Blood Nemesis
Chapter 64: Money 2

Chapter 64: Money 2

"Money, Money, Money. I need more money if I really want to be something.

First, think of other places to grow the money. Guild stocks, technology companies, or mining companies. I could invest in some companies with great potential and make a killing before investing in Root’s father’s company."

Oliver sat on his bed, thinking. It seemed he was unable to stop thinking. His thoughts ran wild for hours until he concluded.

"I don’t know anything about investing." He said while gazing at his computer monitor.

There were a lot of things he could invest in. But the process was painfully long and technical. It was as if they wanted to discourage him from investing.

"I can’t allow that. I need help." Oliver decided.

Glancing at the information he had collected, there were a lot of companies that would perform well in the future. Their current stock value was very low, and if he could buy and sell at the right time, he could make a significant profit.

It was a chance he couldn’t miss.

"I need to find someone who knows about stocks."

As a villain in his past life, Oliver didn’t interact with stocks or other legal ways to make money.

In fact, if he were desperate for money, he would rob a bank or take up bounties on the black market.

It didn’t matter to him if the money was black or white.

"Who should I call?" Oliver pondered.

Currently, he doesn’t have the connection to the past. He couldn’t simply call his old contacts as he would have in his past life.

"The black market was a bad place if I wanted to invest legally. I can’t ask Grizzly about it. Should I ask my father?" He thought.

Oliver’s father was a finance graduate who later became a convenience store owner. He should have some knowledge about investing.

"That’s a bad idea. I can’t let my family know about the money."

"What if I said I was investing a small amount gradually?"

"Then they would suggest some random apps. However, apps will not be enough. I need someone who can approach unlisted companies and buy stocks from them directly, like an angel investor."

"I would have to hire someone to work for me full time."

"By doing so, the money I could make would also be a lot."

*Sigh!*

"It’s too complicated," Oliver said to himself.

When he dug deeper, Oliver realised that the money he had needed to be laundered into a company in his name through another complicated process before it could be legally used to invest.

The best method of money laundering available right now is exchanging material from the second earth for crypto. Then, they exchange it for money.

"I could do one better if I could find black market salesmen on a second Earth. Since I can make the excuse that the item I found was mine and not bought."

Oliver planned a way to turn his black money into white.

"For that, I need to first register as a hunter."

Currently, Oliver has yet to register with SMB or the Hunter Association. Although SMB would already have data on him, he needed to register and get an ID card before he could register at the Hunter association.

"At least, I don’t have to join the damned Hero Union," Oliver said and went back to being lazy.

The next day, early morning, another email graced his eyes. It was from the military, or to be specific, Thunder Emperor.

"To complete your admittance into Hero Academy, you need to join the Hero Union and send me your ID info. I will take care of everything else."

Hero Academy was the university that taught hero courses. Oliver was supposed to go and find demons who might have infiltrated the university, according to the mission he was given.

"Damn it." Oliver cursed and hopped out of his bed.

The fact that he, a villain, had to attend college with the heroes made him incensed.

"Anyway, I hope that I fail."

The recruitment standards for Hero Academy were very high. In reality, he had no chance of getting admitted into the college.

But because of the Thunder Emperor, it might change.

As an older generation S-rank hero, he could technically recommend students with potential. And the Hero Union would most likely not reject them.

However, Oliver still prayed that he would be rejected.

He had no reason to go to Hero Academy.

He never wanted to be a hero.

The life of a hero was always on display. All his actions would be monitored, and the information about his ability would become public knowledge. For Oliver, who had many secrets, being a hero was a bad idea.

And most importantly, he would be forced to act like a goody-two-shoes all the time. That was the worst part about the deal he had made with Thunder Emperor.

Oliver was slightly regretting it.

’Only if I were stronger.’

"To break free from the chains that bound me, I need to grow stronger. I need to hunt and drain a lot of blood." He said and entered his bathroom.

He had been lazing around for the past few weeks. So, he had a lot to do this week.

"Money."

"Investing."

"Money laundering."

"Blood sac expansion."

"Registering."

"Aw! Fuck!" Oliver groaned and entered the bathroom.

Immediately, his eyes fixed on his brother brushing his teeth.

"What are you looking at?" Oliver asked.

His brother was looking at him as if he were the devil. His eyes were wide, his pupils dilated, and he gripped the toothbrush tightly, looking like a deer caught in headlights.

After he saw Oliver jump down from the behemoth that flew above their house, Arin was like that.

For some reason, he looked at Oliver with more respect and a little bit of doubt.

He was finding it difficult to adjust to the idea that his loser brother had changed for the good.

"Nothing." He replied.

Then, he moved his body away from the sink while politely bowing. He looked like he was worshipping him.

"The Fuck!" Oliver lifted his eyebrows.

"Please." Arin pointed at the sink and moved away.

Was he being sarcastic? Oliver didn’t know. But he was not going to spend time figuring that out.
