Chapter 128: Chapter 123: Medical Prodigy (One More Update)
"Dad..."
"A healer can’t heal themselves! You probably haven’t noticed it, but you’ve been anything but calm since you got here!" Jimo Yixuan interrupted his youngest daughter impatiently.
Mo Shanshan frowned slightly. "You’re even less calm than I am. He’s a surgeon—how can he be Grandpa’s attending physician?"
"Ze Kai has studied both surgical and internal medicine!"
"Little Five, listen to Dad!" Jimo Yixuan’s eldest son reached out and pulled his sister away.
"Does Grandma know yet?" Mo Shanshan, still a bit dissatisfied with Mai Ze Kai, glanced around but decided to stay quiet since everyone told her to.
"She doesn’t know yet. Mom took Grandma to Uncle Grandpa’s place."
"Whatever you do, don’t let Grandma know right now! Even if it has to wait until Grandpa knows, that’s fine."
"I’ll take care of it."
"Big Brother, what’s up with this Mai Ze Kai? Why does Dad trust him so much?" Mo Shanshan whispered.
"You’ve just come back from abroad, so you don’t know. He’s a genius in the medical field. Listen to Dad."
Mo Shanshan puffed up her cheeks and stole a glance at Mai Ze Kai. Genius! With that look, he really is... odd!
Jimo Yixuan walked over to Tong Airui. "Since Ze Kai said there’s nothing serious, then it’s fine. You don’t need to stay here with us. Your dad called earlier and said he wanted to come over. I stopped him."
"I’ll wait until Jimo Chen comes out and check on him before I leave."
Tong Airui waited until Jimo Chen came out and stayed to escort him upstairs to the ninth floor along with everyone, before returning to Yi Weiyang’s hospital room.
"How is Mr. Jimo doing?" Yi Weiyang, after all, grew up in the capital city and knew of the famous Jimo Chen, the wealthiest man in the city.
"A minor cerebral hemorrhage. They’ve started treatment, and from what Old Seven said, it doesn’t seem like anything too serious."
Yi Weiyang let out a long sigh. "Once you get older, even minor illnesses start piling up out of nowhere."
Yi Luowa quickly covered his mouth. "Don’t scare me by saying things like that!"
Yi Weiyang chuckled and pulled her hand down. "Don’t worry! I’m not dying until I see you married!"
"Then I’ll never get married in my lifetime!" Yi Luowa puffed up her cheeks and pouted at her uncle.
Yi Weiyang laughed. "If you don’t get married, what’s Airui supposed to do?"
"Who cares about him!" Before she could finish speaking, a large hand suddenly appeared on her head. Tong Airui tousled her hair roughly and said in a deep voice, "We should be heading back now. Let your uncle rest properly."
Even though Yi Luowa didn’t really want to leave, she had no choice but to follow Tong Airui out the door for the sake of her uncle’s health.
"I’ll go take a shower first and come back to find you." Tong Airui stopped at the door of her room.
"After your shower, I’ll apply some medicine for you." Yi Luowa looked at him worriedly. "Does it still hurt?"
Tong Airui smiled and shook his head. "It doesn’t hurt anymore. After I shower, I’ll have Yuan Hang apply the medicine for me. You’ve had a long day too—get some rest early."
Yi Luowa responded and stepped into the room. She had just picked out her pajamas when her phone rang. Glancing at the caller ID, she pursed her lips into a smile. "Huo Li!"
"Luowa!"
"What are you up to?"
"Silly pig, I’m calling you, duh!"
Yi Luowa laughed aloud. "Dumb pig, what made you think of calling me?"
"I had a fight with my mom. I’m going to stay at your house for a few days."
Yi Luowa giggled uncontrollably. "Honestly, you’re something else. Always fighting with your mom. Sure, stay at my place. There are attendants at home—just ask them if you need anything."
"What do you mean? I’m going there and you’re not keeping me company?"
"I’m in Z Country. It’ll take me a few days to get back, or..."
"OMG! You went to Z Country? Why didn’t I know that?" Huo Li interrupted her indignantly.
"It was a last-minute decision. Want to come join me?" Yi Luowa sat cross-legged on the bed, tilting her head as she chatted with Huo Li.
"That’s an option! But I’d need to first steal my passport."
"Then hurry up and steal it! Haha, I’ll cover all your expenses here. You just need your passport."
"Can I bring someone with me?"
Yi Luowa pursed her lips unhappily. "What? We’ve only been apart a few days and you already found someone else?"
"Oh, it’s not my new flame—it’s your bad romantic luck! Hahaha..." Huo Li’s laugh echoed through the phone.
Yi Luowa frowned slightly. Bad romantic luck? What bad romantic luck?
"Luowa, it’s me." A magnetic male voice came through the phone.
Yi Luowa rubbed her temples. "Jast, senior?"
Jast chuckled. "Yes, it’s me. Will you welcome me?"
Yi Luowa blinked. Could she say no? This wasn’t her territory, and if he wanted to come, what could she say?
"On behalf of the people of Z Country, I welcome you. Hehe..."
"If you hadn’t said it, I’d have forgotten Z Country is your homeland."
Yi Luowa gave an awkward smile. She didn’t even know who her parents were—how could she know where her homeland was?
"Luowa, it’s settled then. We’re flying over tomorrow." Huo Li snatched the phone back, shouting excitedly.
"Alright, I’ll book a hotel for you soon. Um, I’m a little short on cash lately, so could you two share a room?" Yi Luowa said, covering her mouth to stifle her laughter.
"Screw you! Go to hell!" Huo Li swore discontentedly.
"I’m already dead!" Laughing, Yi Luowa flopped onto the bed. Seems like her head landed on something. She craned her neck back to see Tong Airui smiling at her. Pouting, she glared at him, mouthing the words, "You scared me sneaking around without a sound!"
Tong Airui took the phone from her and said with a grin, "Are you Luowa’s friend? Welcome to Z Country."
