Chapter 195: MORE!

{ "Heat cannot be separated from fire, or beauty from the Eternal." }

It started deep in my belly, curling hot and insistent like wildfire lapping at dry grass. My limbs turned liquid, my breath heavy, my pulse a drumbeat in my throat. I could barely think, only feel. Everything sharpened. She moved around me, quiet and composed as always. But I saw the shift, and her eyes darkened. Her jaw flexed. She swallowed. "You’re burning," she said, voice low, hoarse at the edges.

"Yeah." I leaned back on my elbows, on the long fur jacket that I had left on the ground. My shirt clung to me, half unbuttoned, and my nipples hardened. "I feel like I might burn through the stone."

Then she knelt beside me. Her fingers brushed my temple, sweeping back damp hair, and lingered a little longer than they needed to.

"Rita..."

"Flora," I said, breath catching as another wave rolled through me, leaving my skin tingling and tight. I shifted toward her, letting my knees fall open slightly, deliberately, watching her reaction.

She bit her bottom lip. Hard. Her eyes flicked over my flushed skin, the way my shirt slid off one shoulder, how my chest rose faster now. "You smell like a storm," she said, voice rougher. "Like you could pull me under."

I leaned closer, resting my forehead against hers. "Then let it pull you."

She exhaled hard, hands gripping the shirt instead of mine. "Sweet, so sweet," she said again, but this time it wasn’t resistance. It was a temptation.

"I want you," I whispered, lips brushing the shell of her ear. "No one else. Only you."

Her restraint cracked. I felt it in the sudden rush of her breath, the way her hand slid to the small of my back and pulled me close, skin to skin. Her mouth hovered over mine, trembling, waiting. I wrapped my arms around her, pressed my mouth to hers, and melted. She kissed me with hunger and passion as our bond snapped into place like lightning between bones, and the ache between us stopped being a burden.

And when she laid me back onto the warm stone, when her hands followed the curve of my body like she’d already memorized it, I knew this wasn’t just instinct as Ashe shed wet shirt that clung to her body and her mouth moved from my lips to my neck and then lower and her teeth clung on my nipples and that is when I shattered, untouched and my body shook like a leaf.

It was love on fire, and Flora raised her hand and smirked at me, and whispered, "Rita, you look heavenly. "

Everything blurred at the edges like I was underwater, swimming through heat and wanting and something deeper I couldn’t name.

The air tasted like her. Warm skin and crushed pine needles and that faint wild spark only Flora carried. It sank into my lungs and burned straight down.

I couldn’t think. Couldn’t breathe without her name in my mouth.

"Flora..."

It left me like a prayer and a plea all at once.

She hovered just above me, lips parted, her expression tight with restraint. Too tight. Like she was holding herself back for both of us. But I couldn’t take it anymore. I needed her—like air, like a shift under the full moon, like blood in my veins.

My fingers curled into the front of her shirt. "Please," I whispered, voice hoarse and trembling. "I need you. Right now."

She didn’t move fast enough, and hence I pulled her. Clung to her like I was falling, and she was the only thing that could hold me up. Our mouths crashed together, not soft or sweet—desperate, hot, hungry. My heat roared to the surface as soon as I tasted her, my whole body arching to meet hers, needing more, needing her.

Flora groaned low in her throat, and gods, that sound undid me. My fingers tangled in her hair as she kissed me deeper, harder. Her body pressed flush to mine, and every inch of me lit up like kindling. She was fire, and I was already burning.

My voice broke into the kiss. "Don’t hold back... not with me."

"I won’t," she breathed against my lips, finally giving in, letting go.

And when her hand slid down my side, when her breath stuttered against my skin like I was the only thing that mattered, I knew— This was us, bonded, bound, and wild.

"More," I moaned, the word torn from my throat, half-desperate, half-command.

It wasn’t enough, her mouth on mine, the weight of her body against me, the tension thrumming between our chests. I needed everything. Needed her to feel the ache that lived in my bones, the pull that wouldn’t let go. And Flora, by the moon goddess, she listened and she didn’t pause and gave me exactly what I asked for. Her hands gripped my hips, sure and possessive, her mouth leaving trails of fire along my throat. Each kiss was a promise, rough, raw, real. She devoured my moans like they were sacred, drank them down like she’d been starved for the sound.

