Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride -
Chapter 395 - 395: Drevnos A Beautiful City
The territory of Drevnos was both beautiful and filled with history. It was a place ruled by the Everen family since the humans reached this land, and monsters started playing in the shadows. The clan of Everen was one of the rare clans that chose to remain in the light and faced the world head-on.
The SSS, as it's known today, started with a member of the human government, the head of the Everen family, and help from the Tepes and Nosferatu clans, who remained in the dark.
"This information is quite interesting."
"Nikolai, it's too hot to care about these documents right now!"
In the huge jeep, Alexei sat in the passenger seat, while Amphitrite, Lunaria and Nikolai were in the back, with a large amount of room and a table to check the mission plans and maps of the territory of Drevnos.
A second and third jeep followed them a few hours behind, with fully armed maid units including Leona and even Kumiko.
However, Nikolai accepted them to help with the escape, not the infiltration.
The main mansion of the Everen family sat on the beautiful rocky cliffs of the northern coast, though lacking a beach for commercial appeal, the defensive benefits stopped the weaker Everen family from falling for thousands of years.
"Hmm... it seems that the Everen's power is quite interesting."
"What can they do?"
Lunaria jumped at Nikolai, asking him a question.
"The Everen family is unique because they have both a werewolf branch and a vampire branch... usually, the werewolves serve as the bodyguards and protectors..."
"What about the vampires?"
"Well, it seems their blood can detect lies, or rather, it's some kind of truth serum."
"Oh my, that sounds useful."
Amphitrite, resting with her eyes closed, suddenly joined the conversation, leaning forward, her ample bosoms jiggling in her loose summer dress.
"It is." Alaric's low voice rumbled in the jeep. "This ability allowed them to remain in the high council of vampires for the longest time, blood ties to the Evern family might even be more appreciated than the highest clans right now... no the Báthory clan might be the most sought after."
His eyes left the road for a moment to peek at Nikolai.
'That reminds me...'
Nikolai's aunts became busy after they visited Nosferatu's island and stopped coming to the mansion. He tried to ask his grandfather, but he just mentioned a ritual and kept it a secret.
"Where is your father, Young Patriarch?"
Alaric asked about Ivan several times over the past week, which made Nikolai more doubtful; he didn't know where his father was, since he had given him another mission.
But he wouldn't tell a traitor this; of all his women, only Kumiko knew the truth because her clone supported him. 'Giving my dad an order was a little awkward... but he looked so damn happy.'
A complicated feeling, being the Patriarch meant he was above his father, which went against his human upbringing, where family, especially parents, were pretty much divine.
'Mother seemed happier though, since she's able to linger in my dad's wedding ring...'
"I don't know, he mentioned having something to do and vanished."
Because Alaric didn't know Nikolai well, he missed his tell. However, Amphitrite and Lunaria both looked at him with widened eyes.
"His brows furrowed..."
"The crease between them means..."
The two women looked at each other and nodded, realising a hidden truth as their bodies visually moved away from Alaric. When Nikolai lied or spoke to someone he didn't trust, his eyebrows would furrow, making a small crease in the middle.
"I see, well... let me know if something comes up."
Nikolai nodded while pretending to read the holiday brochure for the city of Drevnos, known for its fish and bustling nightlife, which is different from the capital.
They planned on visiting a club, but the main plan was to enter through the sea and climb the white walls, which would be easier to escape. So, Alaric's team will enter through the docks, which will cause a distraction.
Nikolai would enter with his team from the eastern coastal wall.
The attack would occur tomorrow because of a special event at the mansion itself, 'it seems to be their young heirs coming of age ceremony.' This ceremony would bring in hundreds of people, both guests and staff.
'They wouldn't expect an attack in such a busy time.'
A perfect chance for an attack because the Everen family was lacking in the number of warriors, relying mainly on the werewolves who didn't possess any magnificent power, just a C-grade bloodline, enough to stop all humans and most thugs in the supernatural world. At the same time, there were many SSS Anti-Monster grade weapons.
