Chapter 58: -53- The effect of Transcendent Blood
Chapter 58: -53- The effect of Transcendent Blood
Mischief was mischief.
When Sebastian noticed that Charlotte was showing signs of impatience, he immediately became serious.
He stood up, elegantly brushed the dust off his clothes, and bowed to the still stunned Casimodo, saying with a slight smile,
"Lord Casimodo, we’re departing now, and the honorable task of guarding the mansion is left to you."
Having said that, Sebastian laughed heartily, elegantly leapt, and also boarded the extended carriage.
The carriage door closed, and the burly deacon driving the carriage shouted "Ya," and the carriage slowly started moving.
It was not until the carriage was far away that Casimodo reacted, his expression changed slightly as he hastily ordered the male servant beside him,
"Quick! Prepare the carriage! We’ll chase after them!"
Only at this moment did a lazy meow come from upstairs. The Black Cat Nisi twisted its fluffy ball-like body amusingly as it descended the stairs, all the while languidly yawning,
"Meow-ha... The Duke’s household’s little dried fish are really not bad at all! The maids’ long legs are so white too!"
"The drinks are great; Master Cat had a really comfortable sleep last night!"
"Beautiful Miss Charlotte, how did you rest last night?"
After speaking, it looked around, trying to find a familiar petite figure.
But all it saw were bustling male and female servants, and a flustered Casimodo preparing to board a hastily readied carriage.
And the familiar figure was not inside the carriage.
"Meow? Where’s Miss Charlotte?"
Nisi tilted its head in confusion.
"Lord Nisi! The master has been taken away by Sebastian of the Rose Association! I need to catch up quickly!"
Casimodo spoke urgently.
Having said that, he shouted "Ya," drove off, and kicked up a cloud of dust.
"Meow cough cough cough..."
Nisi got a noseful of dust and coughed several times. Only then did its freshly awake brain catch up, and its cat eyes widened in shock:
"Meow?"
"Meow meow meow?!"
"What? Sebastian took away the great Miss Charlotte?!"
"Damn! This shameless guy! To think he’d steal from the house while Master Cat wasn’t paying attention! Too underhanded!"
Having exclaimed, it scuttled after the carriage with short legs, puffing and panting, and didn’t forget to cast a speed-enhancement magic on itself, gasping out,
"Casimodo! Wait for me! I want to go too! Meow—!"
...
Meanwhile, inside the Rose Association’s custom extended luxury carriage,
Charlotte was sitting on a soft silk velvet cushion, face-to-face with Sebastian, who had removed his mask and held an expression of respect.
This carriage was much bigger than the Castel’s, desirably luxurious and adorned everywhere with Elf-style decorations.
There was also gentle, soothing music flowing softly, the sound of an Array in the corner singing an ethereal Elf ballad.
On the side shelf of the carriage, various exquisite and elegant bottles of red wine, milk, blood vials, and goblets were displayed.
One could imagine how much the owner of this carriage enjoyed luxury on a daily basis.
"Magnificent master, would you like to drink milk, or would you prefer fresh blood?"
Sebastian elegantly picked up what appeared to be the most exquisitely bottled milk and a small red bottle exuding faint magic waves, with a smile full of propriety and respect,
"The milk comes from the Immortal Spirit Horned Bull of the Moon Forest on Moon God Island. It has a rich and sweet taste, full of nutrition, beneficial for the growth of your Holy Body."
"The blood is the essence blood of the Second Tier Demon Beast, the Two-legged Flying Dragon, preserved with a special Magic Array to maintain its raw vitality, containing a trace of dragon power."
Saying this, Sebastian slightly lifted the red bottle, reverently saying,
"Sebastian recommends you try the blood of the Two-legged Flying Dragon."
"Last night I noticed that you were drinking the most common animal blood, just crudely preserved with ice, so I specially prepared this."
"Considering that your body is still a newly turned Bloodline, merely drinking regular blood may not fully satisfy your body’s blood thirst, only delaying the onset of the Blood Curse..."
"I’m aware that for someone like you, the Blood Curse within your body is of no concern, and drinking blood has become a pleasure for you..."
"However, given that your power has just started to resurge, consuming the blood of Transcendent beings or intelligent life would be more beneficial to the restoration of your strength."
Blood... curse?
Charlotte felt a movement in her heart.
This was a new term related to the Bloodline that she heard, wondering if it was the same as the so-called blood addiction.
She hadn’t felt any side effects from drinking horse blood during this time, at least the blood addiction had always been resolved.
Still, looking at the red vial that Sebastian had picked up, and seeing the thick, lustrous red liquid inside, her body instinctively experienced a strong craving.
However, Charlotte quickly suppressed this slight desire.
She didn’t directly answer Sebastian’s question, but leaned against the carriage window, calmly looking at him.
Her beautiful deep blue eyes carried an iciness and maturity that didn’t match her young appearance, as well as a sense of aloof authority.
Being quietly observed by such eyes, Sebastian unexplainably felt a bit uneasy and involuntarily averted his gaze.
"You are competent enough, but don’t play such little clever tricks again in the future."
The girl spoke indifferently.
Saying this, she gave Sebastian a meaningful look,
"I dislike being tested."
Although her tone remained calm, there was a hint of displeasure deep in her words.
