Chapter 407: -155- You... are Blood Demon!

Chapter 407: -155- You... are Blood Demon!

After instructing soldiers to send the Third Prince away, Count Linte returned to the camp.

As a Second Tier Silver Moon Transcendent Knight, his power was absolutely top-notch on the battlefield.

He swung his long sword, erupting in pale violet Source Power, and single-handedly carved a bloody path through the camp...

The Allied Forces had completely collapsed.

Come nightfall, the camp was in utter chaos.

"Duchess Eleanor! Duchess Eleanor!"

Count Linte struggled to fight his way back to the camp, searching and calling out all the while.

The released Source Power and immense strength were very conspicuous in the night, and combined with his shouts, soon attracted the Night Raiders’ attention.

Naturally, the Bloodline disguised as mercenaries and Blood Servants began their organized attack on him.

As he personally engaged in combat, Count Linte quickly realized something off about these Night Raiders.

Compared to the Transcendents he knew, these men were like children of darkness, their movements unpredictable and excessively elusive during the battle.

Yet, his thoughts were largely occupied with the missing Duchess Eleanor.

Though he felt something odd about these Night Raiders, he didn’t ponder it deeply, merely guessing they might be Yonette Transcendent mercenaries hired by Castel in advance.

With the strength of a Second Tier Silver Moon, these Night Raiders were not enough to detain him.

Finally, after chopping down another "mercenary" trying to ambush him, Count Linte finally made it back to where the Third Prince had been stationed.

"Duchess Eleanor! Duchess Eleanor!"

He continued to shout loudly.

However, apart from the soldiers fleeing everywhere, there was nothing in the devastated camp.

"Duchess Eleanor! Have you seen Duchess Eleanor?"

Count Linte angrily grabbed an Allied Forces soldier, asking frantically.

With a terrified and blank expression, the soldier shook his head.

"Ah!"

Count Linte sighed deeply and released the man.

"Duchess Eleanor—!"

He resumed his shouts.

"Duchess Eleanor? Hey! Brave knight sir, are you looking for this lady?"

While Count Linte was desperately searching, a gentle yet lazy male voice sounded behind him.

Count Linte instantly became alert and quickly turned around, only to see, without knowing from when, a young man dressed as a mercenary had appeared behind him.

In the arms of the young man was the unconscious Duchess Eleanor.

"Duchess Eleanor!"

Count Linte’s expression shifted.

Noticing his anxious gaze, the young man dressed as a mercenary chuckled and said,

"Don’t worry, this lady has merely fallen asleep temporarily."

Count Linte then closely examined the mercenary before him.

However, although dressed as a mercenary, his clothes were new and neat, even the armor bore not a single scratch, unlike the weathered appearance typical of seasoned mercenaries.

More importantly, although the man stood right there, Count Linte couldn’t sense his presence at all.

This made him instantly vigilant, a warning blaring in his mind:

This was a Transcendent in disguise as a mercenary.

And... very powerful!

More Night Raiders draped in black cloaks surrounded them from all directions, and respectfully stood behind the young man.

Count Linte instantly realized that this powerful Transcendent might well be the leader of the night raiders this evening.

"You... you are not mercenaries! Who exactly are you? I do not remember there being such Transcendents in the Northern Land!"

Count Linte said with a solemn expression.

The young man smiled and said,

"Knight, you jest. Have you seen the badge on our chests? We’re all ordained Transcendent mercenaries by the Mercenary Association!"

Count Linte glanced at the brand-new Mercenary Association badge on the other’s chest, then swiftly assessed the strength difference between them, and without hesitation, he turned to retreat.

However, he had barely taken a step back when he felt an intense sense of danger.

Count Linte instinctively unleashed his source power to resist but felt an overwhelming magic power strike him from behind.

The violent magic power surged into his body, and he couldn’t help but spit out a mouthful of fresh blood, his source power was instantly locked, and he quickly lost control over his body.

"Blazing Sun! You are... Blazing Sun!"

Count Linte’s eyes widened.

Next came rage,

"As a Blazing Sun... you dare violate the ’Mireya War Regulations’! Are you not afraid of repercussions from the Holy Royal Court and the Royal Family?!"

The young man scoffed,

"The ’Mireya War Regulations’? Ha! What do the rules established by the Holy Royal Court and the kingdoms have to do with us?"

He shook his head, disdainfully continuing,

"Besides, if you humans don’t adhere strictly to your own rules, who are you to talk about others?"

You... you humans?

Count Linte was stunned.

Moonlight poured down, illuminating his features, and also allowed Count Linte to see the other’s face clearly.

It was a man appearing to be in his thirties, handsome with a pale complexion, and a pair of blood-red eyes shimmering eerily under the moonlight.

Seeing those characteristic blood-red eyes, Count Linte’s pupils shivered, and he suddenly exclaimed,

"Blood Demon! You are... Blood Demons!"

The young man smiled faintly, though his eyes held no mirth.

He stepped forward and gently patted Count Linte’s shoulder, then slightly leaned in and said softly,

"Knight, let me correct you, we are the Bloodline."

"Of course, you may also call us noble Bloodline heirs or the progeny of the True Ancestor, but whatever you do, please do not compare us with those filthy rats..."

Count Linte’s expression shifted, he wanted to struggle, but as soon as his eyes met the other’s blood-red eyes, he quickly felt dizzy, and he soon passed out.

Seeing Count Linte fall unconscious, a member of the Bloodline stepped forward, instinctively wanting to kill him, but the young man stopped him:

"Hold on, don’t kill him yet."

"Count Yulster, he knows our identity, didn’t you say... to kill all who recognize us?"

The stepping forward Bloodline asked respectfully.

Count Yulster shook his head gently:

"He’s different, he’s a noble amongst humans, and his position shouldn’t be too humble."

"Let’s spare his life, erase his memory, it’s a bit of a hassle, but it’s more useful than killing him."

Saying so, he glanced at the unconscious Count Linte, and narrowed his eyes slightly:

"Light purple source power, and the Purple Lion Badge... If I’m not mistaken, he must be from the Bowat-Linte family, and he is likely a high-ranking commander in the Violet Army."

"Bind him, and let’s take him as a captive, hand him over to our origins... er, allies, shall we?"
