Chapter 533: CLXII. Brutal Punishment

Chapter 533: CLXII. Brutal Punishment

The Eternal Sect is very cunning. As for your crooked dealings on Crocodile Island, I won’t give you any face. Don’t even think about sending aid; even prayers are out of the question. Damn the military police’s special express, they can go to hell.

The heavy-armored priests of the Church Court only guard around the church. The other members of the Judgement Court are resting at their posts, not concerning themselves with extraneous matters.

The power of the magic energy penetration cannon that just tore through the city wall is horrifying, making a huge noise. There’s still noise coming from a distance, but it seems the army has blocked it and brought the situation under control. The commotion and the surging crowd in the city earlier almost caused a stampede, but it’s now gradually calming down.

Sharon sighed deeply. She knew that Mulong was extremely dangerous, so she wrote a letter to warn Liszt to stay out of the matter, as national institutions and gangs are not on the same level.

Anyone who has been to Dragon Stone Square and witnessed that ten-mile wingspan otherworldly object with their own eyes would think America is no match for Aran. Sharon believed someone if they said the Emperor could grasp an atomic bomb with one hand and convert it instantly.

Magnus didn’t care about politics either; it must be a suicide attack by the Resistance Army.

He stayed in Kelor Highlands for a while to gather information. The desperation there was so intense that even as an outsider, he couldn’t bear to stay long, let alone empathize with Mulong’s citizens.

Under mental pressure, the ignorant and miserable vagrants of Mulong, whose national power is far inferior to Aran, naively believed that cutting off the railway would save them from disasters. This only eased Aran’s employment difficulties, sending a highly-paid Mr. Aran here to work as a railway worker.

Seeing the riot subside, Magnus politely asked Sharon.

"I want to find the person in charge of the Eighteenth Formation. Can you take me to him?"

Magnus believed that if Zote were killed, it would be good for Mulong as well. In any place conquered by the army, as long as there are people, there will be resistance.

However, once assimilated by the Eternal Sect, with a shift in thinking, that’s when... the sharpest knife in the world is born.

A knife cuts the flesh, a heart cuts the soul.

The true master of sword skills doesn’t use a sword, because he has no enemies.

Magnus was only one knife away from reaching this realm.

The knife that would take Zote’s life.

"Who are you?"

Because Sharon messed up the affair in the New City Industrial District, the blame was placed on her. Marcus couldn’t protect her either. There was a malevolent force among the high ranks of the sect, and as one of their people, she still had to protect the sect’s interests. Once over this period, she would be transferred back to Aran as a priest at the Cardinal Church.

"I am a friend of a former sergeant in the Secret Department, here to settle some matters."

Magnus was straightforward. Although it was unintentional, today was different, and special measures had to be taken.

Upon hearing this, Sharon knew from Marcus that Zote was quite a significant figure. People who knew him either feared and avoided him or approached with only one intention.

"After the main construction ceremony of the church, he left Black Rock City."

Sharon spoke truthfully.

Zote was a person eager for quick success and wanted to erect churches in crowded cities within the army-occupied areas. The next targets were Salt Lake City, then Silver Moon City, and after the capture of Drifting City, the same would be done.

"Is that so."

Magnus was a bit surprised.

At this moment, the same violent noise as before erupted again, causing great turmoil. The intense light from the magic-guided beam cannon in the distance lit up the night like lightning.

The third-generation magic puppets surrounded Rein, nearly three meters tall but much leaner than the bulky second-generation ones. They had significantly reduced weight despite still being made of magic ore mixed groove iron. Their slender, tall figures and the incorporation of energy channels into the body, instead of the previously exposed thick tubes, exuded a futuristic air with a faint blue energy mist.

While one hand could still launch particle arcane missiles and the other held a special large blade, both were upgraded. The missiles became more powerful with shorter firing intervals, and the large blades were now rotating chain saw swords equipped with high-frequency vibration technology, making them razor-sharp.

The previously limited mobility was also enhanced. Auxiliary movement devices were installed in the elbow joints, knee joints, and back ankles, allowing these heavy Iron Giants to move far beyond the capabilities of a normal person.

The Major General of Aran was no joke. Maneuvering around this completely berserk beast for over two minutes, he dodged all of Rein’s frenzied attacks.

As soon as the five third-generation magic puppets were successfully deployed, the Major General withdrew from the battle zone.

Though these puppets were costly, they could be continuously shipped from the homeland to Mulong within the army’s budget via railway.

Rein’s magic-guided modifications enabled his internal structure to continuously generate energy. However, this couldn’t keep up with the terrifying consumption rate. Amidst the berserk attacks, the magic energy gradually ran dry.

The frenzy potion’s concentration in his blood also diluted as the bloodlust dissipated.

Yet, Rein still hadn’t regained consciousness, continuing to slaughter out of pure instinct.

The photonic sensors locked onto the five magic puppets. Moving at astonishing speeds, the auxiliary movement devices emitted a blue glow as they darted around Rein. Energy particles converged in their left arm cannons, then fired at Rein in rapid succession.

No matter how fast Rein was, in his unconscious state, he couldn’t dodge.

All the magic missiles hit him, his flesh split open, making him look like a piece of cheese.

However, the torture circuit planted in Rein’s left arm extended to his entire body, integrating his construction circuits, making his already indestructible skeleton and muscle fibers nearly invincible. They still couldn’t penetrate him.

The five magic puppets no longer maneuvered from a distance but rapidly closed in, swinging their high-frequency vibrating chain saw swords, all aimed at Rein.

Rein did not dodge; he merely scratched instinctively but caused limited damage to these puppets. Even if his torture circuit slashed through groove iron, it made no difference unless it hit the core of the puppet.

Suffering intense pain, Rein’s consciousness gradually returned. The chain saw swords tore through flesh and went straight through the bone, even sparking violently against his all-magic-guided mechanical body, integrated by the torture circuit.

But Rein’s endurance was still too strong. He was not fully conscious, stuck in a haze of murderous dreams.

The red-hot torture circuit steamed with thick smoke due to overclocking. It had yet to unleash all of its forty-two modes, continuing to shape-shift.

Full overclocking ignited steam-like smoke from Rein’s entire body. Enraged by bloodlust, the torture circuit turned into a grinding flywheel, burning red and driven by energy straps.

Like a processing machine...

He lunged at the magic puppets.
