Chapter 172: CLXXII. Will of Fire
"Hmm? What cult members?
I really like a phrase from ’Acania Travelogue’. Splendid world dazzles the eye, without power don’t compete in appearance. Like a dragon crossing the river meeting a tiger coming down the mountain, society does not bow to your command."
Rein didn’t care much, glanced back to see why Sharon hadn’t followed them inside and instead was hiding outside, looking at her reflection in a barrel of water and playing with her hair.
A true housewife indeed.
"It’s the Miracle of Suffering."
Fen stated calmly.
Rein nearly lost his balance and stumbled, almost falling to the ground.
Groups like Holy Spirit Church were mad because of their wide range of influence; they somewhat had to adapt to secular society.
Take Caroso, for example, although crazy, he has quite solid moral principles.
But these bizarre churches were truly pure madness, screaming, twisting, dark crawling.
If the evil level of the Thief Guild was that of choosing the Demon Clown on the enemy side immediately,
then the evil level of the Miracle of Suffering was like an ally bot lane cutting steel flash wrong jade double sword delivery sixteen kills in a row.
Just ask if you’re scared.
"Anyway, first take her to the basement and let her calm down."
Liszt gave the orders.
Claude and two pirates did as told.
As Rein entered, besides the slave girl, he saw two new faces.
One face seemed familiar.
"Gawain..."
Rein recognized him, having been a defeated subordinate of his former leader, how could he be here? But they weren’t very familiar, having only met once.
Gawain didn’t respond. Rein was quite famous among inland adventurers, known as the walking treasure map, eight thousand Golden Dragons absolutely qualified as a great treasure, but looking at his current situation, he seemed to be struggling.
Mika explained the whole story.
Rein felt as if he were listening to something otherworldly, so terrifying.
"Right, I’ve brought a few newspapers back, first trial operation, departing from Aran Imperial City in three days, heading to Chenxi Port."
Rein placed the newspapers on the table.
Not short of a few copper coins, Rein bought several copies to avoid having to pass them around.
The Black Sail crew was greatly moved; each harbored hidden ambitions, this mission could only succeed, not fail, they immediately began studying the newspapers intensely.
Since the external brain was present, Liszt didn’t need to worry about those things, by then General Fen would command where to strike.
The trial operation, those five rare dogs, might show up.
Unfortunately, the first wave was untouchable, all being Royal relatives, if the Emperor took it seriously, it’d only take minutes to blow up Heaven Port, the second wave might also be quite terrifying, including distant Royal Family relations and dukes, as well as important court figures.
The third wave was the best, purely seeking money, had to do it to compete with Boss of Heaven Port.
"By the way, did you send an adventurer to the church to find a nun?"
Rein asked Liszt.
"Correct, has she arrived?"
Liszt seemed excited, after many years, was he finally going to meet an old friend?
Lu Chen doesn’t count.
Men equal trash.
"She’s just outside the door."
Rein pulled out a cigarette and started smoking, his mind... already had an evil plan.
Lynn!
I want to create a world with you!
What’s wrong with an Illusion Technique World? Reality is too cruel, only enlarges the emptiness inside, sometimes catching you off guard, sometimes making you helpless, just like I once was, just like I couldn’t catch up, right, Kakashi, staying in this world, how can it fill the void.
Although Rein didn’t know who Lynn and Kakashi were.
But...
He wanted to create a world without the He Transmutes Freedom Method.
The sky was clear, cloudless, and the light on the lush grass plains was somewhat dazzling.
When Liszt stepped out the door, high-spiritedly looking over the farm, he indeed saw a familiar figure.
Sharon took a deep breath, Liszt matched the description on the Warrant to a tee, though her face was expressionless, her heart was already beating faster.
Rein was about to shout out that Liszt was a married man, but!
"Time to trim your beard."
"Yes, indeed."
The atmosphere between the two was exceedingly awkward, as if they were merely acquaintances who bumped into each other on the street and greeted each other out of politeness; it was very uncomfortable.
Rein knew that speaking was merely a way to break the awkward atmosphere, forcefully breaking the ice, finding topics for them. In doing so, however, he risked being misunderstood as trying too hard.
Better to observe the changes for now.
By Earth’s timeline, thirteen years had passed; chatting through text had been fierce, and meeting in person now made one uneasy.
Both had changed so much over the years, neither could be sure that the other was still the same person.
"That... The bed upstairs is big and comfortable, want to go up?"
Liszt asked calmly.
Rein was shocked; that could be considered sexual harassment!
"Okay."
Sharon nodded.
Rein’s eyes nearly fell out of his head; this person was a pirate, the lowest of the low, a creature from the gutter!
He began to shout.
"You did nothing wrong! It’s all my disgusting jealousy and pathetic self-esteem’s fault; seeing your text completely broke me down; I was disarmed in that instant, I broke into a cold sweat, chills ran down my spine, and my depression kicked in in an instant, life seemed colorless, completely severing the hope of living!"
Rein had to say it.
Reveal the truth.
Liszt was already married.
"Why are you yelling so loudly?"
Liszt was stunned, incredibly embarrassed; you really know how to pick a time to go crazy.
"What the heck is up with this werewolf?"
Sharon couldn’t comprehend; it was too bizarre, especially after talking to Rein the whole way here, this guy seemed mentally unstable, even more than Liszt back in university.
Liszt thought to himself, this does not look good; Rein’s dark side might cause a rebellion.
"No time to explain! Let’s get out of here!"
Liszt guessed what Rein was about to do, self-destructing and spilling everything about his family; Sharon was still looking forward to the ferris wheel, if she heard this kind of bad news, the consequences would be unimaginable!
For her happiness, he must keep the secret.
"Huh?"
Sharon was grabbed by the wrist by Liszt and dragged inside the house.
Liszt immediately bolted the door, keeping Rein out.
Like a relay race.
Mika’s eyes flashed, a plan forming in his mind.
He had just overheard the conversation between Liszt and Rein and sensed the commotion outside.
Rest assured.
Will of Fire! I will carry it on!
How could Liszt not understand the people aboard the ship?
Just as Mika opened his mouth to speak,
Liszt, in a desperate stroke of genius, yelled towards Meredith: "Mika! This doctor! He’s secretly in love with Goria! He even sexually harassed her!"
Mika was stunned; what a fierce counterattack! Could he really be that powerful?
"Really?"
Meredith looked at Mika incredulously, her expression frosty.
Liszt seized the opportunity to take Sharon upstairs.
"Tsk, he’s just deceiving you, I assure you, he hasn’t even moved a finger. When you go back, you can ask her; if it’s false, please cut off my head."
Mika sighed deeply, Konoha... was it all over?
The two went upstairs.
Arriving in a bedroom, Liszt quickly locked the door and also shut the windows tightly,
Sharon, though fit, was relatively inactive and was breathing lightly.
Liszt couldn’t help but laugh.
"Don’t tell me you have infected them too?"
Sharon relaxed a bit, asking calmly.
"Mmm, it backfired on me, sort of."
Liszt looked out the window to see if Rein had followed them; seeing him give up, he felt a weight lift from his heart and turned to look at Sharon.
Sharon had already taken off her coat, leaving her in a white turtleneck sweater.
Liszt’s throat tightened; the big moment was coming.
