"His beards are growing again" Ethan said with a sigh not liking the stubble beards he see. They made him too rough.

"Right... Will work on that" Sean said scratching the back of his head realising he needed to pay more attention. Anything could get Ethan upset when it came,e to his dad.

Even though he didn’t know anything about his dad, he had this perfect view of him and allowing it to get smudge was irritating for him.

"When was the last time mom came?" Eden asked knowing she was always the one who shaved it. It had never stayed this long before and sometimes they even met their mom but currently it was mostly them coming alone each time.

Sean sighs not knowing how to say this but he spoke nonetheless, figuring it was no use trying to hide it.

"Not since this month, you should know Ethan, it’s hard for her seeing him like this, there’s no improvement in his body condition for years" Sean said sadly.

It break him each time seeing Riley’s expression each time she came.

"Well it’s hard for both of us too!" He hissed.

"She should at least still come to see him like we do" he said faintly but Sean heard him.

Sean walks towards him slowly as he placed a hand on his shoulder.

"For the past 13 years" Sean began.

"She has come here every night, everyday tending to him" he said in a heavy breath. The memories forcing their way through and how heartbreaking it was.

"I was the one who said she should take a month break, its not easy for her Ethan you have to understand that" Sean reasons.

He couldn’t beat seeing her like that and knowing how much she had to do, he figured Coming here was not a good idea.

Tears filled Ethan eyes instantly.

"I hate seeing dad like this, it’s so unfair" he said with clenched teeth, his teary eyes drifts to a sleeping Eden, clenching onto their dad’s shirt as she slept soundly.

He hated it. Everything... the machines and the constant beeping noises it was like an incoming dread, that one day the sound will stop and that would be the end of everything. Whenever he fell asleep here he would wake up between times just to make sure his dad was still breathing and if the machines still worked.

He would call uncle Sean each time for checkups too.

"Eden misses him.... I do too... we have never heard the sound of his voice or feel touch" Ethan said sadly. It longed to hear it to know everything about their dad just like Sean told him. There were only photo and that wasn’t enough to ease the longing.

There were sometimes Eden would cry in the night and he would hold her all through as they stared at the picture of their dad together.

Sean squats in front of him, Ethan turns to him with tears in his eyes.

"Which is why i built this place" Sean began, his eyes laced with seriousness. All this life work was dedicated to Liam, painfully awaiting the day he would wake up.

He had exhausted all his resources just to make of come through.

"I will do everything in my power to bring him back, I promise" Sean said without a doubt, he had spent 13 years figuring out a way to wake him up, doctors around the world, ghoul doctors too, scientists also, they have been able to keep his body and heart running ever since that day, but the one thing they couldn’t do was wake him up and it pained him to the core.

Ethan nods at his words. Believing every word, knowing if anyone could bring his dad back , it was his uncle Sean.

Sean embraced him tightly as Ethan cried silently.

"It’s gonna be okay" Sean assured him, he will surely find a way to bring his best friend back, no matter what.

Not just for the sake of the world who mourns him but his family.

Sean watches as the twins steps into the SUV. But Eden waited for a moment before turning to him.

"Dad will wake up one day"

A smile found Sean’s lips. "Why do you say so?" He asked.

She shrugs and replies. "Just a feeling... he’s warmer than last time"

"I can’t wait, little flower"

Her smile widened. "Me too..."

She stepped into the car and Earl drove out. He watches the car drive into the busy road.

He sighs as his eyes lands on the dark skies illuminated by stars, his eyes grew wistful with the memories of the past.

Years ago

The O’Brien’s Mansion

"I’m gonna get you Eden" 4 years old Ethan growled like a monster, as Eden screamed while giggling, as her brother came at her. They both wore a cute animal over all, Ethan’s was a lion over all, with hood for a lion face and Eden’s was cat.

"Yes Mr. President, you have nothing to worry about, a deal is a deal" Riley said walking to and fro, the earplugs in one of her ear as she made a call with the President of United States while pacing.

She was just on a white thick sweater and blue pants, her red shoulder length hair was packed in a messy burn.

"Yes of course... the braclets are already distributed around the world, I have already talked with my people and gain understanding, you have nothing to worry about" she states.

"Yes exactly, it was carefully engineered by our team, so you have nothing to worry about. Yes it’s been tested and went through specific-"

Eden loud scream came in.

"Sweetie could you keep it down, mummy is trying to work" Riley said sweetly to the twins but they still continued their tantrums.

"Yes of course I look forward to it" she said back to call. "Just give till the end of the day, I will not disappoint you"

"And where are my mischievous twins" Sean’s voice came in as he steps into the wide room.

"Uncle Sean" Ethan and Eden called in a high pitch voice as they rushed to their uncle embracing them tightly.

"Ugh... both of you weigh a ton now" Sean growled carrying both of them at once as they giggled before bringing them down.

"What is Riley feeding you two?"

Riley ended the call, Turing to them, a breathless relief found her.

"Thank God you’re here Sean... I’m trying to do work but the twin are being mischievous as always" Riley explaining eyeing her two babies who giggling to themselves.

"Is that true?" Sean said staring at both them, they gave him puppy dog eyes he couldn’t resist.

"It was Ethan’s idea to disturb while mummy worked" Eden confessed.

"Not it wasn’t" Ethan pouted.

"Come here you little devil!" Riley growled as she grabs Ethan who screamed and giggled as she tickles him.

"Where do you get this your devilish mind from" Riley said with a sigh, straddling him properly on the side of her waist, arranging his messy curly dark brown hair, beneath the hood.

A warm blush found his cheeks and he hid his face in her neck.

"Well you know who he took it from" Sean said.

Riley’s eyes instantly went sad as she forced a smile. Of course she knew and the sudden reminder was heartbreaking.

When Sean sensed she was going down that lane again, an idea found him.

"Okay... who want to have some fun let mummy work" he offered.

They cheered happily.

"Me!"

"Me!"

Riley smile as she drops Ethan down, as the twins followed Sean out the door in a hurry for fun.

Riley murmured a ’thank you’ to Sean, he murmurs a ’no problem’ to her, before turning back.

"We won’t stay out top long, just the usual,"

"Have fun!" Riley said going back to her calls.

The rest of the day Sean spent some time with the twins at the hospital, they either played cards there or run around the place.

His favorite thing that day was when the twins fell asleep beside their dad, cuddling next to him from both sides.

Present Day

Sean smiled at the memory, he placed his hand in his coat jacket, staring at the skies. All the years flooding through his head especially those with Liam.

The world they knew before this one. They had come a long way and it was hard to imagine that so many thing could change and become... better.

The only missing piece was Liam.

"Don’t worry Liam, just a little bit longer" he said to the skies. "I’m gonna make sure you get to see your kids... and Riley" he promised before walking back into the building.

He had a feeling everything will work out for the better, they had been through enough.
