Chapter 126: Chapter 121: I’m No Saint! (Second Update)
Tong Aino pressed the horn forcefully, signaling Yuan Hang to stop. Yuan Hang got the hint and pulled the car to a halt on the side of the road.
Tong Aino jumped out of the car and quickly moved to the front. "You Jia called just now. She said Shiqing is missing. Mom wants us to gather some people and go look for her."
Tong Airui frowned slightly. "A grown person just goes missing? Could this be some kind of stunt?"
"Dad said the same thing and said he wouldn’t bother, but Mom insists— if something really happens to Shiqing, we won’t be able to face Aunt Ni Lu." Tong Aino’s face showed visible reluctance, but since it was an order from their mom, he had no choice but to comply.
"Then you all go look. Pretend I don’t know anything about this." Tong Airui’s expression darkened. Shiqing had already crossed his line, and he wasn’t planning to give face to anyone anymore.
"I know you won’t help look for her, I didn’t plan to ask you either. What I mean is, if she comes to the hospital looking for you, just keep her there for now and then notify You Jia so she can take her away."
Tong Airui raised an eyebrow. "How could she possibly come to find me?"
Tong Aino shot him a glare. "Anyway, I’ve passed on Mom’s message. You figure it out yourself!"
Yi Luowa walked over and smiled at Tong Aino outside the car. "You all go look. As soon as I hear any news, I’ll call you right away."
Tong Aino nodded, hopped back into the sports car, and the group of them set off with their search party once again.
Tong Airui shot Yi Luowa a sinister look. "Since when did you become such a saint?"
Yi Luowa curled her lips. "Wrong. I’m no saint! But this is Auntie’s wish. Are you really going to disrespect your mom’s face too?"
"My mom is just ridiculous sometimes! And You Jia is completely useless. How could she let someone go missing like that!" Tong Airui plopped onto the sofa angrily.
"You’re not useless, right?" Yi Luowa smirked at him. "But if I wanted to hide from you, you still wouldn’t be able to find me."
"If you dare to hide from me, watch how I deal with you!" Tong Airui snorted coldly.
"Ugh, knock it off! Get back to the hospital already. Who knows if Shiqing might already be waiting for you there!" Maize Kai glanced lazily at Tong Airui. This guy was becoming more and more like his dad—such a busybody!
They soon arrived at the hospital, but Shiqing wasn’t waiting for them. Instead, it was someone from the Jimo family!
Just as the three stepped out of the car, an ambulance drove into the hospital courtyard. Jimo Yixuan rushed out of the vehicle, immediately spotting Maize Kai.
"Kaizhe, please help take a look. My dad was just talking at home when he suddenly fainted."
"Alright." At this moment, Maize Kai didn’t waste any time. He hurried to the ambulance and assisted the nurse in moving Jimo Chen off the car.
Jimo Yixuan’s children also rushed out of the vehicle behind them, but Maize Kai raised his hand to stop them. "Don’t crowd around! Give Uncle Jimo plenty of fresh air."
The group obediently stepped back.
"Blood pressure, pulse!" Maize Kai, while asking the nearby nurse, lifted his hand to check Jimo Chen’s pupils.
The nurse reported two numbers; Maize Kai frowned again slightly. "Take him for a brain CT scan first."
Tong Airui pulled Yi Luowa aside, clearing a path for the moving stretcher.
Jimo Yixuan looked toward him; Tong Airui nodded politely. "Good day, Big Brother."
"Airui! I didn’t expect us to meet here." Jimo Yixuan shook his head helplessly.
Tong Airui said somberly, "With Kaizhe here, Uncle Jimo will be fine."
"Yes, he’ll definitely be fine." Jimo Yixuan nodded heavily. His children greeted Tong Airui briefly, then followed their grandfather into the hospital lobby.
"Big Brother, I’ll go with you," Tong Airui said politely, gesturing for him to move ahead.
"You’re so busy—no need to come. We have enough family here, and Xiao Wu will be arriving soon too." Jimo Yixuan smiled but suddenly seemed to remember something. "Your friend hasn’t been discharged yet, right?"
"Not yet."
"Then you’d best get back to your work. We’ll take care of this." Jimo Yixuan glanced at Yi Luowa and quickly chased after his family.
Once Jimo Yixuan had left, Tong Airui led Yi Luowa to another elevator.
"Who is he? Someone old enough to be your dad, and yet you call him Big Brother!" Yi Luowa asked curiously once inside the elevator.
"He owns this hospital. The sick guy is Coldfield’s brother-in-law. I call Coldfield Uncle, so naturally, I call his nephew Big Brother," Tong Airui explained with a slight frown. "Everything’s happening at once—Uncle Jimo fell ill. I’ve got to let my dad know about this."
"Then you should call Uncle and tell him."
After exiting the elevator, Tong Airui pulled out his phone, dialed Long Che’s number, and relayed what was going on. Long Che responded with a simple "Hmm" before hanging up.
Tong Airui stared at the phone and curled his lips. "The old man still hasn’t cooled off. Let’s go check on my second uncle first, then I’ll head over and keep watch afterward."
"Why don’t you go now?"
"There won’t be any results immediately anyway. Let’s check on my second uncle first and cheer him up a bit." Tong Airui held onto Yi Luowa’s hand, and the two headed toward Yi Weiyang’s hospital room.
