Chapter 324: CCCXXIV. Sea God

The sea monster was far from easy to deal with.

Even though Celeste was among the top-tier experts, this monstrous creature, almost dragon-like in size, was an irresistible force.

The amount of blood the sea monster lost was grotesquely exaggerated—the surrounding sea near Fuma Keqing had turned scarlet, all dyed by the monster’s blood.

But the creature had gone into a complete frenzy, deploying every one of its tentacles aside from the twenty or so used for underwater movement. They stretched out densely, blocking out the sun and shrouding Fuma Keqing from all directions, even the sunlight was obscured, casting the deck into darkness.

The tentacles struck down at the deck like a fierce storm.

All the while, Liszt had been searching for Haywood’s whereabouts, who was certainly not on the deck.

One reason for the sea monster’s frenzy was clear.

Haywood had already plunged into the sea; anyone could leave Black Sail and look for refuge under another force, except him.

Below the water’s surface.

The sea monster’s size was terrifying, although not hundreds of meters long like the one legendary Doringger had killed, not counting its tentacles, its main body was still about forty to fifty meters, reaching nearly a hundred meters with its tentacles.

And at the sea monster’s center was a maw as large as a building, like a bottomless abyss. Haywood dived right into it, an undying body withstanding layers of wriggling, saw-like teeth, grinding Haywood into a bloody, sandy powder that quickly solidified in the water.

Yet, Haywood continued to regenerate, undying and unbreakable. Spikes grew all over his body, and his elbows and knees sprouted enamel blades that penetrated the creature’s internal body, tearing through all its internal structures, causing a total upheaval of its organs.

Amidst a silent massacre underwater.

This sea monster had nine hearts to support the vast oxygen needs of its enormous body, with six of those hearts pumping blood to its gills, inscribed with Necromancy spells to sustain vitality.

Haywood destroyed each of the six hearts, one by one.

The tentacles that darkly enveloped the ship suddenly froze, losing their source of power, they helplessly swayed in the air, yet about ten still managed to crash down.

The residual oxygen inside the sea monster allowed it to stay mobile for a while longer.

A silver rose bloomed.

Completely shattered.

Lastly, at the center, Haywood found the Necromancy core controlling its movement, the massive beating heart. These three main hearts provided blood flow for its whole body, also supported by Necromancy and partially embedded with Demon Crystals that assisted in their pulsation.

Haywood used his enamel bone scythes, completely destroying them by stabbing and violently tearing through them, gouging out deep furrows until they were utterly pulverized.

At that moment,

The tentacles encircling the ship, having lost all vitality, the already dead sea monster’s body faced a second destruction. All tentacles withered away; this invertebrate, having no bones, rapidly shriveled and dissolved into clumps of highly disgusting black gelatinous material, which rained down into the sea.

Before long, Haywood also climbed up the ship’s rope netting.

This sea monster, a resurrected corpse, was now utterly dead.

Around the sea surface, blood, black material, and floating corpses made it seem truly like a terrestrial Purgatory.

After about ten or more seconds, the sea monster appeared to be completely destroyed, with no further assaults and the sea waves gradually calming down.

But the people on the deck from the earlier fierce battle could hardly believe this truth, given the sea monster’s terrifying presence.

"Did you kill that thing?"

Liszt’s tension was still not eased, the sheer oppressive force of the giant sea monster having left him somewhat out of sorts as he asked Haywood.

Haywood nodded, "It was controlled by Necromancy, unbelievably, likely the work of that Mo’er."

Hearing Haywood say this, everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Celeste’s gaze was fixed on Haywood, aware of his demonic nature.

Rein intended to pull a cigarette from his red leather coat to smoke, only to find it completely soaked by seawater, and he flung it into the sea, having never seen such a massive ordeal in his life.

Liszt was indecisive. Should they abandon the ship?

There were still three escort ships with them, though not in great condition, but one of them could still barely move.

But the purpose of the moving fortress "Sea God" had already been achieved.

That was to trap everyone here, unable to move for the time being.

The scene was too dreamlike, the ruggedness of the heavy machinery, the streamlined yet extremely elegant shape, the ship pushing out waves creating a beautifully V-shaped white trail.

Only four words could describe it.

Unbeatable...

While they still had some energy left to deal with sea monsters and resurrected corpses, against such a peerless entity, even a sail battleship would be as futile as using a mantis’s limbs to stop a chariot.

Liszt no longer had any chance, he was already a dead man.

Their actions had also been constrained during the battle with the sea monster, with only one escort ship still functional, and even travelling to it by a smaller boat would take considerable time.

And the people on Doringger’s side were not fools.

They were quite surprised that the sea monster’s resurrected corpse had been defeated, having assumed Liszt was just an easily crushed minor character, now realizing it would take more effort.

Even if the sea monster served merely as a disposable pawn at the forefront to restrict their movement, it would eventually be blasted to smithereens by the Sea God. Several lightweight fast ships were also rushing this way.

With the Sea God as the center, the fleet formed consisted of sail battleships.

Kolon and Hanno, upon hearing Doringger’s orders, didn’t take it seriously and brought only two sail battleships for escort, the remaining eight remaining in Heaven Port.

In fact, they believed there was no need to deploy the Sea God; the two of them taking one ship with some skilled hands would sort it out casually.

However, Doringger liked to be thoroughly safe.
