Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Your master said he would raise me
Wen Xiao’ai turned over, her little belly facing up, and stretched her legs straight with her tiny paws, stretching lazily.
Then, she rubbed her eyes and stared at the unfamiliar ceiling, still not quite awake.
Where is this...?
It took a while for Wen Xiao’ai to gather her strength.
This is the Human Realm.
Ah, I thought what happened yesterday was just a dream.
She sat up cheerfully, noticing that the large bed was empty except for herself.
What was the name of that human again, Jun Sanshao? When did he leave?
She glanced outside the window, and it was already noon.
Ugh... how deeply must I have slept? I didn’t even wake up when the man left and the energy was cut off.
Jumping off the bed, Wen Xiao’ai landed firmly on the ground.
After a night’s rest replenishing her energy, Wen Xiao’ai felt completely rejuvenated.
She walked toward the door with tiny steps, the door was ajar, probably left unclosed on purpose by the man that morning.
Quite considerate.
Leaving the room, she checked the corridors on both sides and tried to sense the location of that energy.
But there was no trace of it, it seems that Jun Sanshao had gone out.
No problem, we’ll continue tonight.
Walking down the long corridor, Wen Xiao’ai hopped down the stairs with a lightness to her step.
Compared to last night’s exhausting climb that left her tired as a dog, she now seemed like an entirely different cat.
"Where did this cat come from?"
A female voice rang out, startling Wen Xiao’ai who was focused on descending the stairs.
She lost her balance and tumbled down from the last step.
"Ah, are you okay?" The maid who just spoke rushed over, putting down her work to pick Wen Xiao’ai up from the ground.
"Are you hurt?" the maid asked, holding Wen Xiao’ai up to check carefully.
"Meow~"
Wen Xiao’ai didn’t like being held by others, but knowing this human meant her no harm and was worried about her injuries, she let herself be held.
"What breed is this cat? Why does it have pink and white fur? I’ve never seen this before, it’s too cute!" The maid was smitten with the sudden appearance of this little kitten.
This color, those big eyes, utterly irresistible.
That tiny meow, melting hearts left and right.
"How did you get in here? Our master doesn’t like pets, although I like you very much, I can’t keep you," the maid said as she started walking towards the main door while holding the cat.
"I’ll let you out, don’t come back here. If Jun Sanshao sees you, your life might be in danger."
Doesn’t like pets?
Who says so, your master clearly does.
He’s just reserved, likes the obedient ones, and is too embarrassed to let you know he keeps such a cute pet.
"Meow~" Wen Xiao’ai struggled in her arms.
Where are you taking me, let go of me.
"Shh, be quiet. I’m letting you out, remember to go home, don’t let the bad people catch you."
Wen Xiao’ai felt a bit moved; was she too lucky? All the humans she had met so far were quite kind to her.
But she didn’t want to leave just yet.
"Xiaocha, what are you holding?" The maid, just stepping out of the villa, ran into Qing Yi and Bai Yi, who were carrying a bunch of stuff.
"Brother Bai Yi, Brother Qing Yi," Xiaocha, the maid, shielded the cat in her arms as if afraid they would snatch it away.
"Meow~" Wen Xiao’ai, recognizing Qing Yi’s voice, struggled to poke her head out from Xiaocha’s embrace.
Save me, she’s sending me away, but I don’t want to leave yet.
Your master said he would keep me.
