Chapter 322: -78- Audience with ’God’_2
Following that, a scarlet mist boiled up, massive columns and stone walls burst from the ground and slowly towered amid a thunderous rumble.
Black reliefs transformed on the columns and stone walls, faintly sketching a vivid and mysterious mural surrounded by intricately beautiful thorny roses.
Yulster looked around, shocked by the rapidly changing scenery.
As the crimson mist gradually vanished, he found himself standing within a majestic and solemn ancient castle, every decoration perfectly aligning with the Bloodline’s aesthetic.
Mysterious, bizarre, yet faintly exuding holiness and solemnity.
"Is... is this the Dark Night Ancient Castle?!"
Looking around at the mysterious and solemn architecture, Count Yulster couldn’t help exclaiming, almost jumping in surprise.
The Dark Night Ancient Castle...
The supreme sanctuary where the Blood True Ancestor summoned the Descendants of Blood, though Count Yulster had only entered once with the Duke when he was young, the memory remained deeply etched in his mind.
Memories of a millennium gradually awakened, his eyelids twitching as he gazed at the familiar decorations around him.
However, as his gaze fell on the wall’s reliefs and murals, he quickly fell into confusion.
The reliefs and murals did not depict the legends of the creation of the Bloodline and the battles of the divine positions recorded in the castle of the Blood True Ancestor where he resided in the depths of his memory; instead, it was a story he had never seen before.
In the scarlet mist, there were four distinct reliefs and murals.
One depicted a seemingly evil yet holy sacrifice.
A girl bound to a cross, a huge Sacrificial Array, a pain-filled demonic priest wailing, and hundreds of living corpses falling backward...
Another depicted a majestic and solemn ceremony of submission.
A tall female figure sitting upon a throne, her face unclear, the mysterious and imposing brightly shining thorny rose, and below the steps, a Flame Elf kneeling on one knee, his face full of zeal and longing...
Another depicted a vast battle.
A city under the darkness of night, a fierce demon trying to break free from a seal, a female deity proudly standing above in the sky, and in the deity’s hand, a Light sword that merely glancing at it one could feel its supreme might slashing towards the demon...
Finally, it depicted a prayer ceremony.
Thorny roses erect upon the altar, a hooded preacher, a werewolf priest appearing fanatical as if loudly singing the name of God to his companions, and below the Holy Emblem, rows of devout Believers listening to the teachings...
No...
This should not be the Dark Night Ancient Castle of the True Ancestor, the Dark Night Ancient Castle of the True Ancestor didn’t depict such stories, and... I haven’t heard any of these tales either.
Looking at the four sets of relief murals, Yulster slowly calmed down, feeling a slight relief in his heart.
Though the Blood True Ancestor had become a part of history and legend, his imposing presence still lingered.
He was truly startled when he first saw the scenery around him, even more nervous and horrified than when Elder Maxim had caught him.
But...
This place does really resemble it!
Count Yulster’s gaze swept around, the more he looked, the stronger the sense of déjà vu.
Putting aside the reliefs and murals symbolizing divine legends, this place truly greatly resembled the True Ancestor’s Ancient Castle deep in his memory!
"Have you seen enough, descendant from the Nais Clan?"
A ethereal and lofty female voice came from all around.
Ethereal, mysterious, mature, and yet seemingly carrying a strange charm.
The voice was so melodious, like a compelling divine song, and seemed to hold supreme majesty, involuntarily evoking a feeling of inherent reverence and longing.
When that voice rang next to Yulster’s ear, he felt his heart stop for a moment, every vein in his body seemed to boil instantly, as if stirred by that ethereal and mysterious sound.
A reverence, seemingly originating from both bloodline and soul, slowly spread through his heart...
Such powerful spiritual power, able to so easily stir my transcendent bloodline!
Yulster was startled and quickly withdrew his gaze from the relief and murals.
All transcendence originates from the gods, and the mighty power of deities can suppress the transcendent forces of the mundane world.
But to so easily shake his bloodline, aside from the long-vanished Blood True Ancestor, the Prince who led the major Bloodline Clans, and Divine Lord Haral who had once waged war against the Bloodline Clans, this was his first encounter!
Yulster’s gaze swept around, seeking the source of the voice, and after a fruitless circle, he could only kneel down on the spot, his face filled with reverence as he spoke,
"Mysterious and Great Your Majesty, please forgive Yulster’s rudeness..."
With that, he hesitated for a moment, then mustered his courage and spoke through gritted teeth,
"Mysterious and Great Your Majesty, Yulster... wishes to request your audience and seeks... your help!"
Yulster’s voice echoed throughout the solemn ancient castle.
He bowed his head, feeling anxious as he awaited the god’s response.
He knew that for an unfamiliar deity, his request might seem presumptuous, especially since... he had not prepared any altar or offerings.
But now, Yulster couldn’t bother about that.
He had never felt the wait for a response to be so interminably long.
Each second of silence felt like a year had passed.
With silence came immense pressure, and just as Yulster grew more anxious and tense, a ethereal, heavenly voice finally rang out again,
"Step forward."
As soon as the words were spoken, the ground of the ancient castle began to tremble, and the crimson fog rolled once more.
Yulster felt a surge of spirit, looked up, and saw the fog in front of him dispersing to either side, revealing the constantly shifting ground, like living slabs of stone spreading and flipping, layer by layer building, forming a staircase directly ahead...
After a brief hesitation, Yulster stepped forward, ascending the staircase.
When he reached the top of the stairs, he saw a high platform in front of him, on which sat a dignified and solemn antique throne, surrounded by intricate thorny roses, and atop the throne, a woman dressed in a black divine robe lazily leaned, resting her chin in her hand, looking at him with interest.
In the confusing fog, Yulster could not clearly make out the woman’s features, only discerning the mysterious, splendid crimson golden eyes and silky silver hair through the mist.
Even so, he could feel the divinity and majesty, ancientness and vastness emanating from her, an unparalleled allure and excellence that even the fog could not obscure.
Yulster felt this blurry image seemed strangely familiar.
Yet when he tried to remember carefully, it was as if he couldn’t recall anything. After a slight hesitation, he even forgot what he was trying to remember, only feeling that the deity before him was so mysterious and beautiful, even with her face obscured...
Yulster dared not look any longer, fearful of angering this mysterious female deity.
He took a deep breath, quickly and respectfully bowed, and reintroduced himself:
"Descendant of the Nais Clan, fourth generation Bloodline, Count Yulster Nais, I have seen the Mysterious and Great Your Majesty..."
"May your glory shine upon the world forever, may all honor return to your throne!"
As Yulster offered his respectful, almost flattering praise, the "goddess" on the throne chuckled lightly.
She slightly shifted her position, casually laying one slender, fair leg over the other, while tapping the armrest of the throne, she smiled faintly and said,
"Descendant of the Nais’s Bloodline, I’m already aware of your purpose, call me Dark Night."
With that, her gaze through the mist grew deeper, her tone somewhat playful:
"I always adhere to the principle of equivalent exchange. Since you wish to seek my help, then... what price can you pay?"
