Black Sail -
Chapter 202: CCII. Industry Upgrade
Chapter 202: CCII. Industry Upgrade
Mid-June.
The SS Fuma Keqing Revenge had already crossed the current divergence zone between the Southern Sea Domain and the East Sea Domain.
Two more days.
And they would arrive at Liszt’s favorite stopover, Kersuna Island.
The ship sailed over the vast ocean of azure waters and blue skies, riding the wind and cutting through the waves, its figurehead of a goddess pushing ever forward.
Heaven Port!
Your Emperor has returned!
The atmosphere on board was nothing but celebration.
Liszt had concocted a sensational event.
Originally, gambling was prohibited on the ship, as it dealt with the brothers’ life-and-death money, earned through bonds forged on the brink of death—many things were better left unsaid.
Liszt consultated with Fen since the numbers were terrifying. Although the main affairs were handled by the core members, it wasn’t possible to send the brothers off with just a few Golden Dragons each, especially those who joined the raids, risking their lives—it would appear foolish.
They had already done a rough count, and it was known that there were about 34,000 Golden Dragons alone, not including jewelry and watches.
This payout would mean each person ended up carrying two to three dozen Golden Dragons, with those involved in the raids not settling for less than sixty to seventy.
They were all bloody wealthy now.
What the hell would they return to the island to fight for? They could all retire with such a payout. It was certain that the spoils would be distributed, but not immediately. They were going to sort out the accounts under the pretext of the New Year’s and plan the distribution method in detail.
But in the meantime, it was essential to orchestrate some festivities to keep the crew’s spirits high.
Then came the decision for the period leading up to return to port—each person would be given a hundred silver coins daily during the voyage, equivalent to about a year’s salary for a sailor in the Beima Duchy navy. They could gamble freely at their leisure, following the Captain’s rhythm!
Due to the currents, the return trip would take longer than the journey there; even at the fastest speed, each person would still end up with seven to eight Golden Dragons.
This was apart from their share of the spoils—these were damn giveaways for the event!
And this was just the warm-up. Liszt had made it clear that once back on the island, he would spend big to treat the brothers to a massive party—a yearly carnival!
A publicly traded company!
Damn year-end bonuses, for fuck’s sake!
What on earth could fucking stand against Black Sail!
Some level-headed individuals on the ship were still saving up. These pirates understood the Captain’s concerns; afraid that with too much money, the group would dissolve. The Captain wasn’t worried about the expense, but about people leaving - he could afford to send crew members to upscale establishments for daily consumption. But once the money was in hand, it became a different story.
As the old saying goes, a pirate never fulfills his duties when his purse is full, and if it’s too full, he’s invincible.
The most authoritative figure on the ship, a one-eyed pirate, along with a bald tattooed brute and their men, had decided they were staying put in Black Sail for life.
A few months of work here equated to several years or even a decade elsewhere, so none of the pirates had any objections. They only knew that returning to Heaven Port would mark the most enjoyable year of their lives.
Apart from the core members, those with positions on the ship were even more astute. Liszt was known for his honor and could replace them with new subordinates on any ship. There was nothing to be said about kicking his own men out.
Only a clever person could see just how visionary and broad-minded Liszt was.
He valued the stability of the internal rules even more—a system of incredible strength with him at its head. This was truly a person meant for great endeavors, not a common pond fish.
And the Black Sail core members had also become desensitized to Golden Dragons. They were too fucking rich, and spending money on mercenaries, they could turn the bowels of today’s Number One inside out.
They didn’t even know how to spend it all.
Liszt knew he was facing an industry upgrade - the current backbone of the crew wasn’t enough; it was time to shape it into a real high-end shareholding system, a publicly listed company.
Black Sail Trading Company.
Shit!
Just the sound of it carried the style of being the Number One in Heaven Port, didn’t it?
Black Sail Empire!
Black Sail Universe!
"You’re right, but Black Sail was created by Liszt as a whole new nation based in the Western Continent, where you’d play the role of a wealthy lord who encounters loli, mature women, housewives, and sexy croupiers, traveling around the world with them in endless glory, while gradually uncovering the truth about the nobility."
