Chapter 259: INTO THE BAY SHIFTER PACK
{"The beast within is not a curse,it’s a truth too raw for the world to bear."}
FREY’S POV
The moment we stepped into Tor’s home, the door shut behind us with a soft thud—and then I was against it, his body pressing into mine, firm, warm, and familiar. His hands pinned mine beside my head, and before I could even catch a breath, his mouth was on mine.
Gods, hunger. It was not just wanted. It was needed. Like every moment we had spent apart, every battle we had fought, every secret we had carried had only built to this: the press of his lips against mine, the claiming heat of his body. I groaned into the kiss, arching toward him as his grip tightened just enough to make me feel his strength. Tor kissed like a storm breaking a clash of fire and need, teeth grazing, tongues tangling. His scent wrapped around me, pine and mountain wind and something uniquely his that made my head spin.
He pulled back, barely, just enough to meet my eyes. "You don’t know what it’s been like," he rasped, his voice rough and low, "the journey back was too long."
My heart thundered. I could see the restraint in him, coiled tight under muscle and bone, and I reached up, sliding my hands into his hair. "I’m here now," I whispered. "No more waiting."
He kissed me again, slower this time, but no less intense. His lips explored like he was relearning me. His touch burned down my sides, possessive and reverent all at once.
I wrapped my legs around his waist without hesitation, and he lifted me like I weighed nothing, carrying me through the home that was now ours. The scent of cedar and stone clung to the air, the hum of protective wards brushing against my skin like welcome.
But none of it mattered, not the rooms we passed, not the shadows of the past, because he was all I needed. When he set me down again, it was with gentleness. His forehead rested against mine, and for a heartbeat, we simply breathed together.
We barely made it past the front room before he pulled me down with him. The soft thud of our bodies meeting the floor reverberated in the quiet space, and Tor’s hand cradled the back of my head as he lay beneath me, chest heaving.
"Freyr," he breathed, voice thick with need. "Feed me."
I froze.
His eyes, those storm-grey eyes, burned with longing, not fear. Not uncertainty. Just raw trust.
"Tor..." My voice was already trembling, my control unravelling thread by thread. I could feel the thrum of his pulse, strong and steady, singing to the hunger in me like a siren call.
He cupped my jaw, his thumb brushing my cheek. "I want it. I need it. From you. Take it."
The air shifted, and something primal stirred between us, ancient and magnetic.
I surged forward, pressing him down, one hand fisting in the fabric of his shirt, the other braced beside his head. He bared his neck to me without hesitation, no fear, no resistance, and the heat that roared through me was wildfire. My fangs slid down, and the moment they sank into his skin, we both gasped.
His blood flooded into me, molten and alive, thick with power and something else. My body shuddered against his as the hunger clawed out of me, desperate and unrelenting, and Tor moaned beneath me, his hands gripping my back as though holding me to this world.
"Freyr—gods—" he growled, his voice a mix of pain and pleasure, his hips rising to meet mine as if he could not bear the distance between us. I could not stop. I did not want to stop. His taste was lightning, storm-wild, and sacred. I drank deeply, every pull of blood deepening the bond that had already entwined our souls. His heartbeat in my ears was like a war drum, steady and proud, and I drank until the hunger dulled, until I could breathe again.
When I pulled back, blood on my lips and my body shaking, Tor was still beneath me—eyes heavy-lidded, lips parted, his smile soft.
"You look like a god when you feed," he whispered, brushing hair from my face. "Mine. Only mine."
I lowered my forehead to his, catching my breath, feeling the tether between us throb with something deeper than desire. We lay there for a long moment heartbeats syncing, breathing slowing, the blood-bond pulsing with quiet power between us.
Tor’s arms were still around me when he whispered, "Come with me."
I barely nodded, drunk on the taste of him, the scent of his skin still clinging to my tongue like a promise. He stood first, pulling me up with him, his hands never leaving my body. We moved in silence, only the soft sound of our breath and the hum of connection guiding us. The blood I had taken from him shimmered on my lips and chest, and Tor’s eyes flicked there with a hunger that had not faded; it had only shifted.
He led me into the bathroom, and the moment the water started cascading from the rainfall spout, steam wrapped around us like a veil. The stone walls glistened under the warm spray as we stepped beneath them, letting the water run over our bodies, washing away the blood, the tension, but not the desire.
Tor’s hands found my waist, then my back, then my hair. He kissed me, slow and deep this time. Not rushed, not desperate. His lips trailed down my throat, and I felt his breath on my skin before I felt the sharp press of his fangs.
