Chapter 280: CCLXXX. Sky Peak Pirate Group

Chapter 280: CCLXXX. Sky Peak Pirate Group

Flado’s expression outside the cabin was somewhat distorted. Although he felt guilty, a swift chop disperses confusion, dead people harbor no guilt.

Of course, Flado didn’t come to kill Taylor alone.

Taylor held such high prestige within his fleet, his words were law. Only by luring him out to inspect the new ship could they strike.

This ship was filled with Flado’s men, including support from Doringger, a Peak Competition Captain who had emerged victorious from the Gu Refining contest, the leader of the Sky Peak Pirate Group, and his key subordinates were here helping Flado eliminate Taylor.

Captain Sky Peak was a jolly fellow, currently trying to quit smoking, a reed in his mouth, burly with short, gray hair neatly trimmed. Seeing Flado’s eyes faintly bursting with blood vessels, he couldn’t help but marvel at his ruthlessness—able to strike even his foster father who had recreated him, truly astonishing.

"Badass, brother."

Captain Sky Peak gave a thumbs up to Flado.

Flado just glanced at him, said nothing. With Taylor dead and the crew disheartened, Doringger would take charge, and all of Taylor’s assets would become his. Even if becoming the most hated by Tani, he had already had enough of it all.

"Mr. Tai, I admire you as a person too. I used to sell my merchandise through you, but now you’ve fallen, killed by your own son. I understand the complex feelings, but give up resisting. For old times’ sake, I’ll give you a dignified death, leave an intact corpse, and I will visit your grave annually—life ends but fidelity remains."

Captain Sky Peak chewed on the reed then casually spit it onto the floor. It was time to break through directly, no need for further effort.

Upon hearing this, Taylor felt no anger. He had regarded Flado as his own, heartfully pondering that he had never mistreated him, yet surprisingly, he was stabbed in the back by his closest kin.

Taylor didn’t respond, only removed his black eye-patch, revealing his terrifying right eye, once grazed by a bullet but still surviving, sparing his life.

Back then, he was young, firm in his belief that he was a chosen one, destined for great accomplishments, followed this path into darkness, reaching his current status.

He drew the sword from his waist, the gleaming blade reflecting the side of his face impaired by the eye, reminding him it had been years since he personally killed anyone.

After resisting for so long, if there was any support, they would have arrived already. It was time to face death.

But just then, an extremely noisy sound came from outside the cabin.

Someone reported to Flado and Captain Sky Peak—Taylor no longer posed any defiant threat, as the Black Sail’s SS Fuma Keqing Revenge had caught up.

"What’s there to panic about? Change course, keep heading out to sea; they won’t catch up. We have enough time to finish Taylor."

Flado urged Captain Sky Peak to act quickly, your subordinates are fierce, why hesitate now?

"Kid, my men have lives too, Taylor has some capable men around him. How about you charge first?"

Captain Sky Peak could enter anytime, breaking the cabin wall was a matter of moments, but the guy inside was not so easy to manage.

He wasn’t particularly fond of Flado—the rumors of Liszt and Taylor’s daughter were well known around the island—no wonder you couldn’t surpass him, both the past events and that night’s feast, this scar-faced fellow indeed had a bit of a hero’s demeanor, Captain Sky Peak felt he was no match.

Flado issued orders to his subordinates, venting his dissatisfaction.

"It’s not like that, there’s someone... a guy wearing a helmet, skin blood-red, came swimming up from the sea, climbed aboard, and has already taken over the helm, killed more than a dozen of my brothers."

This lackey, stunned by the bizarre scene, even reported the news clumsily.

"How is that possible?"

Flado was incredulous as if hearing something mythical. Someone swimming from the sea faster than a ship? And climbed aboard killing over ten people? What kind of monster.

Captain Sky Peak frowned deeply, having to first set aside Taylor to deal with the present crisis.

"You keep good guard here."

Captain Sky Peak exhibited the spirit that once made him famous in the East Sea, commanding that Flado must ensure Taylor died today, otherwise, he would have trouble explaining himself upon his return.

He led eight core members of his crew onto the deck; each of these members once had a bounty of over a hundred Golden Dragons. However, Doringger’s methods reached the heavens, and with just a word, he had the Cross Alliance clear all their criminal records, whitewashing their past so they could freely travel anywhere on the Western Continent.

The SS Fuma Keqing Revenge was already two leagues away, its outline becoming more distinct.

Meanwhile, Haywood, all alone, had penetrated deep into enemy lines and now stood at the helm. The sails were already damaged by him, torn with more than a dozen large holes that let the wind through.

This ship could now only be pushed by the waves, and the SS Fuma Keqing Revenge would soon catch up.

The wind howled fiercely, and Haywood’s tattered coat fluttered with it. He dressed quite discordantly, wearing a leather jacket yet donning a metal helmet that only revealed slits for his eyes.

The metal helmet, worn for many years, was somewhat rusty.

There was fresh blood all around the helm, and a group coming up from below deck surrounded Haywood.

One of the magicians from the Sky Peak Pirate Group, without any nonsense, donned a cowboy hat and wearing spurs, quite trendy, his hands pulsing with ether energy. Dozens of arcane missiles had already burst forth, raining across like droplets.

Haywood didn’t even dodge, his body riddled like a sieve, yet not a single drop of blood seeped out, only red sand flowed.

The magician was startled, having never seen such a phenomenon before.

"You are... Haywood, interesting. I thought you were the least noticeable person in the Black Sail."

Captain Sky Peak did not expect it to be this man taking the lead. How surprising, this helmeted man was definitely the most mysterious person in the Black Sail.

After making it big, there was no need for bloodshed. Peace was more precious.

"It’s not too late, come to my side. You don’t have to mix with that madman Liszt, that kind of butchered existence might not live another day. To ride the East Sea without the need to lick blood off the knife’s edge, who wouldn’t want stable days? Your record is also just a word away; the world is big, and you can go anywhere."

Captain Sky Peak was persuasively coaxing. This was not arranged by Doringger, but by one of his trusted aides. Doringger had too many decisions to make; Liszt was just one of them and couldn’t devote himself entirely to this matter.

But Haywood evidently thought Fafna and the Stele were more intriguing. Additionally, he was one of the earlier ones to join the ship, although he also was unaware of the details. However, Liszt didn’t care much about money. His eyes were not on the East Sea. He longed for a terrifying revenge, which had something to do with the scar on his pain-stricken face.

He was the most worthy of investment. Doringger did not yet possess the ability to gather intelligence from across the continent.

"The corpse is speaking."

Haywood used his old trick, his entire body beginning to dissolve and turned into red sand, irrigating towards the group opposite.

"Be careful!"

The magician was extremely wary of this demonic-like being, not of beings from this plane, from an Otherworldly Space, which had been sealed off from heaven and earth eighteen hundred years ago, how could such strange creatures exist!

The Arcane Array Seal flowed through his hands, and Wind Element Magic was instantly cast. Unrivaled wind force erupted from the magician’s center, blowing all crewmembers on the deck to the ground, unable to stand, ropes and tools were thrown into disarray, and the rigging creaked ominously.

Haywood scattered into the wind, breaking into countless pieces.

"Is it over?"

Captain Sky Peak asked the magician, this helmeted man was too bizarre.

The magician didn’t respond, and although the deck had returned to calm for the moment, he remained apprehensive, unable to make conclusions using common sense.

Through the boundless void, the power of the "Demon God Command" imbued by Da Gun’s formidable strength, Haywood had unfinished grandeur that couldn’t possibly end here.

The scene was too eerily peculiar.
