Chapter 102 - 93 Class Reunion
Chapter 102: Chapter 93 Class Reunion
"So, are you fine now?"
Faye shrugged with a smile, "With my fiancé by my side, I’ve been fine for a long time.
Why should I be upset over a backstabbing jerk?"
Oliver Turner turned to look at Faye with eyes full of affection, but in his heart, he thought, what a fool.
"Hey, hey, hey, let’s not talk about this heavy topic anymore.
Since Zenia is also here, does that mean everyone’s arrived?
Come on, let’s all sit down and start eating.
I’m starving."
After Danielle said this, everyone cheered and grabbed plates to get their food.
Since it was a buffet, everyone’s seats were not fixed.
"Zenia, let’s sit together. Your boyfriend isn’t here anyway, we can chat and make it lively."
Faye’s initiative made Zenia feel a bit uneasy.
But with so many people around, she couldn’t refuse.
"Alright."
Faye was about to get some food, but Oliver patted her shoulder, "You sit here, I’ll get it for you."
"Okay." Faye smiled and sat down.
Seeing how happy she was, everyone was envious.
After eating half full, Faye got up to go to the restroom.
But as soon as she entered, she heard the sound of women gossiping from the stalls.
"Can you believe it? She’s been married twice, but still managed to nab a rich hunk.
Are we single women all doomed?"
"Look at her, she’s so charming, and look at us. There’s no comparison, really."
"Pfft, so what if she’s pretty? Didn’t she still get dumped?
You’ve heard that beauty is a curse, right?
A girl like her deserves to get dumped.
Does she think that just because she’s pretty and has some money, she’s all that?"
"Exactly, if all the good things go to her, then life is truly unfair.
Did you see the tension when she talked to Zenia today?"
"Absolutely, I bet she’s just jealous Zenia, a woman from a poor family, married into wealth."
"Who isn’t? It’s just unfortunate that Director Turner, such a diamond bachelor, got snagged by her."
Faye raised her eyebrows and glanced at the mop bucket by the mop sink.
Without thinking, she used the mop to prop up the doors of the two stalls, filled a bucket with water, and poured half a bucket into one of the stalls.
Screams that sounded like pigs being slaughtered echoed from the bathroom.
"Who is it? Who’s out there?"
Faye tossed the bucket aside, dusted off her hands without a word, and turned to leave.
In her view, they deserved it.
Faye returned as if nothing had happened and continued eating.
When the two female classmates came out of the restroom, their disheveled appearance attracted everyone’s attention.
Everyone approached to ’show care’ to them.
Sitting next to Zenia, Danielle exclaimed, "Whoa, what happened?"
Zenia also tilted her head to look.
One of the classmates, Helen Rivers, shouted, "Just now in the restroom, I don’t know who that jerk was, but they poured water in there.
Ah, my new clothes, I’m so pissed off."
As soon as she spoke, Oliver turned to look at Faye.
Faye lowered her gaze with a smile, then turned to look at him, "What are you looking at?"
Oliver shook his head with a smile, "Nothing, eat your food."
At this moment, Zenia looked at her, "Faye, you just...didn’t you also go to the restroom? Are you okay?"
Faye ignored her.
After a slight commotion, a woman’s voice called out excitedly from the side.
Everyone turned to look and saw Hunter Warren, dressed in a neat navy blue suit, standing outside the hall.
Several classmates shifted their gaze to Zenia.
At the same time, Zenia saw Hunter.
She stood up happily and looked at him, her voice gentle, "Hunter."
Hunter’s attention was successfully drawn.
But the first thing he saw was Faye and Oliver sitting next to Zenia.
He frowned slightly, looking displeased.
The hall fell silent after Zenia’s call.
Everyone watched as Zenia walked obediently over to Hunter’s side.
"Hunter, what brings you here?"
She was elated.
That day, she called him to invite him for dinner that night.
He said he had no time.
His indifference made her not dare to mention attending a class reunion, let alone telling him the address.
Seeing him here now, she was truly surprised.
She had felt overshadowed by Faye, but now she finally didn’t feel as embarrassed.
"I was just telling my classmates how busy you are today.
Did you make time especially for me?"
Hunter looked at the whispering Oliver and Faye with a stony expression.
Oliver asked quietly, "It seems Zenia didn’t tell Hunter about the reunion.
Look at Hunter, he looks so angry."
"I don’t care. Whether he’s angry or not has nothing to do with me, right?"
