last night, something deep inside had shifted an undeniable pulse growing stronger with each breath. The little heartbeats, the sign of the pups were stirring, growing inside me, a new life tied to the blood of the Rogourau coursing through my veins.

I glanced at Tiger, his steady presence a comfort, yet I couldn’t shake the unease twisting my gut. Omega blood was rare in the Rogourau, and carrying new life only deepened the complexity of my place in all this. The forest whispered secrets, but I wasn’t sure if I was ready to face them yet.

"Tiger," I said quietly, voice low as the wind, "I can feel them. The pups. It’s like they’re alive, right here inside me. I don’t know what it means for me... or for the Rogourau."

He looked at me, eyes sharp but kind. "It means you’re part of something bigger, Ralph. We’ll face it together."

The forest settled around us like a quiet promise as General Tiger spoke, his voice steady and sure.

"I never thought I’d have a mate," he said quietly. "My life was the army protecting the Bay Shifter pack was all I ever wanted. Then you came, Ralph. Everything changed."

I looked up at him, heart skipping as he continued.

"I love your body, the way you move, how strong you are even now. Watching you grow with those pups inside you it’s something I can’t wait to see. You’re sweet and sexy all at once."

I couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled up, warmth rushing to my cheeks. "You really mean that?" I asked, trying to play it cool but failing miserably. Tiger smiled, that soft look in his eyes making my pulse quicken. "Every word." I felt a blush creep over me, and I looked down, suddenly shy. But inside, I was grateful more than words could say for this unexpected bond, this fierce love growing stronger with every step.

The moment hung heavy between us, charged with something deeper than words. Tiger’s hands found my waist, pulling me close until there was no space left between us. His lips crashed against mine hungry, demanding and I melted into the heat of his kiss. He pressed me tighter, his body solid and warm against mine. Then, without breaking the kiss, he shifted, pulling me up into his lap. I gasped softly, the sensation igniting a fire low in my belly. His hands roamed with purpose, and every touch sent shivers racing through me. I couldn’t hold back the soft moan that escaped my lips, a sound that only seemed to fuel his desire. In that moment, nothing else existed but the rhythm of our breathing and the promise of everything yet to come.

I slowly pulled back from Tiger’s kiss, my chest rising and falling as I caught my breath. His dark eyes searched for mine, full of that fierce protectiveness and something softer, something that made my heart beat faster.

"I need to tell you something," I murmured, voice shy but steady. "Because I’m Rogourau, when the pups come they’ll carry both our bloodlines."

His brow furrowed slightly, waiting. "The gestation is longer," I continued, swallowing my nerves. "It takes twenty-four moon months for a Rogourau to carry pups to term." My cheeks flushed. "And during the pregnancy, I’ll be in heat for a couple of months. It’s part of the process."

Tiger’s lips curled into a low, satisfied growl that rumbled deep in his chest. "That’s good to hear," he said, eyes darkening with desire. "Means I get to claim you even more." His hands tightened on my waist, and I felt that fierce, unshakable promise in his touch.

Tiger didn’t say a word he just looked at me with that blazing intensity before suddenly sweeping me into his arms like I weighed nothing. My breath hitched, but I didn’t protest. His hold was warm, strong, and so incredibly gentle that it made something flutter inside my chest. He carried me across the room to our bed, laying me down carefully atop the soft furs. The room was dim, lit only by the low golden glow of the lantern by the wall, and all I could hear was the rhythm of his breathing and the beating of my own heart.

Then, he sank to his knees beside the bed, his big hands settling on either side of my waist. I watched him, curious and quiet, as he lowered his head and pressed his ear gently against my belly. I blinked, stunned by the sudden rush of emotion that tightened my throat. The silence stretched between us, and I felt his breath against my skin. After a long pause, he pulled back slowly, his eyes wide, something close to awe glimmering in them.

"There are four," he whispered, his voice hoarse. "Four little heartbeats."

My mouth parted, stunned. "Four...?"

Tiger leaned in and kissed me, slow and reverent. His lips brushed mine like a promise. When he pulled back, he rested his forehead against mine, grinning.

"We’re going to have four pups, Ralph," he murmured, voice thick with wonder. "Four beautiful, perfect pups."

Tears pricked the corners of my eyes, and I couldn’t stop the soft laugh that slipped from my lips—half joy, half disbelief. I reached up and cupped his cheek.

