[BL] Accidentally Becoming the Healer of the Deranged Archduke
Chapter 133: Plan To Make Xion Hate Darius

Chapter 133: Plan To Make Xion Hate Darius

For the royal advisor himself to heed his words, the man before them could not be an ordinary noble.

His pure white robe was a dead giveaway. However, Xion was unaware of the significance of it all. Even if he knew, he might have shrugged it off with something along the lines of, ’What does it have to do with me?’

He was one of the Thirteen High Priests, members of the sacred council that governed the churches across the world.

Just like the priestess of the night, he had a special power. A divine blessing that compelled truth from the lips of the target.

Just like dazed Xion, who had unknowingly fallen right into his trap.

"Did you have the intention of using any type of drug on Baron’s daughter?"

A flicker of hope ignited in Allen’s chest.

This will save them.

After all, Xion would never harm anyone.

Sure enough, Xion denied it, and Baron’s face contorted in anger as murmurs spread through the crowd.

However, before Allen could sigh, another question was asked.

"Then who did you intend to use it on?"

Xion had only ever experimented with Mikosa Ribitiyon on one person. He wanted to cure Rael’s insomnia.

So, even when his wrist was nearly crushed by the heavy grip, Xion subconsciously blurted out the true answer.

"Rael."

Allen released Xion’s wrist. He sank directly into the nearest chair while dragging a hand down his face.

There was a brief silence before the entire hall erupted like a volcano. Many fingers jabbed in Xion’s direction as if they were looking at a disgusting traitor.

"How dare he speak His Grace’s name?"

"You don’t know? The Holy Father’s voice forces out the deepest truths hidden in one’s heart. Perhaps Lord Xion has always harbored... certain fantasies about His Grace."

The words were laced with mockery. Cruel, biting.

They hit Xion’s heart like a hammer. A sharp sting in his temple brought his senses back. Xion blinked, trying to make sense of the situation.

"No! I mean, I’ve used it to make him sleep better."

His words coupled with the story already fermenting in the minds of the nobles only made the situation worse.

The whispers grew harsher, and Xion even heard people blatantly calling him shameless and other such disgusting names.

For a second, he wished that everything he had heard was just a bad dream, a nightmare he would soon wake up from.

However, the reality was often cruel.

Now, even if they realized he had not drugged Lady Rosiele, he was already a degenerate in their eyes.

Xion could not even hide in his lab. If he disappeared, he would only become a fugitive. Not to mention Allen was also being cursed because of his stupid mouth!

For now, he had no choice but to obey the royal advisor’s orders.

And so, as someone accused of plotting against the Archduke, and with Allen branded as his accomplice, they were promptly escorted to the royal prison.

All the while, Nikolai had been attending an unexpected secret meeting with Princess Talia. The meeting finally ended, and he rushed back only to freeze mid-step.

He remained hidden behind the curtains, silently watching from the stairs as Xion was shackled in heavy metal chains.

His fingers twitched at his sides. He was about to step forward, to intervene, to put an end to this ridiculous farce.

He really wished to do so.

But then... he hesitated.

If he let Xion suffer just a little... would it truly matter?

It wasn’t as though he wanted his delicate doll to be scratched.

No, he would never allow that. Just a little scare or a punch on his stomach would do the trick.

Another thought circled his mind. When I help Xion retain his freedom the next morning, would he not be very grateful to me?

Wouldn’t that gratefulness make him look at Nikolai in a different light?

Maybe, then he would be able to keep Xion by his side.

Anyway, Darius wasn’t even here. He was off running around, doing goddess-knew-what. He had even heard from his special guards that the archduke had gone to meet Ethen.

It was absolutely absurd.

Sure, Ethen’s father was one of the thirteen head priests, and with his support, Darius’ way would be so much smoother.

But that same father had just pushed Xion into this situation.

Ultimately, was this not Darius’ fault?

Yes. Of course, it was. Nikolai nodded to himself. A cruel smile curled on his red lips. Ah, he was going to enjoy this so very much.

Tomorrow, he would stand before Xion as his hero, his great savior.

He would be the one to drag him out of misery and gently, oh-so-gently, explain just who was truly to blame.

And Xion?

Oh, Doll would surely hate that cruel devil then. He would make sure Xion did.

The thought was deliciously perfect, and Nikolai couldn’t help but hum a light tune under his breath.

They say that when the devil whispers in your ear, sins start to seem like mere sacrifices for a better future.

Such was the case with Nikolai.

Though, in his case, the devil was none other than his obsession with beauty.

Like so many before him, he forgot the warning he had once received from the Priestess of the Night and fell prey to his desires.

Nikolai did not stop the arrest, and Xion also did not struggle.

It was useless to argue, and doing so might even prove counterproductive. The best way to avoid blame was to leave it to the Archduke.

As long as Darius explained the true purpose of Mikosa Ribitiyon, which was only to make him sleep better, Xion would be free.

But that didn’t change the fact that poor Allen had been affected by him.

Xion was already feeling guilty when he had dragged Allen with him to this night’s reception, and now he had forced the innocent alchemist into jail.

Xion silently peeked at the taller male, but there was no expression on his face. Yet those tense brows and clenched jaw were enough of a proof to reveal the hidden emotions.

The guilt curdled in Xion’s stomach and soon it started tightening around his neck like a noose.

And with it, a familiar, simmering anger ignited in his chest. All of it was directed at Baron and Allen’s father.
