Blood apostle
Chapter 74

Chapter 74 - 74

The air grew heavier with every step.

Kiro moved through the stone gulch, guided by instinct, Blood Sense, and a strange pull—not from the System, but from something older. Something deeper than code or mutation.

The ravine opened into a bowl of shattered obsidian, where twisted statues of beasts and stars loomed. A wind, dry and constant, blew upward from cracks in the earth.

At its center lay a shrine built into the bones of a giant.

Chains of glass-light and flesh-metal spiraled around a throne.

And on it sat a creature older than words.

Tall—though hunched—its skin was etched with starmaps, its mouth sewn shut with black thread. Its eyes, closed. Its limbs, long and slender, ending in fingers shaped like fractured keys.

Kiro stepped closer.

The creature stirred.

The System hissed.

[UNKNOWN ENTITY DETECTED – SPECIES: Naught (Ancient-Class)][Survivor Status: Singular][Alert: Dimensional Binding in Effect – Power Sealed][Cross-referencing lore: The Naught were the First Mapmakers. Star-Weavers. They navigated the Void before gods.]

The alien's eyes opened.

Black.

Depthless.

And yet somehow... recognizing.

It looked at Kiro not as a stranger—but as a consequence.

"Why... am I here?" Kiro whispered.

The creature raised a chained hand—and touched its temple.

A wave of memory hit Kiro like fire:

He saw a throne in the Void.

A Blood God screaming as it was devoured by shadows.

The Naught standing between the gods and the abyss—then chained, betrayed, erased.

And then... himself, crashing toward Nightfell, pulled from trajectory by a pulse that shouldn't exist.

A beacon.

A trap.

Or a summon.

The alien finally spoke—not with voice, but mind.

"You carry the Rotting Flame... The God's Wound. We called. You answered."

Kiro staggered back. "The Blood System?"

"It is the corpse of what we once served.""You, child of war, are the seed of its rebirth.""I am the last Naught. Bound by oath. But I can free you... or devour you."

Kiro's fists clenched.

"If you wanted me dead, I'd be dead."

The Naught's chains shifted, whispering.

"Correct. We need you alive. But not untested."

From the earth, three figures rose.

Twisted. Deformed. Carved from shadows and bone.

Nightfell's guardians.

"Survive. And I will teach you what the Empire and the Voidlings never will."

Kiro cracked his neck.

"Bring it."
