Chapter 134: Chapter 129 I Suspect Ai Ni Has Been Eavesdropping the Whole Time
Tong Airui shook his head with a smile, "As long as I hold you while I sleep, nothing hurts!"
"Don’t be so glib." Yi Luowa chuckled and scratched his palm lightly. "Did Yuan Hang give you some medication spray?" She couldn’t fall asleep until she confirmed.
"He did." Tong Airui lowered his gaze with a soft smile. Taking that hit wasn’t in vain—this little girl was finally showing some care for him. "Not sleepy? How about we do something else then..."
"I am sleepy!" Yi Luowa hastily closed her eyes in fear.
Tong Airui closed his eyes with a amused smile too. For once, he was behaving tonight—mainly because his younger sister was sleeping in the next room. He was worried that if he teased Yi Luowa too much, Ai Ni might overhear, and that wouldn’t be good.
He might be behaving, but Yi Luowa couldn’t take it anymore. Imagine—her legs being pinned, her hands completely bound—who could sleep peacefully like that? So the little girl started wriggling around in Tong Airui’s arms, trying to free herself from his grip.
"Do you know why I left so early this morning?" A slightly restrained voice came from above her.
"Didn’t you say I don’t sleep well?" Yi Luowa replied in a small voice, frowning. "Stop pressing down on me like that. I promise I’ll sleep properly."
"You don’t just sleep improperly! You also..." In the darkness, Tong Airui’s eyes burned with a trace of fire, as he softly accused her of what she’d done that morning by her ear.
Yi Luowa’s cheeks flushed scarlet, and she pouted lightly. "I absolutely didn’t do what you’re claiming!"
"I’ll record it next time when you’re asleep." Tong Airui lightly nibbled on her ear. "Turn around—I’ll hold you from behind, so you can sleep more comfortably."
"Your injuries..." Yi Luowa groaned with exasperation and felt like slamming her head against the wall. If she’d known tonight would turn out like this, she wouldn’t have kicked Tong Airui no matter what!
Tong Airui curled his lips into a smile. "It’s this side that’s injured—as long as I don’t press on it, it’s fine."
"Tong Airui, I’m sorry." Yi Luowa bit her soft lips, staring at him intently.
Tong Airui gently bumped his forehead against hers with a smile. "Just saying sorry to me over a little thing like this—you’re making it sound way too serious!"
Yi Luowa shook her head in guilt. "It’s not minor at all."
"No more mentioning this, okay? Be good and sleep. I suspect Ai Ni’s been eavesdropping the whole time."
Yi Luowa gave him a smile and turned over, showing him her back. Tong Airui’s large hands quickly slid back into place, but credit where it’s due—changing sleeping positions did make Yi Luowa much more comfortable. After a brief moment of frustration, she fell into a deep sleep.
Tong Airui chuckled softly to himself. "Truly carefree—just now she was fretting like crazy, and now she’s already fast asleep!"
He laughed lightly again, pressing his chest firmly against her back. This was the closest proximity two hearts could have. Quietly, he listened to the rhythm of her heartbeat.
Early in the morning, when Teng Aini woke up and came outside, the two of them were still in the same sleeping position as last night.
Hearing footsteps, Tong Airui turned his head towards his sister and whispered, "What time is it? Why are you up so early?"
"You Jia and I are heading to Raman early—you two can sleep a bit longer."
Although Teng Aini’s voice was soft, it was enough to wake Yi Luowa. She opened her eyes sleepily, glanced around in confusion, and finally found Teng Aini. "Are you leaving without eating breakfast?"
"There’s breakfast on the plane." Teng Aini apologized with a smile when she saw Yi Luowa rubbing her eyes non-stop. "You guys go ahead and keep sleeping. I’m leaving now."
"Ai Ni, don’t forget what I said." Tong Airui sat up.
Teng Aini smiled and nodded. "Mm, if it doesn’t work out, I’ll bring my fourth sister-in-law into the mix. If he wants to see his granddaughter-in-law, he’ll have to agree to me and You Jia’s marriage."
"Doesn’t matter what method—so long as you win!" Yi Luowa grinned and made a victory gesture towards Teng Aini.
"Alright, wait for my good news!" Teng Aini smiled and stepped out of the room.
Tong Airui watched his sister’s departing figure with concern. After some thought, he lifted the blanket and got out of bed. "Let me go remind Ai Ni of a few things again. We can’t just enjoy our happiness while leaving her alone. My mom was her age when she married my dad."
"Then go quickly!" Yi Luowa got out of bed as well. "Bring the medication back later—I’ll help you reapply it."
"Got it. You should sleep a little more—I’ll be right back." Tong Airui glanced at her.
"No more sleeping, oversleeping wouldn’t be ideal." Yi Luowa pushed him out the door. "Hurry up and talk to Sister Ai Ni—don’t delay."
"Start calling her little sister from now on!" Tong Airui headed towards the neighboring room with a chuckle. Seeing how concerned Yi Luowa was about Ai Ni, he figured he wouldn’t have to worry about any future in-law or sibling-in-law issues with this wife of his.
Yi Luowa, meanwhile, quickly tidied herself up and darted out the door. She ran into Teng Aini and You Jia just as they were coming out of the other room.
Yi Luowa raised her fist with a cheerful smile. "Good luck!"
"Good luck!" Teng Aini hugged her with a giggle. "Wait for my good news."
"Mm-hmm."
You Jia apologized with a smile. "Fourth Sister-in-law, I’m really sorry about yesterday. Once I’m back, I’ll make sure to teach Shiqing a lesson."
Yi Luowa smiled. "My biggest trait is having a poor memory—I already forgot about yesterday. Don’t let it affect your bond with your siblings because of me."
