The O’Brien’s Mansion

"What are you gonna do? You’re not gonna do what Anubis said will you?" Iris said worried.

Riley had already briefed her on what Anubis said, it seemec they were facing a foe far intense than any they have had in the past.

Iris knew Riley was now placed in a difficult situation. Eden’s life was in danger but sacrificing another didn’t feel right, it felt like they were walking into a trap.

Riley was seated on the couch, her leg crossed on top the other, she was in deep thought. There was no other way around this. That old man placed her in a difficult pressure that not even her could fight her way through. This only fueled her anger more and the need to break Hunters neck.

"This is the only way to save Eden’s life" she said facing Iris but her stern expression wavered, almost giving out the emotions that attempted to drown her.

"Lose one child to save another" she voiced concerned "Not exactly the decision I thought you’d make." She added. "There must be something else we can do"

Iris got silence in return as once again Riley travelled too far into her head.

"Riley" Iris began staring at her with worried eyes, a shock of her head in a silent plead. There had to be another way that didn’t involve losing them both. There had to be, Riley shouldn’t subject herself to making such drastic decisions.

Riley rose to her feet walking towards the table resting her palm on it, she took a deep breath closing her eyes.

The pressure hung in the room as well as on Riley’s mind. Torn between doing the needful or risking it all. She was a mother and having to decide which child lives. It wasn’t fair.

It was a gnawing reminder of the past.

Riley slowly opened her eyes , releasing a low sharp shaky breath. "I’m not about to lose another child again" she states sternly, turning to Iris. "I’ll not dance to that geezer tone. I’m not gonna give him what he wants"

Iris exhaled a sharp breath and askef "What do you have in mind?"

Riley turned away, her fingers tapping on the marble wood. "Hopefully not something that will backfire on our faces."

"Whatever it is I’m sure it wouldn’t we just have to be sharp about it."

Ethan at the door listened to everything they said, his back against the wall, his fist clenched in a tight hold. If his mother won’t give Hunter what he wants then how will they save Eden’s life?

What was she thinking?

He walked out straight to his and Eden’s room upstairs in hurried strides, pushing the doors open leading to their majestic bedroom. There were two separate majestic bed, and wardrobes, the room well furnished.

He drops a black bag on the bed, packing some clothes in it. He made sure he did it fast because there was no time. Eden’s life hung in the balance.

"Ethan Honey, what are you doing?" Riley asked walking in, seeing his action she raised an eyebrow.

She thought of something like that and decided to come here straight after she was done with Iris. It seemed her intuition was right after all, her boy was already planing something suicidal.

"I’m going to find Hunter and save Eden, you don’t seem to wanna do it" he said ziping his bag.

"That’s not true Ethan" she said walking up the bed.

"I overheard you and Aunt Iris talking about it, you said you’re not gonna give Hunter what he wants that’s as good as not saving Eden" he said eyes on the verge of tears again as he stared at his mom with hatred.

Riley heart broke seeing the look in his eyes but she needed to make him understand. "What do you expect me to do? Give you up?"

"If it saves Eden yes"

Riley sighs.

"Look Ethan" she began seating on his bed.

"You will go to Hunter, and we are gonna do it together, but I’m not giving you up" she states.

Ethan blinks puzzled. He would go with her? He thought she was handling this on her own.

"What are you gonna do?"

She sighed, placing a hard on his shoulder pulling him close to her.

"I want you to trust me" she began. "If this is going to work you need to have faith in me, you can’t do anything rash. Promise me, Ethan"

"Fine then, as long as it saves Eden and beside do you really think i would just give up myself to that stinky old man, not a chance, I had a plan, to steal cure and threathen the bastard, I mean I can wield my powers now," he said with a shrug.

Riley scoffed completely awestruck by this boy, his plan was insane but the level of bravery he had to pull one off must be studied. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree after all.

"You have always had a mind of an adult and act like one, I always wondered where you got it from, I suppose it’s from your dad" she said with a smile against her lips as memories of him flooded her mind and attempt to bury her alive.

But she quickly swallowed back the emotions that attempted to drown her. She knew if Liam was here he would be proud.

"Yeah Uncle Sean said so, he said I took both your wildness combined making me the exact worse and opposite of you two" he said with a smile, proud by the idea of being like both his parents.

"How were you even gonna get there, you don’t have the card" Riley said puzzled.

He then brought out the red card, rotating it effortlessly between his fingers.

"I took the card without you noticing it and besides we have tons of private jet, I would just take one".

Damn this boy was one of a kind. There was something up his sleeves and none were always not good.

Riley’s smile broadened, she placed her forehead on his closing her eyes with a sigh, he did too.

"I’m gonna save Eden okay, trust me" she said.

He nodded.

Riley couldn’t help it anymore as she pulled him into a tight hug.

"Mom?"

"Shhh" she hushed him hugging him more tightly. "Just let me have this moment"

Ethan’s body stiffened at her words but then a smile found his lips as he wrapped his arms around his mom. "Me too" he admitted ceasing the opportunity to feel his mom’s warmth.

Sean’s Medical Facility

Eden laid still on the bed, you could hear the beeping monitor machine echoing through the air, her slow feeble breath followed too blowing air to the oxygen c9vering her mouth and mouth.

Her eyelashes moved slightly like she was overcomed by whatever weighed hed inner mind, and then her finger moved a bit, her head twitch a bit and then she went still as she was before.

At the strange sound, Eden slowly opened her eyes, finding herself in a place she has never seen before.

In a dark endless void, the ground like glass water, in space, an ash big tree lies there, containing four-leaf clovers, some witters dropping to the ground in ash and as it did, another grew in replacement, emerging out of the branch.

She gasp at the sight, looking around at the strange place, the rest of the view was just pitch black.

This place felt eerily familiar but she had never been here before. She twirled around multiple times to take in the view of the entire place. It was bottomless and an aura clung to the air that caused the hairs at the back of her neck to stand in alert.

"Where am I?" She said puzzled, the last thing she remembered was Ethan being in pain after the bracelet got removed and the strange lady grabbed her and then stung her with the scorpion legs and everything went blank after that.

Excruciating pain followed but then there was none, but she felt death.

In response to that, she felt the back of her neck but there was nothing. Was this all a dream then? No... what happened to her didn’t feel like it but this place did.

"This place isn’t real" she said in realization, this must be her consciousness, she must be lying in a coma right now and then her mind traveled to this place, but how and why.

What pulled her into this strange place or is this how death felt like?

Suddenly a strong familiar feeling overwhelmed her, the warmth she felt to it was so familiar it caused her body to shudder at the intensity.

Her shaky eyes then lands on a figure that wasn’t there before, standing in front of the tree, her eyes slowly went wide recognizing the familiar feeling instantly, he had his back facing her but she knew... she felt it deep in her bones and almost forced tears out of her eyes.

On a black shirt, that showed his muscles and firm body, black pants, bare foot. His dark brown hair, shoulder length, packed in a messy bun behind.

Her eyes went teary the tear flowing down her cheek, her heart ached because after 13 years she finally met him in this strange place but it was worth it.

She couldn’t believe her eyes the same way she couldn’t believe this was happening, she didn’t care if her mind played tricks on her or if this was just what her mind had conjured to enable her body to keep breathing.

None of it mattered.

"Dad?"

He turned and her heart momentarily stopped.
