Chapter 129: CXXIX. Stranger in Orange
"I said, let’s just keep it light, I have a husband, but this is not crossing any lines. Could you massage my legs for me?"
"You, person!"
"Well, how about this, you lie down and I’ll tell you an interesting story."
Dreya stroked Goria’s head and let her curl up in her arms.
"I want to hear too!"
Suddenly, Fafna popped out.
Goria awkwardly got up.
The mood then changed, and Dreya grinned slightly, putting down her somewhat bloody and horrifying thriller book in exchange for an adventurer’s tale, nothing more than entertaining a child before sleep.
To Dreya, Goria was just a pretty, appetizing little girl.
Black Sail Inn’s cellar.
It was a completely different scene.
"A speck of dust can fill the sea, a blade of grass can cut through sun, moon, and stars, in a snap, heaven and earth inverted. Meeting the Emperor without bowing, true fate is lost, your name is on the Reincarnation Tablet, each step a bow, half your sins cut on the path to rebirth, protecting your true spirit."
Ben had previously had a tooth knocked out, the rich nerves in his gum exposed, and the blood at the corner of his mouth not yet wiped clean.
Rein, at this moment, held a lemon and chili in his claw, squeezing out their terrifying juices, threatening Ben to speak or he would shove them into his mouth for his family to consume first!
"I’m truly fucked."
Ben hadn’t expected the torture methods of Heaven Port to be any different from the mainland, where physical torment was at most done with saws—ending with a few pieces of flesh cut off and death, but this reveals a truly dark heart.
"When does the lemon become sour? When does the chili become hot?"
Rein wasn’t really looking to extract answers, purely amusement, how shall we proceed with this delightful torture?
W pulls the person over with a lemon, Q uses pliers to smash a few more teeth out, and E uses lemon and chili to scrub repeatedly inside the mouth to ensure even distribution.
R completely locks down, don’t talk about slowing movement, the pain is reducing his damn brain’s processing speed by ninety-nine percent.
"Thresh’s rework isn’t your dark mess, I’m out."
Liszt wrote the letter then came down to observe the work, completely oblivious that he had become an outsider.
"Alright, ask quickly if you have anything."
Ben, driven nearly mad by the werewolf from the highlands, found the caveman’s words utterly cryptic, nothing but pure madness.
"Who is Diaz, male or female, and where does he reside?"
Liszt cared about this question. If he could just handle this darkest scum of the Western Continent once and for all, there wouldn’t be any pursuers forever. Additionally, he might still be hiding other Stone Tablet Fragments, as the saying goes, don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
It’s likely Diaz has already collected more than half, missing only the last few pieces.
"Nobody knows who Diaz is; he only contacts us by letter, and we contact him by mailing letters to various relay points, but I know the headquarters of this spy network is in a small town in a western seaboard nation."
Ben answered like this.
Liszt was silent for a while, a Western seaboard nation? Further west from the Western Continent would be the territory of High Elves, the Ancient Divine Continent, and humans have been observing an ancient pact, not bothering those High Elves, let alone trade, not even communications.
That area is very mysterious, like Area 51 of the Western Continent.
Some say all the High Elves are dead, others say about invasions by outer gods from the Heavenly Sphere.
No one really knows what’s going on.
And no one dares to go there.
Could Diaz possibly be a High Elf?
I must say Diaz’s corporate philosophy is very advanced, far ahead of its time. This decentralized strategy leaves the Cross Alliance utterly unable to make a move.
Liszt took out his memo pad and a scabby feather pen.
"Spit out the exact address."
Without chopping Diaz into pieces, Liszt could never rest easy.
"Nora Island, White Port, Silver Tree Street, number 111. I advise you not to go, the Thief Guild’s top expert called the Netherworld Envoy, they don’t move easily, only when the world’s fate is at stake, and once they move..."
Ben hadn’t finished speaking.
"What crap are you spouting? What Netherworld Envoy, world’s fate, you guys with your cheating loans act like some evil organization that could destroy the world, do you even have that ability? So low... Turns out you play ’Genshin Impact’ too."
Shadi was speechless, overwhelmed by ’Genshin Impact.’
Ben was at a loss for words, this group had no idea of Diaz’s depth. Waiting for Diaz’s reply without their own, they’ll truly be furious, and if the Netherworld Envoy actually moves, then it’s all over.
Liszt noted down the address in his memo pad. That damn place was so far; traversing from the East Sea Domain across the Western Continent would take nearly half a year just one way.
Such an extensive information network, how does Diaz operate so flexibly? Damn, perhaps Diaz isn’t a single person but just a pen name existing on paper.
Just a symbol, a sign, a community of shared understanding.
Remembering what Swan had said earlier, Liszt felt goosebumps; this might be genuinely terrifying, maybe some filthy entity. A Female Mage using a pile driver ought to manage it.
Once I’ve grown big enough and ensured safety, let’s start with industry, bring out something like airships. The area here is horrifyingly vast and the transportation is terribly bad.
"Spill everything else, what treasures have you handled, and who has them now, ideally those in Aran so we could ’borrow’ some gold during our tourist visit."
Liszt planned to squeeze every ounce of value from Ben.
"I’ve handled all sorts of treasures, how could I remember them all?"
Ben was overwhelmed.
"Then list them one by one. If I hear something I like, I might consider setting you free."
Indeed, Liszt intended to do just that. With such good hitters at hand, it would be a waste not to use them, but only as tools. Employ some tricks to keep him in line, spend his life honestly staying at Heaven Port.
"Damn it."
Then Ben started listing them, like reciting a menu, mostly involving Aran’s nobles and the underground world’s major gangs.
Liszt took out his memo pad and noted each one down, handy for ’borrowing’ the items later.
After Ben listed over ten names.
"There’s something called the Junlin Sword, sold to a Duke in Aran as a collectible, named Sefer."
Ben continued.
Liszt’s eyes widened, not expecting such a lucky strike; wasn’t it supposed to be just an upgrade ritual? One Junlin Sword was already powerful, but it was hard to imagine how fierce another would be.
"Sefer? Where does he live?"
Liszt’s tone grew a bit more stern.
Ben, having seen countlessed individuals, was momentarily surprised. This island bumpkin actually knew about the Junlin Sword, clearly aware of its value.
"Just knowing his name as Sefer won’t help, the item might not even be at his house. He’s a high official in the Southeast Province of Aran, those Great Nobles have countless properties."
Ben found it extremely amusing. The nobles were too high for you pirates to touch, right?
"It’s time to add Mr. Sefer to the urgent list, this man, we must kidnap."
Liszt had already made plans.
When entering Aran, coincidentally kidnap this lord and use him along with the other nobles on the train to demand a ransom, pry the location of the Junlin Sword out of Sefer’s mouth, if it’s nearby, just grab it, if it’s far, let Swan break away mid-journey, definitely bring back this Junlin Sword.
Killing an Emperor would be a piece of cake then.
