Chapter 117: Electric Queen Bee

Chapter 117: Electric Queen Bee

Akron landed beside him, bloodied and panting, but said nothing. He didn’t need to. Cryo and X flanked the battlefield like twin gods of winter and flame, carving through the swarm with relentless precision.

Behind them, the exhausted remnants of Unit Six fell to their knees—not from fear, but reverence.

"They’re in a class above us," one of the warriors in Aksel’s division whispered, awe-struck as he watched the spectacle unfold.

The Prince’s team moved through the outer city of Biohive 81 like a cleansing storm—swift, surgical, and utterly overwhelming. Wherever they passed, the electric bees were wiped out with frightening efficiency. Their movements were seamless, their coordination beyond anything the defense unit had ever seen. It was not just strength—it was precision, style, and purpose.

"I’d say... several classes above," another soldier replied, unable to hide the mix of admiration and despair in his voice.

"Regain your focus!" Aksel barked, snapping his men back to attention. "Help has arrived, yes—but that doesn’t mean we slack off! Secure the perimeter! Don’t let anything slip through! Protect the houses and shelters. We’re the defense unit—act like it. Don’t shame your post."

The soldiers straightened up, but Aksel himself was still caught. His eyes lingered on the ethereal figure floating above them in the sky—a ghostly silhouette framed by the fires of war and the shimmer of a collapsing swarm.

Nioh.

Three years had passed since graduation.

Three years since that fateful exam.

Three years since he had watched his teammate—then quiet, overlooked—walk away from the academy with nothing but a strange glint in his eye and the words:

"I hope you succeed in your future endeavors."

Aksel had scoffed at the time.

Now?

Now that glint had turned into a legend. Now that boy sat in a floating wheelchair, untouched by the chaos, exuding an aura of lethal serenity. His silver-white hair was streaked with crimson, and his presence demanded reverence—not pity. He didn’t move. He didn’t need to. His team fought like an extension of his will.

Aksel gritted his teeth but couldn’t look away. The gap wasn’t just large—it was unfathomable.

Nioh, sensing the sharp intensity of the gaze locked onto him, slowly turned. Even across the field, he recognized the colossal mecha form, the energy signature he once knew well.

His eyes narrowed. A smile curled on his lips.

"So... he did succeed," Nioh murmured.

And then, without another glance, he turned back to the battlefield—where the sky was beginning to ripple unnaturally, a presence far more sinister approaching.

--

The swarm roared.

Thousands of wings beat in manic unison, the sky turning dark as wave after wave of electric bees surged forward in a frenzy. Their queen had not yet arrived, but the hive sensed a threat to its supremacy—and answered with everything it had.

"Cryo—veil them!" X shouted, his sword igniting as he pivoted in place.

Without hesitation, Cryo raised both arms. The moisture in the air condensed instantly, creating a wall of supercooled mist that spread across the battlefield. A blinding veil of cold vapor enveloped the front ranks, distorting the bees’ sensory perception and neutralizing their electrical field by sapping the air of ionization.

X moved next—

The flaming sword cut through the veil, glowing like a red comet. With each swing, the mist combusted, creating explosive flares that ignited upon contact with the bees. Enemies were blinded by cold, then incinerated by fire they couldn’t see coming.

"Left flank!" Akron bellowed.

A cluster of bees dove toward Cryo, their bodies charged and stingers glowing with voltage. Before they could strike, Akron blurred forward, leaping with ground-breaking force. She smashed down with a fist the size of a warhammer, sending a shockwave rippling through the earth that launched Cryo into the air—elevating his out of harm’s way while simultaneously smashing the attackers flat.

While midair, Cryo spun, trailing his fingers downward. Lances of ice formed behind her and rained down on the disoriented cluster Akron had just flattened. The impact froze their bodies in grotesque positions mid-electrocution.

"Back-to-back!" X called.

He and Akron met at the center, fighting like a single organism. X moved with fire, speed, and circular arcs—each swing of his blade melting the frost just as Cryo re-froze the field. Akron provided the anchoring pressure, catching any bee that broke through and hurling them back into Cryo’s traps or X’s flame vortexes.

At one point, three of the larger alpha-bees dove from above, wings glowing bright with stored current.

Cryo opened his palms. "Akron!"

He launched himself upward again—vaulting off X’s flaming blade mid-air, which X tilted just right to give him lift.

Akron’s body shot upward like a rocket. She headbutted the first alpha-bee with a crunch that echoed, grabbed the second, and hurled it downward.

Right into Cryo’s hands.

He froze it solid mid-flight and then—

"Slice." she said.

X zipped beneath it in a flash, cutting through it with a blade so hot the core shattered—molten fragments raining like embers across the battlefield.

The third bee made it close to Nioh—barely.

Just as it neared his floating wheelchair, a delicate silver barrier rippled outward, stopping the bee like a wall of glass. Nioh didn’t even flinch.

"You’re too early," he murmured. "Your queen has not arrived."

Then, without lifting a finger, the corrupted aura around him pulsed once—and the bee withered midair, its energy drained and converted to dust.

Across the field, the swarm was breaking. Thousands of corpses littered the earth in smoldering heaps of scorched chitin and cracked frost. The air reeked of ozone, blood, and burning honey.

X flicked the blood off his sword. "That’s most of them."

Cryo floated down beside him, cheeks flushed but breathing steady. "They’re retreating to form a hive shield. The queen’s near."

Akron cracked her knuckles. "Let her come."

Nioh’s eyes narrowed, glowing faintly red now.

"She’s already here."

His biocore energy expanded releasing a surcharge of lighning that cracked around him.

Thousand, of black needles released from the infiniti umbrella charged with static hovered around him creating a net of thundering energy.
