Chapter 354: CCCLIV. Principle
Chapter 354: CCCLIV. Principle
The Flying Knife’s force was like a cannonball, shooting out from Liszt’s hand, piercing through the layers of rain, and directly penetrating Doringger.
Doringger didn’t even try to dodge.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
It successively blasted his shoulder and arm, causing a sound reminiscent of metal clashing, yet the wound in his abdomen, visible to the naked eye, was quickly healing, and the body that Ernie had sliced into segments was already healed back to its original state.
Liszt understood that even with his current strength, he couldn’t defeat this monster; all he could do was hold it off, waiting for Wolman Claude to finish sweeping away the enemy forces and for Celeste and the others to return from inside the castle.
With justice’s group beating, they would wear down Doringger alive.
But before that, only he could stand against this monster; the others were no match for him alone.
Doringger took a deep, guttural breath and began his indiscriminate slaughter, as those at the Bay Shore were already exhausted and injured.
The situation had changed.
Now, it was Doringger’s lines that had completely collapsed. The first defensive line of the castle had been breached, the Sea God and the sea monsters of the Third Front were already out of the fight, and the second line led by Horace, Captain of the Dead Lord, and others was facing the prospect of annihilation.
Only Doringger alone could turn the tide and prop up the falling edifice.
By himself, he would kill all the rebels!
"You really have guts..."
Holding an axe in one hand, he bent his legs, leaped up, and the ground trembled and cracked beneath him, leaving a large pit as he directly leaped a hundred meters away.
Bang!
He heavily crashed to the ground.
Appearing before the already injured Shadi, Ox, Gawain, and others.
Any resistance they put up was futile; Doringger could kill everyone here with a few swings of his axe.
Liszt still needed his key players; after this battle, he’d need to suppress the East Sea to guard against outside forces.
The black and crimson shadow condensed into a whip blade; with each step he took, he covered more than ten meters, quick as a meteor, with the black light flickering and darting, the shadow of the whip blade coiling tightly around the war axe Doringger was about to swing down.
But the extremely tenacious Liszt was starting to weary Doringger, who swung the axe handle back fiercely, tossing Liszt into the air.
The whip blade instantly vaporized without a trace.
In its place, dozens of black and crimson Flying Knives, like peacock feathers, unfolded, all transformed from the boundless curse power within Liszt’s body.
They poured down like rain.
Even though this reinforced body could fight a whole day, he couldn’t waste his energy without restraint, as there were still too many madmen waiting to be slaughtered.
Swinging the war axe at an extremely fast pace, he turned the weakened remnants of the curse power into nothing.
The shadow surged; the Curse Power Sword Intent, emerging from the shadowy abyss, became several meters long columns of black threads in Liszt’s hands, corroding the thick smoke. As he swung it, evaporating the raindrops, it aimed for Doringger’s neck in a fierce slash.
One swing of the axe cut through.
His other hand was also gushing with blood-red curse power, solidifying into a cylinder, once again slashing towards Doringger.
Liszt, in mid-air, wielded both weapons in a frenzy, momentarily filling the sky with black and crimson.
Doringger, even with four hands, was too worn down to cope.
Crack!
The force slit Doringger’s neck flesh, arteries burst, gushing out exaggerated amounts of plasma, but the hardness of his neck bone was so exaggerated it could easily cut through steel.
Yet somehow, Doringger managed to withstand it; it was unknown what material his skeleton was made of.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The firing sounds of Magic Energy Weapons could be heard; Shadi, Swan, Gawain, and many others in intelligence service still had Magic Energy Weapons armed, and the cartridges filled with crystals could still fire a few shots.
Bullets rained down on Doringger in a fierce barrage, but the energy missiles that struck his skin proved to be almost ineffective, dissipating upon contact without causing any harm.
Haywood, now recovered and undying as ever, no longer attempted a direct confrontation with this monster that seemed to possess divine power. His body turned into bright red quicksand, and even though his movement was slowed down by the rain, he still surged towards Doringger.
"Relentless."
