Chapter 57: LVII. Beautiful Girl
"Brother Sha, off you go. Since you’ve never mentioned your hometown, I’ll keep your share of the money. Safe travels."
Rein believed Morison was definitely dead. It had been a long time since the signal was sent with no response.
Although the man had perished, it wasn’t a big deal. Zahak had at least been worn out a bit. If he dared to come back here, he and Ox would surely make him regret it.
One thousand and two hundred Golden Dragons, one less person to share with, take off!
Rein still cautiously watched his surroundings.
Meanwhile, Ox had set down his weapons a while ago.
"Good fortune in our favor again today."
With Zahak’s sword in hand, Morison appeared leisurely on the road, the sword exceedingly striking, emitting a continuous flow of blood-red mist from its sheath.
Rein turned his head, staring at Morison as if he’d seen a ghost, then was immediately shocked by the sword in his hand.
"Zahak... is already..."
Rein guessed the outcome. It was no surprise from General Fen, instantly overwhelming heaven, earth, and air, the Iron Blood Warrior, often referred to as Little Killer.
Ox didn’t speak. Noticing Morison had not been wounded at all, and remained composed against someone of that caliber indicated it wasn’t like before. With something big on the ship, they had to be extra vigilant.
"He no longer poses any threat."
Morison spoke calmly.
"Psh, I knew it all along. A quick slice, nothing more to say."
Rein completely relaxed. By now, the main force of the Aran Constitutional Soldiers had been wiped out.
Morison glanced around the battlefield. About twenty of the Black Sail pirates had perished, but considering the enemy was the Aran Regular Army, it was a resounding victory.
Yet, in the intense battle, Rein had killed all the horses. How were they now to meet up with Liszt and the others?
"Fen is up against the Church Court’s people; we need to go back to support them. Liszt and the others haven’t arrived yet, someone must check on their situation."
Ox made his decision. Although Zahak was dead, it was not yet over. They had to wait until everyone was on the ship and out to sea, without any pursuit, before things could be considered settled.
Shortly after, Ox made a decision, sending the fleet-footed Rein to find Liszt and the others, while he and Morison absolutely had to secure the ship.
Before Ox could give the order.
At that moment, a pirate in the woods found a horse that was still alive.
Morison immediately suggested he ride the horse to find Liszt and his crew.
On the road, battered by torrential rain,
The atmosphere became somewhat tense.
Ox did not reply immediately, he fastened the Special Large Sword onto his back with an iron clasp, holding the Special Large Blade in his hand. He worried that Morison would not return.
Morison was familiar with Heaven Port, he knew where Black Sail had claimed territory as a base, and he knew the origin of all the key members. With his capabilities, by calling a few good hands, it would be hard to keep what was big on the ship.
The remaining sixty-some pirates had already gathered the spoils of war, their share of the bounty secured.
Seven or eight seconds passed.
Ox was still considering his options.
Suddenly, the sound of galloping hooves echoed from the distance down the road, and everyone immediately prepared for the worst. It wasn’t just a few riders, but a column of about thirty, advancing through the rain.
"No worries, it’s the Captain and his crew returning."
Rein, with his excellent eyesight, couldn’t make out facial features at that distance in the rainy night. However, the unique conical hat worn by Shadi stood out blatantly, brimming with an arrogance that was too conspicuous.
Rein didn’t understand what flaunting arrogance meant, but it certainly hit the mark.
Liszt’s party wasn’t an issue either. With Ox and Rein standing there, aside from Black Sail, it was hard to find such a combination.
Riding forward, Liszt was the first to reach them. Seeing bodies everywhere, both human and horse—this place was fated to be a school of geomantic omen in the future.
"Did you get the people?"
Ox was straightforward.
"We can’t just not receive it; it’s that one wrapped in a black robe."
Liszt had run all day from Lavender Town to Wind Breath Canyon, crossing mountains and ridges for dozens of miles and engaging in a fierce battle, and with the addition of the harsh weather and the jostling of the horse ride, he was so exhausted he felt like he was going to vomit blood.
The rest weren’t faring much better.
Caroso was indeed a madman from the Church Court. Although he was extremely fatigued and his gaze began to scatter, he stubbornly clung to a shred of spirit with his madman’s will, truly a superman of the Holy Spirit Sect.
Goria, who was seriously injured, was also carried on Swan’s horse, because Swan was the lightest. By this time, her lips had completely lost their color, and she was barely breathing.
The two guards could no longer be considered combatants, and the strength of the others was greatly reduced.
Ox and his two companions turned their eyes toward the mysterious person.
Because of the heavy rain, the robe was soaked, and judging from the frame, it should be a sixteen or seventeen-year-old woman. Additionally, under the delineation of the rain, her figure left little to the imagination.
"Generous crab."
Rein never imagined that Mika was such an accurate predictor, truly a busty beauty.
"Now we have no choice but to use a crab-catching net."
Morison made an explosive statement.
"F*ck, did you guys finish off all these Constitutional Soldiers? Where’s Zahak?"
Shadi rode his horse around the perimeter, surveying the mess on the ground and inquired.
"What Zahak? Brother Sha dealt with him in seconds, just a trifle."
Rein saw that the person had been caught, the main forces were killed, and the bulk of the troops had returned; the rest were just minor issues.
"Can’t say it’s a trifle, more like a moderate effort."
Morison spoke calmly.
Liszt was greatly shocked. Brother Sha was truly invincible, having taken care of the Constitutional Soldier Vice Admiral and the Sword King’s apprentice—it wouldn’t be surprising if he could even take on an alien or even Godzilla. Also, you really f*cking know how to show off.
"This must be Caroso and Goria. I’ve found something on one of these Constitutional Soldiers and need to talk to you alone."
Ox’s expressionless face already bore the intention to kill Caroso and Goria, especially now that they were extremely weak.
Liszt nodded.
Caroso watched intently as the two walked away, standing by the roadside in the distance. The sound of their conversation was washed away by the heavy rain.
Whether it was the Werewolf, the Merfolk, or the one with the disfigured face, they all exuded an extremely dangerous aura. Not to mention the pirates who were cleaning the battlefield behind them, scavenging Chain Armor and weapons, and trying their luck to see if there was any money on the bodies. The chilling cold smiles and the vulgar conversations that were unbearable to hear.
These terrifying signs forced Caroso’s extremely tired mind to summon up some spirit once again. The matter was too urgent and special; in desperation, the Earl had no choice but to resort to pirates as a last gamble, with too many uncertain factors.
Two minutes later.
Ox and Liszt had finished their discussion and walked back from the roadside.
For the moment, Ox had dismissed the notion.
"Damn, there are still people from the Church Court on shore."
Liszt realized they had to hurry back immediately; if the ship was gone, they were completely done for, with Edmond’s last words still ringing in his ears.
Just like the Thief Guild, the Constitutional Guard was likely not going to stop until they were dead. Now that they had caught the attention of both the underworld and the authorities within Aran’s borders, it was like a mixed doubles match.
If they were trapped on the East Shore and Aran sent pursuers to intensify the chase, his Pirate Gang would undoubtedly be massacred without a question; they absolutely couldn’t let this happen.
"We must rush back to the secret port with utmost urgency."
Liszt mounted his horse; at the most critical moment, they could only rely on General Fen. Heaven Port was the rightful place to take shelter.
Following Liszt’s orders.
The majority of Black Sail’s forces headed back to reinforce the secret port.
Just one last obstacle, and they would be free to roam the vast seas.