"I’ve got you," she growled against my skin. "You want more? I’ll give you everything."

My back arched, hips chasing hers, the heat crackling higher, hotter, consuming every inch of logic I had left. There was only one need. Her scent. Her touch. Her voice, all of it, grounding and maddening at once.

"You’re driving me crazy," I gasped, nails digging into her shoulders.

She smiled against my collarbone, and it wasn’t soft. It was wild. Proud. A little wicked. "Good," she murmured. "I want to ruin you for anyone else."

"You already have," I breathed, tilting my face to hers. Her lips met mine again, tougher this time. Hungrier. There was no more holding back. No more pretending we were above instinct or beyond the pull of the bond.

Dawn came like a sigh, and the soft, golden light spilled across the rocks, touching everything with a quiet glow, gentle, forgiving. And for the first time in what felt like forever, the burn inside me dimmed. The fire that had raged through my blood began to ease, leaving behind only the ache of what we’d just shared. I lay there still, bare beneath the warm stone, flushed and spent, my body warm from the way she’d held me through the night. The heat wave had finally passed, and Flora stirred beside me, brushing a hand through my hair. Her eyes met mine, still wild but softened now, glowing in the gold of morning. She smiled, and it felt like the sun rose just for us.

"How about we spend the rest of the time in the water?" she whispered.

Before I could answer, she lifted me into her arms effortlessly, like I weighed nothing at all. Her strength always made me feel small, safe, and chosen. I curled into her chest, heart still fluttering from the storm we’d survived. She walked slowly, majestically, down toward the hidden pond just beyond the rocks. Steam curled above its glassy surface, catching the morning light in soft spirals. The world was quiet, no army, no mountains, no traitors, just birdsong and the sound of her steps in the water.

She carried me in like I was sacred, and the warmth of the pond met us both with open arms. She sank to her knees in the water, and I straddled her lap, resting my forehead against hers. Her arms stayed around me, holding me like I was still burning, but this time, it wasn’t about hunger or heat.

"I love you so much Flora," I whispered.

Flora tilted her head, brows lifting. "You’re my mate, Rita, and I love you too."

I closed my eyes, letting the peace soak into my bones. "I will forever be loyal to you."

She kissed my forehead, then my cheek, then my lips, soft, slow, sure. "Me too."

We sat there, surrounded by warmth, floating in the quiet after everything. The bond between us no longer burned; it glowed. It was well past noon when we finally left the water, our fingers reluctant to part even for a second. The sun had risen high, casting long golden rays through the trees that framed the secluded pond, wrapping us in warmth that didn’t come from heat this time but from something much deeper.

" Mmmm" I hummed in pleasure as we dried off slowly, quietly. The air felt different now, lighter, gentler, as if the whole mountain had exhaled with us. I dressed lazily, still stealing glances at her. Flora moved like she always did, gracefully and sure, but there was softness now in the way she looked at me. A new reverence in the way her eyes lingered on my face, my lips, my collarbone. That slow, magnetic pull that had nothing to do with the heat anymore. Just the bond between us settled, sealed, but no less intense.

Once we were both dressed, I turned toward her and didn’t even think my hands slid into her hair, and I pulled her in. Our mouths met in a deep, wet kiss that made my knees tremble all over again. She tasted like warm skin and forever. Flora groaned softly against my lips, hands finding my waist and tugging me close until there was no space left between us. I melted into her without hesitation, pressing my body into hers, fingers tightening as the kiss deepened. We kissed like time didn’t exist, like the war outside the trees was a dream and only this was real, our mouths, our breath, our quiet sighs swallowed into each other.

"Do we have to go back?" I whispered against her lips.

Her forehead rested against mine, her breath hot and uneven. "Not right away."

And just like that, we were clinging to each other again, swaying in the golden light, hearts beating in sync, wrapped in a moment where only love existed.