"We’re going to be a family," I whispered.

"And I’ll love you every step of the way," he swore. "You and every one of them."

Early the next day, the morning sun filtered through the forest canopy, casting golden dapples across the path as I led Tiger toward the heart of the Rogourau clan’s territory. The mountain breeze was fresh, clean like something ancient breathed through these trees and I felt it stir deep in my blood. This place had raised me, carved its strength into my bones, and today, I was returning not just as a son, but as something more. Tiger walked beside me, his gaze alert as always, but softer around the edges. He’d barely let go of me since last night, and his hand found mine again as we reached the great arch of stone that marked the Rogourau’s sacred boundary.

Rolan and Qadira were already waiting at the entrance, their forms tall and regal beneath the rise of Ragar Mountain. Qadira’s sharp gaze softened the moment she saw me, and Rolan’s proud smile said he already knew.

"You felt it, didn’t you?" I asked them, breath caught in my throat.

Qadira nodded slowly, stepping forward. "Of course we did. The mountain told us before you even arrived."

Tiger glanced at me, brow lifting. "Told them?"

"The Rogourau are bonded to the land," I explained gently. "The mountain speaks to those who listen."

Rolan clasped Tiger’s shoulder in welcome. "General, welcome to our home and welcome to the family."

Tiger gave him a respectful nod. "Thank you. It’s an honor."

I cleared my throat, nerves catching up to me at last. "We came because... I wanted my people to know. I’m expecting. We’re expecting pups."

There was a beat of silence before Qadira gasped and Rolan’s grin grew even wider. Then I was pulled into Qadira’s arms as she laughed, warm and fierce and proud. "Four," I added softly, leaning into her. "There are four heartbeats."

Rolan chuckled, stepping back as the Clan Elder approached. The Elder’s silver hair shimmered like threads of moonlight, and his pale eyes held centuries of wisdom. He placed a hand on my shoulder and looked between Tiger and me.

"Blessings upon you both," the Elder said, voice like quiet thunder. "This union binds two bloodlines with strength and balance. May your pups carry the power of the Rogourau and the heart of the shifter warriors."

Tiger bowed his head in reverence. "I will protect them with everything I am."

And I believed him completely. The air beneath Ragar Mountain shimmered with silence, heavy with presence. It was as if the mountain itself had gone still to listen. We stood in the sacred grove just past the guardian stones, surrounded by towering evergreens and soft moss underfoot. The Rogourau Clan had gathered in a respectful circle at a distance, giving us space but watching with reverence. The Clan Elder stepped back after marking our hands with earth and ash, signaling it was time. Tiger faced me, his sharp military bearing softened by the emotion in his eyes. For once, the General was quiet, not because of strategy or control but because his heart was too full.

I took his hands in mine, the ash smudging our fingers where we touched. "I never thought I’d return to this place with love in my hands," I began, my voice barely more than a whisper. "But here I am, standing beneath the mountain of my birth, with the man the Fates carved out just for me."

Tiger’s breath hitched, but he said nothing just watched me, eyes burning.

"You didn’t just give me love, Tiger. You gave me a future. A home in a world I never thought I’d belong in again. And now our pups." I paused, pressing his hand to my stomach. "I vow to raise them with the strength of my ancestors and the loyalty you’ve taught me. I vow to love you in every storm and stillness. Always."

Tiger’s jaw worked, and then he finally spoke. "Ralph," he murmured, voice deep and hoarse with feeling. "You are everything I didn’t know I was missing. I lived for war. For duty. But then you walked into my world, and suddenly, there was color. Warmth. A reason to come home." He placed both hands on my waist, grounding me. "I vow to guard you with my life, to honor every breath you take. I vow to love the pups you carry, to be the shield and the shelter for our family. You’re not just my mate. You’re my world."

My throat tightened as the mountain wind picked up gently, circling us in a breeze scented with pine and earth. Then the Elder lifted his staff, and his voice echoed like old stone:

"Bound beneath mountain and moon, between land and blood, let this union be sealed."

Tiger leaned forward, cupping my face, and kissed me not with hunger, but with love so pure I could feel it crack open the last wall around my heart.

The clan howled softly in blessing, and the wind whispered back.

We were one.

Forever.
