[BL] Accidentally Becoming the Healer of the Deranged Archduke -
Chapter 112: "Why Are You Afraid Of Me, Xion?"
Chapter 112: "Why Are You Afraid Of Me, Xion?"
Author’s note- Okay, So, after staying in the hospital for an IV I am back. My stomach was in so much pain that I could not even stand properly.
Apparently, it was due to not eating on time or something. If you sweet angels are ignoring your food, and not eating, please do so!
That kind of pain is not easy to bear! Not to mention the high bills of the hospital. Its hella expensive!
As for the earlier excessively long Chapter... I promise I’ll try to write at least two extra Chapters to avoid this type of situation again. Happy reading, my sweet little angels~

The room was very quiet, save for the faint crackling of a fireplace in the corner. The soft glow of mana lamps cast long shadows against the walls, illuminating the grand space.
After last night’s brutal commotion, rumors had begun to spread like wildfire.
Some whispered that the attack was a personal grudge against the Archduke’s advisor. Others speculated that it was the work of Darius’ enemies.
But no matter how the stories twisted, they all reached the same chilling conclusion. His Grace had personally tortured the attacker in a most inhumane way.
As for the method of torture, there were many accounts, each more horrifying than the last. Some were so gruesome that even the royal heir hesitated to act upon his own plans.
But that was a matter for later.
At the moment, Darius was in one of the properties under royal heritage. He had little interest in how Nikolai had managed to act so swiftly, nor did he particularly care.
Soon after the explosions, Nikolai’s small team was there, requesting Darius to stay in a "safe place".
Thus, they were inside one of Nikolai’s hidden estates, far from the prying eyes of the capital, and more importantly, beyond the reach of the heir yo the throne.
Safe?
Perhaps it was for others.
For Darius, the concept itself was entirely meaningless. As long as he was present, was there ever a reason to worry?
He could kill more than just one Klein, and that too, without exerting much of his power.
Yet, despite his indifference to threats, there was one thing that occupied his thoughts.
It was already noon, yet Xion had not woken up.
Outside the room, a well-known healer stood stiffly, repeating the same words he had already spoken countless times. Though his legs trembled beneath his long white robe, his tone remained careful and measured.
Who would dare show impatience when addressing the Archduke himself? He certainly could not!
"We have treated his injuries. His body is weak from blood loss, but with proper meals and rest, he will recover. He should avoid exerting himself and not walk for now."
Darius hummed lightly in acknowledgment. With a wave of his hand, he dismissed the healer and stepped inside the room.
The moment he crossed the threshold, he halted mid-step.
Nothing had changed. The room was the same, the cooling air from mana crystals still lingering in the atmosphere was the same.
Still, something was different.
The person who had been sleeping, unmoving for so many hours, was now wide awake.
Xion sat in bed. His back was cushioned against the fluffy pillows, and a thin blanket was draped over his legs. His gaze was distant as he fiddled with his fingers.
The moment he heard the noise, he subconsciously looked up only for his hands to clench.
He felt nervous.
And as Darius’ gaze met Xion’s, he saw it clouding those deep blue eyes.
Fear. How irritating.
The Archduke made his way inside and directly sat on the bed. Not speaking. Not moving. Just watching Xion as if confirming something.
But to Xion, this same silence felt heavier than any spoken words.
He forced himself to remain still. However, he could not bear to directly look at Darius. Just as the archduke took his seat, Xion had dropped his gaze down to his lap.
If it was not for the fact that his back was already pressing against the headboard, he would have moved back even more.
"How are you?"
"F-fine." Even after trying not to, Xion still ended up flinching slightly.
"Is there any pain?"
Xion shook his head, his little throat knot rolled in his neck.
Xion tried to answer in a calm voice as Darius asked about his health. However, his voice was too cautious.
There was no teasing, no defiance, not even the smallest trace of the usual laughing Xion.
Was this not what I wanted to see? Darius mused as he observed how the tiny little thing who dared to cradle him while calling him baby did not even look at him.
Then, why was his heart not excited? Why Xion’s silence was even more annoying than his usual chatter?
For someone like Darius, who had spent his youth killing to survive, last night’s incident was nothing.
Had anger not clouded his mind, he wouldn’t have disposed of Klein so easily. Rather, he would have taken his sweet time punishing that bloodsucking leach.
But he also did not expect Xion to see it all.
If he knew this was going to happen, he might as well have pretended a bit more. Pretended to be a child until they were back in the North.
But... Why is Xion so terrified?
Darius raised his hand. His fingers inched closer to Xion.
Xion flinched. It was a purely instinctive reaction. And with the way those pale green eyes narrowed at him, he wanted to hide even more.
Even after knowing how afraid Xion was, even when the blue-eyed male shut his eyes tightly, Darius did not pull away.
Instead, he ran his fingers through Xion’s tousled black hair, smoothing it down as though handling something delicate.
His touch was surprisingly gentle, conflicting with everything Xion had witnessed last night.
"Why, Xion?" His low voice was steady, and slightly hoarse from the exhaustion.
After all, he had hurried to return from the palace without much rest. Then he fought with Klein and all of those pests in the mansion who dared to plot against Xion.
He was indeed a bit tired.
As for spending the night sitting beside Xion, he did not count that.
"Why are you afraid of me?" Darius asked with what he thought was a gentle voice. He was actually mimicking Xion.
But Xion did not notice it. To him, the calmer Darius was, the scarier he became.
He swallowed. His eyelashes trembled as he kept looking at his hands.
Why? You are asking me why?!
How could he not be?
He had seen it all. The raw brutality, the effortless way Darius had torn Klein apart, limb by limb. He had seen the cold, merciless archduke standing over a corpse, holding a still-beating heart in his hand.
Xion clutched the blanket tighter. He really wanted to speak, to ask Darius ’Who wouldn’t be afraid?’
Yet his tongue seemed to be numb, his lips felt as if they were glued together, and in the end, he could not utter even a word.
Darius sighed. His slightly rough voice dipped even lower. "Have I ever hurt you?"
Xion still didn’t answer.
"Have I ever scolded you?"
Xion blinked. His mind latched onto the question, following the words like a thread unraveling a tangled mess, and he really started thinking about it.
No. He hadn’t.
Rael had never hurt him. Rael had never scolded him. Not even once.
He had called this man squishy bro to his face and lived. He had tested the limits of formality, had spoken freely in ways no one else dared to.
And yet, Darius had never hit him, never even raised his voice.
Still...
Before Xion’s brain could venture into the horrendous sight of last night’s fight, his chin was pinched, and he was forced to raise his head.
Xion could only blink in a daze.
Pale green eyes, so fierce, were locked onto his. They looked so intense that Xion could only look at them in trance.
Tall nose. Full lips. Chiseled jawline...
Wait.
Suddenly Xion realized something. Darius was so... handsome.
Someone like him, who would binge an entire season just because a character hit his aesthetics, now found himself utterly trapped under Darius’ impossibly pretty face.
It was all so unfair!
A certain face-con almost forgot what they were even talking about.
A pale flush crept up his cheeks. It wasn’t just the realization that Darius was attractive, it was how near he was.
Had he always been this close?! He had been so lost in thought that he hadn’t noticed it!
The archduke’s breath brushed against his skin, making his cheeks burn even hotter.
"Answer me, Xion."
A certain confused kitten with wide innocent eyes blinked, "...Huh???"