Over there, Zenia took Hunter’s arm, "Classmates, let me introduce, this is my..."
"Enough." Hunter cut her off, "Can’t you see everyone is eating?"
Zenia bit her lip awkwardly, "Then... let me take you over there to sit."
Hunter pulled his arm away, and Zenia led him to a seat.
Danielle, perceptive as ever, made space for a seat.
Zenia intended for Hunter to sit there, but to her surprise, Hunter sat down in her original seat next to Faye.
The classmates, ever curious, kept glancing back at them.
Zenia didn’t want people gossiping, so she had to sit down.
Hunter turned and looked at Faye, his expression not kind, "Wow, you’ve learned to scheme against me."
Faye simply focused on her plate of meat, "This hotel’s honey-baked meat isn’t very authentic."
Oliver smirked, "It’s not authentic because the money wasn’t spent on it."
Faye chuckled, "True."
Oliver glanced at Hunter; the look on his face was colder than ice.
Zenia felt very awkward.
Since her boyfriend arrived, his attention had been on Faye.
People must be secretly mocking her, right?
"Hunter, what would you like to eat? I’ll help you get some."
"Honey-baked meat."
Zenia’s face turned even more sour.
Out of the eight people at the table, aside from Oliver, Faye, and Hunter who didn’t pay attention to her, the remaining four were all looking at her.
Danielle, possibly feeling pity for her, stood up, "Zenia, I’m done eating too and need to get some. Let’s go together."
Oliver gave a wicked smile to Hunter, "Second Master Warren, it’s quite the fate we ran into each other today.
We’ve never had a drink together before, have we?
Care for a drink?"
Hunter shifted his gaze to Oliver, "I don’t see any problem with that."
Danielle, always perceptive, fetched some beers for the two.
Faye crossed her arms, "Danielle, these two don’t drink this kind of beer. Have the waiter bring the best red wine."
"Oh, oh, I’ll go do that now." Danielle went out to tell the waiter.
The hotel manager, hearing those two were here, personally brought the best red wine to serve them.
The service standard was unmatched.
Oliver and Hunter downed their first glass filled with some temper.
When the second glass came, Zenia held Hunter’s hand worriedly, "Hunter, drink less; alcohol isn’t good for you."
"Since when do you meddle in my matters?"
Faye raised her eyebrows and directly took the glass from Oliver’s hand, "Don’t you have something later? I’ll drink this for you."
She turned to Hunter, "Second Master, I’ll drink this with you, no objections, right?"
"Of course not." Hunter clinked glasses with her, and they both downed it in one go.
Oliver frowned, "Can you handle it?"
"Don’t worry, maybe my drinking tolerance is better than Second Master’s." Faye smiled playfully.
Oliver released his hand, letting her be. She was always a decisive person, not easy to hold back.
"Oh, is that so? Then I’d love to see how well you can handle it." Hunter’s eyebrows lifted, "Pour the wine."
The hotel manager quickly filled their glasses.
The two locked eyes, challenging each other as they drank one glass after another.
Those around them focused their attention on the pair.
Zenia, sitting nearby, found herself unable to intervene. She knew that at a time like this, even if she spoke up, she would just be looked down on.
Initially, Oliver watched the scene as a spectator.
But later, he realized Faye seemed serious.
With such drinking, she might get drunk.
When Faye raised her glass again, he reached out to hold her wrist.
"That’s enough, let’s stop here tonight."
"Since when is it your place to decide?" Hunter’s eyes darkened, casting a sinister gaze on Oliver.
Oliver remained calm, naturally resting his hand on Faye’s shoulder, "Second Master, here’s the thing.
While I indeed can’t decide your matters,
as for my fiancée, I do have a say.
Faye, as of now, you’re not allowed to drink anymore.
Drinking too much will make you uncomfortable, and I’ll worry."
Faye released her grip on the glass, "Okay."
Due to Faye’s response, the air around them became tense.
Hunter’s expression suggested he was seconds away from making a scene.
Zenia turned to Danielle, her expression seeming to convey a signal.
Danielle stood up and clapped her hands, "It’s rare for us classmates to gather together.
Watching Faye and Second Master drink is boring.
How about we play a game instead?"
People began to clamor, "Let’s play something exciting."
"Alright, then let’s play... the Love Hug game."
Everyone cheered loudly after Danielle said this, "Let’s do it!"
Seeing everyone’s enthusiasm, Oliver turned his head to softly ask Faye, "What kind of game is this? I’ve never heard of it."
