Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love
Chapter 88 - 083: My Mom Has Arrived

Chapter 88: Chapter 083: My Mom Has Arrived

Yi Luowa awkwardly followed him into the elevator. The moment the elevator doors closed, she lowered her head and bit down hard on the back of his hand.

"Are you part dog?" Tong Airui burst out laughing.

"Caught it from you! Let go!" Yi Luowa pretended to bite him again.

Tong Airui wrapped her in his arms with a laugh. "Stop messing around. No injuries these next few days, or I don’t want my mom to see them."

"You’re always pulling and tugging at me—how am I supposed to find a boyfriend after this?" Yi Luowa tilted her head up, glaring at him all puffed up.

"I give you an inch, and you take a mile!" Tong Airui gave her an icy look. "You’re my woman. If you dare cheat on me, just see how I deal with you! And anyone daring to think about you—I’ll send him straight to Mars!"

"You’re just bullying me!" Yi Luowa pouted. "I’m not designing a car for you anymore!"

"That’s fine. I was worried it’d tire you out anyway." Seeing that she was getting upset, Tong Airui raised his hand and patted her shoulder. "How about coming with me instead?"

"Not going!" Yi Luowa huffed.

"Then behave yourself at the hospital. I’ll try to come back early to keep you company." Tong Airui looked down at her.

"Would be better if you didn’t come back!" Yi Luowa turned her face away, refusing to look at him.

"You’re impossible to deal with!" Tong Airui lightly kissed the top of her head. "Don’t be mad. I’ll watch my words better in the future."

"Easier to move mountains and rivers than change someone’s nature!"

Tong Airui raised an eyebrow. "If you won’t change and I won’t change, how are we supposed to get through the days ahead?"

"Do we even have a future? I always feel like once my contract’s up, we’ll just part ways." Yi Luowa felt a pang of uncertainty. This time, she wasn’t saying it just to provoke him; she meant it.

"Silly girl... No, no, you’re not silly—it’s my fault. I didn’t give you enough security. When I get back, we’ll have a proper talk."

As the elevator doors opened, Tong Airui took her hand and stepped out. Yuan Hang also came out of another elevator. "The car’s ready. Leaving now?"

Tong Airui said with a low voice, "Bring the car over here. I’ll take Luowa upstairs first."

Yuan Hang gave his young master a deep look. At this hour, he was still wasting time here!

"I’ll walk you out." Yi Luowa, noticing that Yuan Hang seemed a bit impatient, quickly grabbed Tong Airui’s hand and headed out. "When you come back, don’t forget to bring the blueprints. I need to study them."

"Designing another car for me?" Tong Airui looked at her with amusement.

"I just want to see what kind of car you’re capable of designing." Yi Luowa pouted. "Better not be a tank!"

"You’ll see when I’m back." Seeing that the car had already pulled up, Tong Airui let go of her hand. "Go back, and don’t wander around alone."

"Bye-bye~" Yi Luowa waved before turning and heading back into the lobby.

Tong Airui chuckled helplessly. "She really knows how to make a clean break!"

As Tong Airui’s car pulled out of the hospital gates, a plain black Land Rover drove into the compound.

Yi Luowa stood by the elevator doors, watching the numbers descend, muttering to herself, "20, 19, 18..."

"Ma’am, this elevator’s about to come down. Should we take this one?" A female voice sounded behind her. Yi Luowa turned around to see who it was. The speaker looked about Yuan Hang’s age—fair-skinned and fresh-faced, with a clear air of someone well-trained. But it wasn’t this girl who drew Yi Luowa’s attention; it was the middle-aged woman she had just addressed as "Ma’am."

This "Ma’am," though nearing fifty, was still strikingly beautiful. These days, beauty was everywhere, but what set her apart wasn’t just her appearance—it was her elegant demeanor.

True elegance wasn’t just about external beauty but the inner grace revealed in how one responded to life’s situations with wisdom. That wisdom could be felt in her every subtle move, smile, and gesture—a kind of charisma that made her naturally warm and approachable.

Seeing the woman looking at her, Yi Luowa returned a polite smile.

The woman made no effort to hide the admiration in her eyes. "What a pretty young lady!"

"Ma’am, you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen." Yi Luowa beamed.

"What a sweet talker!" The woman smiled and, as the elevator arrived, naturally took Yi Luowa’s hand. "Come on, dear."

Being addressed as "dear," Yi Luowa instantly felt a warmth in her heart. "Ma’am, which floor are you headed to?"

"The ninth floor."

"What a coincidence—I’m going to the ninth floor too." After the younger girl got into the elevator, Yi Luowa pressed the button for the ninth floor.

The woman gave Yi Luowa a lingering look, smiling. "Quite the coincidence, indeed."

"Beep, beep..." Yi Luowa’s phone started ringing.

She took a look at the screen and answered the call with a cheerful tone, "Why are you calling me so soon after leaving? Are you checking up on me?"

"Luowa, I just got word—my mom’s already at the hospital."

"Huh?" Yi Luowa suddenly tensed.

"Don’t worry; she’s really nice..."

"Are you coming back?" Yi Luowa gripped her phone tightly.

"I’ve already got everything scheduled on my side, so I can’t come back for now. Just act like you normally would. Oh, and don’t mention my injury to my mom."