Nikolai wound the window down, leaning against the frame with his black shades, letting the wind blow through his hair as he watched the horizon change.
From the flatlands and fields full of wheat and corn, they reached a forested area, where hills began to form.
"Dear."
Amphitrite whispered, and he looked back at her. She held a small cup with a fizzy red liquid... the scent was slightly alcoholic, but he couldn't help but take it. "How did you remember?" It was his favourite sangria with blood, lemon, oranges, a refreshing drink he enjoyed on hot afternoons.
Amphitrite only chuckled at his question, which caused Nikolai to frown.
"I heard you speaking about this drink several times... don't you remember?"
"No... but this does taste good, thank you, Amphitrite."
Amphitrite blushed because of his genuine words; she didn't mind that he couldn't remember. She paid attention to it out of affection, unable to stop herself falling deeper for him with each day that passed.
Nikolai pretended to be nonchalant but turned away, looking at the beautiful horizon filled with an endless blue sea. 'How can she remember such a small thing?!' She even chose the correct colour of the oranges and his favourite temperature to chill.
The fant fizz was at the correct level, and the alcohol wasn't too high, but it felt good because of the blood.
Lunaria's eyes narrowed while focusing on Nikolai and Amphitrite.
She noticed the rapid changes after the pair made love... 'I hate this!' Despite wanting to take a step forward, she lacked the skills and patience.
However, her feelings kept growing with each passing day.
But there was still a distance between them, an emotional wall she couldn't overcome; he wasn't indifferent to her and showed a lot of kindness, but... that last line. Even the ginger maid managed to cross it, which made her more frustrated. She was his wife, and Luna, yet their bond remained like childhood friends.
"Babe, I won't do anything dangerous, of course... I love you too.... yeah... Mmm..."
Unaware of the situation, Alexei's voice sounded as he put down his phone. "We will arrive in about two hours, so if you want to rest, it might be best to do it now. Once we arrive it'll be quite hectic until tomorrow night."
"Good point." Alaric grinned, and he loosened up his shirt. "Patriarch, you should rest well."
The two women beside Nikolai started to clean up the table and pack things away while Nikolai remained calm, gazing out the window with a peaceful expression. He thought it was too hot and stifling in the car, so he didn't care about the sexual tension.
"Damn it's hot..." He muttered before unfastening his shirt. "Phew!"
"Wow!"
"Nikolai!?"
Alaric and Alexei chuckled at his action, removing his shirt and baring his scarred, muscular torso. Lunaria and Amphitrite froze, eyes wide, cheeks red, and bodies rigid, staring at their husband, unable to stop themselves from thirsting.
"Dear... are you trying to commit a war crime?" Amphitrite joked, leaning closer to Nikolai as she turned on the cooling fans, pointing hers towards him.
On the other hand, Lunaria watched from the third seat, 'why did I refuse to sit next to him... foolish woman!' She cursed herself, but it was too late for her to move, so all she could do was sit quietly and watch his chiselled abs, covered with smooth, marble-like tanned skin.
Like this, the journey continued... two hours passing in the blink of an eye.
***
Drevnos was built five hundred years after the war... inspired by a town in Italia called Vennica. It had canals, wide streets, and a bustling population of over two million humans, and it was a crucial location for the supernatural due to the fishing and tourism.
A beautiful city to take your wife or girlfriend... and Nikolai would use it to show his love to both women, a secret only he and Alexei knew... but if Amphitrite or Lunaria realised, they might tip off Alaric and ruin his plan to take them both on a date. Alexei's wife was already waiting at the hotel they had booked.
'I'm glad Alaric booked his own place... otherwise this surprise would fail.'
Despite what she thought, Nikolai was aware of his slight distance from Lunaria, a woman he held special and struggled to approach usually because he wanted to give her the best after what happened.
Maybe she would be happier to get railed in his bed at the mansion.
However, he wanted to make more effort...
'Am I just a fool?'