Doringger raised his left hand, and from him as the center, brilliance burst forth. Blue ether energy formed a protective barrier around his body, causing the earth and stones to explode outwards. It expanded rapidly, at one and a half meters, then five meters, ten meters! It invaded and expanded with incredible speed!
The gathered quicksand was instantly dispersed by the shockwave, and Haywood was forced to reveal his true form as he was repelled backward.
Several intelligence operatives rushed in to support, following Celeste’s orders with unquestioning military discipline. Among them were those skilled in Magic Techniques, two Demon Swordsmen conjuring up a gray Ether Crystal Shield together.
But it only lasted a moment before shattering. The two Demon Swordsmen at the forefront were severely injured, their arms crushed, joints twisted in the wrong direction, as they were flung back by the rapidly expanding light barrier.
As it seemed the others would be shaken by the force as well,
Ox, using only half of a great sword, continued to hold the front. Standing at a towering two meters and eighty centimeters, he summoned all his Qi, his muscles bulging with veins as blood flowed from the strain, leaking even from the corners of his jaws. He desperately withstood the fiercely spreading light barrier, although his body was steadily being pushed backward.
Ernie’s Water-Repelling Sword had been destroyed, Old Wei had fractured a hand, and with movements swift as shadows, he wielded Rivendell with one hand, slashing wildly against the formidable light barrier. Countless horizontal and vertical strikes weaved a net, slicing up the terrifying light completely, leaving nothing but the residuum of energy in the scorching flames.
Doringger’s expression grew more and more solemn.
Shadi, Swan, and the others felt a growing sense of despair. No matter how severely Doringger was injured, it seemed as if nothing affected him. Furthermore, there seemed to be no limit to his stamina, and with his divine power, he appeared to handle everything with ease...
He was seemingly invincible!
Liszt took a deep breath, knowing something had to be done, or Doringger would slaughter them all.
His eyes caught sight of the wreckage of ships that the waves had washed up on the Bay Shore, among which lay a large iron chain several meters long.
Once more...
He would stake his life in battle.
"I, Liszt, live by three principles when I’m out in the world,"
Liszt grasped the hefty iron chain in his hands, his gaze level with Doringger.
"One of them is this: whoever has the money earns the loyalty. And you... Boss of Heaven Port, clearly have money."
Black and red shadows flickered behind Liszt as he accelerated towards Doringger.
Doringger swung his Giant Axe, Liszt meeting the blow directly. The axe bit into his chest, seeming to only graze the skin instead of plunging in, but the force of the wind penetrated deep, injuring his internal organs, making a gash tens of centimeters long through his lung. Liszt, his lung lobe damaged, coughed out fresh blood.
But the chain had already wrapped around, binding both the handle of the War Axe and Doringger’s upper body together. Curse Power surged through the chain, restraining him, corroding flesh and blood, making him unable to move even an inch.
"Another principle is this: without ruthlessness, you can’t stand firm."
With one hand, Liszt attached the chain to Doringger, while the other reached for Doringger’s neck, aiming to penetrate through the wound.
Crack!
Doringger’s other hand, still free, grasped Liszt’s fingers and snapped them, the joints popping and bones breaking, piercing through the skin and spouting blood, even snapping the wrist joint, sounding as if bamboo was being split open.
Liszt didn’t even frown or utter a sound.
"It’s not important whether you are a tough character. What’s key is making the other person believe you are."
Liszt’s other hand, the one not holding the chain, let go, and Doringger, now unbound, used the opportunity to swing his axe at Liszt’s neck, aiming to decapitate him.
Black and red mist surged protectively around Liszt’s neck under his command.
But even then, under Doringger’s Divine Power, the edge of the War Axe cut through the mist with such force that it ruptured Liszt’s carotid artery, causing a gushing fountain of blood.
Crack!
Liszt’s hand had penetrated Doringger’s chest, grabbing onto one of his ribs. As blood spurted from his neck, immense Curse Power was applied to his grip, mustering all his strength to brutally wrench it.
The sound of metal breaking apart.
He snapped it off and continued to reach deeper, intent on seizing the heart.
