Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel
Chapter 482: -17- Unlucky Charlotte

Chapter 482: -17- Unlucky Charlotte

Charlotte thought and acted immediately.

She lowered her head and once again, her gaze fell upon the Crimson Star Sea, pondering which star would be the better choice.

Only those with Bloodline powers would have their corresponding stars appear in the Crimson Star Sea.

Among these stars were not only Blood Heirs but also Blood Servants, those who had gained the power of the Bloodline, and even beings that had been cursed by the Blood Heirs just as Sebastian once had.

For this reason, choosing a lucky player was, in a sense, like opening a mystery box.

Blood Summon had a "cooldown," and Charlotte felt that it was not necessary to extravagantly use Divine Power to refresh the ability just to gather intelligence, so she needed to be more cautious in her selection.

With this in mind, Charlotte took a deep breath, her eyes instantly turning golden-red as she keenly sensed the state of these Crimson stars.

The most noticeable aspect was the intensity of their aura.

As the Master of Holy Scripture, Charlotte could distinctly sense the approximate strength of Bloodline power from each Crimson star.

That determined their power level.

However, with Sebastian’s "unexpected" case as a precedent, Charlotte knew this was not entirely reliable, though it was approximately accurate.

After all... nobody could exclude the possibility of encountering another unfortunate soul like Sebastian.

Beyond that was the pure aura.

Nearly two years had passed, and having dealt extensively with both the Blood Demon Church and the Blood Heirs of the Falling Star Kingdom, Charlotte had come to recognize the distinct auras of these two types of Blood Heirs.

Through the subtle differences in aura from these stars, she could roughly discern which stars might belong to Blood Heirs from the Shedite Clan and which might be from Nais’s lineage.

Take, for example, that cluster of stars.

Perhaps when single, Charlotte’s perception wouldn’t be so precise, but with dozens gathered, the aura resembling that of the Shedite’s Blood Heirs was almost marinated in their presence.

So many from the Shedite Clan gathered in one place, with varying intensities of Bloodline power, and headed in the direction of the slums of the Outer City District of Lutecia, with numerous weaker stars scattered on the periphery like satellites, eerily resembling lower-income members roaming the outskirts...

On the whole, it was nearly as if they had "We are a stronghold of the Blood Demon Church" written across their faces.

Charlotte intuitively skipped over these Bloodline beings.

She had already planned to report them and did not wish to entangle herself with them any further, especially since there was a particularly powerful individual among them, stronger than Yulster whom she knew; at least a Peak-strength Blood Count, and possibly even a Duke.

Charlotte did not want to startle the wildlife.

She turned her attention to the stars that were closer to her, or rather, within a five-kilometer radius centered on herself.

This area encompassed both the wealthier districts of the Inner and Outer City Districts of Lutecia.

In Charlotte’s view, Bloodline beings active in this region were more likely to interact with the Nobles, and compared to the identity of a Blood Demon Cultist, were also more likely to be those Blood Heirs who had hidden their identities, living covertly in the Royal Capital.

Charlotte sensed the aura of each one, only to find somewhat frustratingly that these Blood Heirs were uniformly from the Shedite Clan.

"All from Shedite? Could they all be members of the Blood Demon Church?" she wondered, with a hint of suspicion in her gaze.

This was another limitation of the Crimson Star Sea.

While Charlotte had memorized the distinct aura of the Shedite Clan, she could not ascertain the Blood Heirs’ allegiance through their Bloodline power.

That is, she could not accurately determine what these stars represented the Blood Heirs to believe.

Charlotte was not keen on summoning individuals from the Blood Demon Church, and belonging to the Shedite Clan did not necessarily mean one was a fanatic follower of the Blood Demon Duke.

However, after giving it some thought, she decided not to worry about it.

Let it be.

As long as she could gather the intelligence she needed, that was enough.

It would be best if they were not members of the Blood Demon Church; in that case, there was a chance she could plant a Blood Heir within the Royal Capital to develop new Blood Favored.

But if her luck was poor and she indeed selected a Blood Demon Cultist, she would simply eliminate them after gathering the necessary information.

Thinking of this, Charlotte’s gaze started drifting across the nearby stars once more.

After some picking and choosing, her sight settled around two kilometers to her southeast.

Those were several crimson stars deep within the Inner City, gathered together just the same.

There were no small number of them, seven in total, and among them, one star’s aura wasn’t weak. It almost resembled Yulster’s, leading Charlotte to guess it probably belonged to a Blood Count.

As for the others, judging from their aura, their strengths ranged from Baron to Viscount.

"So many Bloodline individuals gathered together, and in the Inner City at that, could it be some kind of Bloodline meeting?"

Charlotte pondered with curiosity.

Unlike the Outer City District, hiding one’s identity in the Inner City was significantly challenging. This wasn’t Bold, riddled with the infiltrations of the Blood Demon Church, but rather the most central region of the Holy Royal Court’s New Moon Diocese.

The Blood Demon Church must be insane to gather here.

Several Legendary Clergy were stationed not far away, their sensing abilities formidable. Should any reckless Blood Demon Cultist stir up trouble, they would probably smell it and come immediately.

Especially since these stars were located closest to the Lutecia Cathedral.

Are they not afraid of the Holy Royal Court’s Shedite Bloodline?

Charlotte couldn’t help but grow curious.

Her gaze carefully scanned those stars and finally rested on the one with the strongest aura.

Although these stars were clearly together, this one was a bit farther from the others, likely staying apart on its own.

Being the strongest and most likely the most knowledgeable, and though possessing the power of the Blazing Sun, if it got into the Dark Night Ancient Castle, she could tackle it with Bloodline Suppression.

All things considered, it was the most suitable option.

With this thought in mind, Charlotte channelled the Blood Holy Scripture, activating the "Blood Summon" and chose that twinkling red star...

The "Blood Summon" was activated, and a crimson brilliance bloomed within the Dark Night Ancient Castle. Deep within, Charlotte felt as though she had grasped onto something.

She knew it was the "Bloodline Soul" she had chosen to summon.

Her heart stirred slightly, and the other party crossed through the void, forcibly pulled over by her.

In an instant, stars twinkled, and a crimson mist spread swiftly.

A strong and dark aura, along with the spreading mist, appeared inside the Dark Night Ancient Castle.

As the mist dispersed, the unfortunate soul summoned appeared before Charlotte.

It was an old man dressed in a black robe.

His expression was filled with worship and fanaticism, his profound eyes brimming with madness, holding a magic book blackened with blood and candle smoke in one hand, while his other hand was slightly raised in a gesture of prayer.

Clearly... he had been dragged over while engaged in some nefarious prayer ritual.

He momentarily froze, his fanatical expression quickly replaced by astonishment and bewilderment, seemingly unaware of why he had suddenly appeared here.

As his vision swept over the walls of the Dark Night Ancient Castle and the Holy Emblem made of thorns and roses, and finally landed on Charlotte, shrouded in crimson mist upon the high platform, astonishment and bewilderment quickly turned to fear and shock.

"Dark... Dark Night God?!"

He exclaimed with a trembling voice, overflowing with fear.

Sensing that familiar, detestable aura on him, and seeing his unchanging black priest’s robe, Charlotte was immediately speechless...

Damn...

A complete "card draw" misfortune.

He really was a Blood Demon Cultist!

Cavin here, I’ve only managed to squeeze out this much by the deadline, so today’s a bit shorter, sorry.

Also, I’d like to recommend a friend’s book, Qi Miao’s new book, "Shepherd’s Secret Continuation," on Amber Liu’s recommended list; it’s a great read.