"Tor—" I gasped, but it was too late.
He bit me again. Marking me, right over the bond he had placed once before.
This one was deeper, A claim, etched in flesh and soul. The pain was bright and brief—but then the pleasure followed, searing through me, pulling a growl from my chest as my hands gripped his shoulders. My body melted into him as the water poured over us, steam rising like mist around two beasts tangled in need.
"Mine," he whispered against my skin, his voice hoarse. "Every breath, every heartbeat."
I turned to face him again, catching his mouth with mine as our bodies collided once more, slick with water, burning with heat. My hands slid over his chest, down his sides, fingers memorizing every line, every scar, every tremble.
We made out under the falling water, lips devouring, tongues claiming, touches seeking. The world outside faded. There was only the shower’s steady rhythm and the thunder between our hearts.
No one had ever touched me like this, like I was sacred, like I was his. And gods help me, I was. We stayed in that shower until the heat faded, and the water ran cool and still, we could not pull apart.
By the time we stepped out of the shower, my lips were still tingling from his kiss, and my skin thrummed where his mark now pulsed fresh, bold, and undeniably his. We dried off in comfortable silence, stealing glances and small smiles like we were still learning how to be in this soft, wild love that had claimed us.
Tor pulled on a clean dark tunic, sharp and fitted, and I slid into a charcoal shirt that clung a bit too well to my chest. He reached over to smooth down my collar, fingers lingering for just a second too long.
"Are you ready for the pack?" he asked, voice low.
"As long as I walk beside you," I replied. "Let them see exactly what we are."
He nodded, eyes glowing faintly with his Lycan edge. "Then let’s go."
The walk to the Royal Garden was short but sunlit, the scent of pine and clean earth welcoming. The manor grounds were lively now, energy buzzing around us as pack members milled about, ready for the gathering. The garden opened like a scene out of a painting, stone walkways threaded through emerald grass, blossoms of blue and crimson blooming on tall stalks, and the shimmer of magic lacing the air like pollen.
Everyone was already there. Qadira And Rolan stood off to the side, speaking quietly, her hair catching the morning light like fire. Rita and Flora sat beside Rou and Commander Belle, who held his hand as though it were the most natural thing in the world. Even Beta Spark stood tall at the garden’s edge, arms crossed, his sharp gaze softening the moment he saw us and members of the Bay shifter council.
All at once, heads turned, and then, in perfect unison, they all spoke. "Greetings, Alpha Tor."
I could feel the way Tor’s spine straightened at the sound, not from pride, but from reverence. A quiet weight settled over his recognition, not ego. He inclined his head, hand reaching for mine beside him. "And greetings to all of you, my family."
Beta Spark stepped forward, his tall frame commanding attention without trying. The garden seemed to hum in response to his presence, like the very earth recognized his authority. His eyes swept across the gathered group, every one of us, his family now before he spoke.
"Welcome, all of you, to Bay Shifter lands. It is an Honor to stand here today, united by bonds deeper than just loyalty."
He let the words linger, his deep voice carrying the weight of centuries of history, of pack and family. His gaze lingered on Tor for a moment before shifting to me, then back to the group.
"I see familiar faces, but there are also new ones, new blood, new promises," he continued, a slight smile curving his lips. "And it is in these bonds that we find strength."
The wind picked up just slightly, rustling the leaves of the nearby trees, as if agreeing with his words. Tor stood tall beside me, but I could see the subtle shift in his posture, a relaxation, a quiet pride at how his pack had embraced the changes, the new connections.
"We have much to discuss today," Beta Spark went on. "But first, let us remember why we are here. We are a family. No matter what lands we come from, what pasts we carry, we share a future."
The air felt thicker now, as if every breath we took was bound to the promise of that future. The scent of the garden, rich with flowers and earth, mingled with the sharp tang of magic.
"I ask that each of you take a moment to reflect on the bond that ties us all," Beta Spark continued. "And for those new to the pack, let this be the beginning of your journey with us."
His gaze swept over the group again, lingering on Rou, Qadira, Rolan, and even the rest of us, Freyr and I, before finally landing on Tor.
"And Alpha Tor," Beta Spark said, his tone slightly softening. "Brother, you are finally back home."
Tor’s jaw tightened for just a moment before he nodded, his voice firm when he spoke. "Yes, Brother. Thank you for keeping the pack safe while I was away."
Beta Spark raised his hand, and the garden fell silent, as if holding its breath. "Then let us celebrate this new Chapter together. Welcome home."