Rein’s chest wound hadn’t fully healed yet; bandaged up, he leaned against the ship’s rail smoking.
They’d already had many meetings these past few days.
Liszt was a smart man; Gawain and the others who were kidnapped onto the ship were mixed in not to meddle with shares, but as high-ranking enforcers.
These people were already aware of the Netherworld Stele matter, so the rules set previously also took effect—if anyone wanted to leave, they’d have to be chopped to bits by the others.
Only after witnessing the terrifying aspects of the Stele did they understand just how right Liszt was to set such ironclad rules—a single fragment held such power, let alone the whole thing. Damn, it really could dominate the world.
"Now is! Fantasy time! Caveman, seven orifices!"
Weber had never been to sea before; everything was new and exciting. Partially healed and full of the energy of a Heroic Level adventurer, he was bouncing all over the place. Mr. Archer’s cooking left nothing to be desired, and life couldn’t be more comfortable.
Liszt hadn’t assigned any official positions to Gawain and the other two either, just letting them run loose on the ship with no chance of escape. The train robbery was nothing compared to what was to come.
Boss was taking you to a super society at Heaven Port.
Shadi was about to spit out a mouthful of blood; he truly belonged to the Ancient Holy Body.
"When you were very young, your Supreme Bone was dug out by Rein, but you were born with a Holy Body and formed a new Supreme Bone yourself. Now, get ready for a dual extraction showdown."
Shadi hadn’t realized that Weber was also brain-dead.
Weber’s face was full of question marks, the meaning as clear as the open sea.
As the Boatswain, Claude had brought over twenty elite regular troops with him on board; now, they all felt a bit of sorrow on the deck.
Who would have thought that in just a few months, their state of mind would be completely different?
In an unexpected way, he’d sent off his wife and provided for his child. Claude planned to get married after the year’s end, and of course, Liszt supported it one hundred percent. High-ranking clergy from the Holy Spirit Church, such as Caroso, would be the officiant, and the affair had to be grand, with no expense spared.
Following the traditions of the Western Continent, under the calendrical dominance of the Holy Spirit Church.
Every year after the end of the sixteenth month, there is still a fourteen-day celebration period. In layman’s terms, the first and fourteenth days correspond to the Main God, Tai Chu and the End Saint Spirit, and the other twelve days correspond to the twelve Holy Spirits.
The seventh day corresponds to the God of Love; male and female passion is just a side job, officially known as the Holy Spirit of Beauty and Oath.
It’s also the busiest day for the Holy Spirit Church’s clergy, as many couples get married on this day to receive the blessing of the God of Love.
Liszt and Dreya also got married on the seventh of January. Even though they didn’t have a banquet, they had an officiant and were legally married in the records of the Holy Spirit Church.
Liszt was feeling a little restless in the Captain’s cabin; Fen was writing the navigational log, and he was managing the accounts, but after the upcoming big event was settled, he wouldn’t be able to be so hands-off anymore.
He was wandering around aimlessly, about to go chat with Mo Yutong.
These two women’s condition wasn’t good—the Stele’s side effects were too severe, and even now, they hadn’t fully woken up; they had to sleep eighteen hours a day, profoundly weak.
But there had been some improvement today, and he needed to earnestly ask whether this lady was playing Mission Impossible.
But Liszt hadn’t yet descended from the deck.
Swan came out from the navigation room.
"Mika has called a vote, waiting for all the key members to go over."
Swan, in fact, didn’t care much.
But momentarily,
All the know-it-alls on the deck were in the know—Liszt, Rein, Shadi, Morison, they all had the tactical scowl, their expressions dark as water.
Meredith was in the neodymium copper business, but seeing Goria creating chaos in Heaven Port had shattered his moral compass, presenting an opportunity.
There were two genuine women aboard the ship.
One, a high-ranking train operator, endowed with the restraint of the educated elite, was gorgeous enough to send men to heaven.
And the former dancing lady goes without saying; her spirit and manner, when pushed to the extreme, were burning hot.
All three were very formidable.
The group solemnly entered the navigation room.
The war had begun.
