Chapter 139: Chapter 134 Aunt, I’m Not Small Anywhere (Second Update)
"This time, it’s not childish, it’s showing off!" Yi Luowa grinned and nudged his arm. "What if they say bad things about me? What will you do then?"
"They wouldn’t dare! Besides, what’s wrong with my wife? Can they really find any flaws?" Tong Airui’s lips curved into a smile as he pulled her into his hospital room.
"Change your clothes." Yi Luowa began unbuttoning his shirt. "Are you still going to the camp these days?"
"No, I need to take care of myself properly. When the parade comes, I can’t let them notice any injuries on me."
Yi Luowa’s eyes dimmed slightly. If she had known they would develop to this point, she wouldn’t have laid a hand on him no matter what she said!
"Will you recover in the hospital or at home?"
Tong Airui raised his hand and pinched her nose. "Here, I’ll just occasionally go home to see my parents."
Yi Luowa pursed her lips and smiled. "Your parents’ relationship is so good!"
Tong Airui froze for a moment, then burst out laughing. "We got used to it long ago. In the future, no matter what you see, just pretend you didn’t see it. Otherwise, my mom will take it out on my dad."
Yi Luowa hung up the clothes he had just taken off. "Uncle is so intimidating. Auntie dares to take it out on him?"
"My dad listens to my mom. She can handle him however she wants."
Yi Luowa blinked her wide eyes, looking adorable, and asked, "What about you? Will you listen to me in the future?"
"If what you say makes sense, I’ll listen..." Tong Airui saw her pout, smiled, and added, "Even if it doesn’t make sense, I’ll listen too. When it comes to spoiling my wife, I need to surpass my dad."
"Tong Airui, you’re so good~" Yi Luowa laughed as she ran over. She was about to hug him tightly, but remembering his injuries, she pouted and guiltily rubbed her arm against his.
"What’s wrong?" Tong Airui smiled and ruffled her hair.
"You’re hurt, and I feel bad!" Yi Luowa puckered her lips, raising her eyes to look at his faintly bruised chin—a shallow cleft chin, her favorite!
Yi Luowa raised her hand to touch it. "You didn’t shave again!"
"Don’t you think I look more manly like this?"
"Haha, definitely manly!"
Tong Airui lifted her hand and gently kissed it. "Did your friend call you?"
"She called when you were talking to your soldiers. She said she’d arrive at six tonight."
"Let them stay in the presidential suite on the tenth floor of the Imperial Hotel. What do you think?"
"No need to be so extravagant."
"They’re your friends. I can’t let them feel unwelcome... By the way, is the guy who came along also your friend?" He had been wanting to ask this for a while, but only now did he manage to get it out.
"He’s from the same school, a year ahead of us." Yi Luowa pouted. "I don’t even know how those two got together. At school, we were just acquaintances who nodded to each other... Tong Airui, do you think they might be dating? Then Huo Li’s mom didn’t approve, and they argued. And then they eloped to Z Country together."
Tong Airui chuckled. "You’ve got quite the imagination. If you ever want to write a book, I bet you’d be a great author."
"Are you mocking me?" Yi Luowa slightly narrowed her eyes, pretending to look hurt.
"That’s not what I meant... Beep beep..." Tong Airui’s phone rang.
Tong Airui glanced at the screen, then handed the phone to Yi Luowa. "Tell her I’m not free to answer."
"Who is it?" Yi Luowa hesitated, feeling awkward about answering a stranger’s call.
"Aunt Ni Lu." Tong Airui said as he pressed the answer button.
Yi Luowa shot him a disapproving look and said into the phone, "Hello!"
"Did I dial the wrong number?" Ni Lu’s doubtful voice came from the other end of the call.
"You didn’t dial wrong. This is Tong Airui’s phone, but, but he’s in the bathroom, so he can’t take your call right now."
"You must be Rui’er’s little wife, right?" Ni Lu giggled.
Yi Luowa grinned and replied, "Aunt, I’m not little at all."
"Haha..." Ni Lu laughed for a while, then suddenly changed her tone. "Child, Shiqing was out of line, and I’m here to apologize on her behalf. When she came back, she knelt before her dad and me. She said she’d never do something like that again."
Yi Luowa pouted. "Aunt, I wasn’t really angry with her."
"She hurt you. Of course you’d be upset. Nuo’er told me you cried so much your eyes were swollen. I even gave her a good scolding for you. Don’t be mad, alright?"
Yi Luowa touched her eyes. Were they swollen? That Tong Aino—before he left, he said he’d make Aunt Ni Lu discipline Shiqing. He really went through with it!
"Aunt, I’m not angry anymore. Please don’t scold Shiqing anymore."
Ni Lu sighed. "If I don’t scold her, she’ll never learn from her mistakes! I haven’t talked to you much, but somehow, I feel you’re just like your mother-in-law—very magnanimous. Rui’er made a good choice finding such a wonderful wife."
Yi Luowa glanced at Tong Airui, smiling tightly. She wanted to say, "Aunt, you’ve got it wrong. I’m really not all that magnanimous."
Tong Airui noticed her peculiar smile and vigorously ruffled her hair top, mouthing silently, "Say just a couple of sentences."
