Chapter 988 - Chapter 988 Chapter 988 Hematic God Sabre
Chapter 988: Chapter 988 Hematic God Sabre Chapter 988: Chapter 988 Hematic God Sabre Kunlun’s facilities are indeed comprehensive, including a special “Spell Execution Ground” for testing cultivation techniques.
Visitors who have been to Danxia Heaven Minor World don’t find it astonishing how many Spirit Stones Kunlun maintains for such a grand scene–spiritual energy circulates with minimal use of Spirit Stones.
However, Guan Shanyue was very curious and thus asked aloud, “Maintaining Kunlun like this must cost a lot of Spirit Stones, right?”
Yu Baiyi hesitated in response, “Spirit Stones… not really too many, Kunlun can sustain mainly because of fortune and Earth Veins.”
“Earth Veins?” Qing Xiaozi, Dong Zenghong, Zhang Dongyuan, Feng Tianyang, Tang Wenji, Yang Yuxin, and others turned to look at Feng Jun–they all knew that Master Feng had some research on Earth Veins.
Many people turning their heads made Yu Baiyi also glance over, then he surprisingly remarked, “Master Feng… could it be you are proficient in Earth Veins?”
Feng Jun calmly replied, “Just a little research, basically understanding six out of seven aspects–not so proficient as to understand all.”
Yu Baiyi smiled, thinking to himself I’ll believe that when pigs fly, that’s what everyone says.
There are indeed many places worth visiting in Kunlun, and unknowingly it was already night.
The Formation was not yet repaired and the secret realm was still exposed to the sky, snow kept increasing rather than stopping.
Inside the Kunlun secret realm, it was as warm as spring, yet the fierce mountain wind blew away much of the warmth, leading to some accumulation of snow, and even at night, the visibility was good.
At this time, Kunlun could only invite everyone to stay–though they did have guest rooms, they couldn’t recall when they last hosted external visitors.
Some felt honored, yet Tang Wenji straightforwardly declined to stay at Kunlun, stating that her visit was merely to broaden her horizons and she would not forget the grievances between Maoshan and Kunlun.
Zhuang Haoyun immediately voiced his agreement, declaring he wouldn’t eat a grain of Kunlun’s rice nor drink a drop of Kunlun’s water!
At this point, the tour group split–the ones staying at Kunlun included Wangwu, Wudang, Mount Wuyi, and Luofu Mountain, while those staying in the snowy fields were Maoshan, Magu Mountain, Mount Taibai, Mount Qingcheng, the heirs of Ghost Valley, Autumn Daoist, and so on…
This wasn’t a matter of factional division, Wudang Elder Guo had a good relationship with Feng Jun; this was just due to varying degrees of closeness with Kunlun among the different Daoist sects.
Feng Jun also chose to stay in the snowy fields, but as soon as they started cooking, Qing Xiaozi and others shamelessly came over to freeload.
Kunlun disciples watched and secretly shook their heads: Letting these ants freely come and go, is this still Kunlun?
Yet, this truly wasn’t the Kunlun of old; in the dead of night, the grand elder was still busy with disciples setting up Formation Pillars and adjusting the Formation, much like construction workers doing night shifts.
Actually, camping in the wilderness was quite cold, especially since Feng Jun’s group included several mortals; even though they had a well-lit fire, electric heaters, and thick blankets, it was still a night of over thirty degrees below zero!
Eventually, Feng Jun escorted them back to the county town, and early next morning, he rushed back alone.
When he arrived, the grand formation was still not repaired, but the good news was that although the snow had stopped at midnight, it had started again now.
As Feng Jun entered Kunlun, it was the grand elder who came to greet him–Elder Tang had already completed the main work, leaving some minor adjustments to the lower-rank disciples.
The grand elder led him into a small courtyard, “This is where I live; I’ve also pulled up a list of Kunlun magical instruments for you… see if you like any of them.”
Feng Jun looked at him, smiling mischievously, and asked, “Are they all of the Demon-Sealing Pagoda type?”
The Demon-Sealing Pagoda was the first magic artifact compensated by Kunlun, this thing… how should I put it? Indescribable!
Judging by its name, the Demon-Sealing Pagoda is a good thing, capable of suppressing demonic fiends, and the cultivator using it doesn’t need a very high cultivation level–upon spotting a demonic fiend, just throw it out, and thud… it suppresses the demon.
However, in reality, this artifact, much like the Leifeng Pagoda, suppresses the demon but then the artifact cannot be moved, stuck in place along with the demon, and if anyone moves it, approximately it’s like “Discussing the Collapse of Leifeng Pagoda”.
Thus, this artifact is somewhat similar to a sealing talisman, the difference being that the talisman is single-use, while after the Demon-Sealing Pagoda suppresses a demon, if a highly skilled person from the sect could be invited to kill the demon, the Pagoda can be retrieved and reused.
A rather useless artifact, right? Useless indeed, could you expect anything better from an artifact willingly offered by Kunlun?
But this artifact has another use; after suppressing a demon, if you inlay the Spirit Stone into the pagoda, using the spiritual energy provided by the Spirit Stone, a cultivator can carry the Demon-Sealing Pagoda around–the inability to move the pagoda before was due to insufficient spiritual energy.
Thus, Kunlun offering this Demon-Sealing Pagoda to Feng Jun wasn’t meant to discomfort him–Kunlun has limited Spirit Stones, we can’t afford to deploy this Demon-Sealing Pagoda, but Master Feng, don’t you have plenty of Spirit Stones? So we’re giving you a Demon-Sealing Pagoda.
“But Feng Jun really isn’t interested in the Demon-Sealing Pagoda, for a simple reason–it’s a Magic Artifact!”
“Magic Artifacts are used to deal with Qi Refinement Realm demons. He himself is already an ascended being. Encountering a Qi Refinement Realm foe, a simple wave of hand would end them. What use would he have for this Magic Artifact?”
“It will only be useful if Luohua produces another Qi Refinement Realm practitioner in the future; he can then pass the Demon-Sealing Pagoda to them. If they encounter a Qi Refinement Realm opponent, they can seal them–but to kill would require his own intervention.”
“For Kunlun Disciples, even if they suppress a Qi Refinement Realm demon, it’s not easy to find someone to kill it, because there are no figures at the ascension stage in Kunlun.”
“For these reasons, Kunlun considers the Demon-Sealing Pagoda nothing more than a spare rib, useful but not critical. However, for Luohua Manor, it has its uses–after all, Luohua is not lacking in Spiritual Stones, nor ascended Cultivators.”
“However, in the eyes of Feng Jun, this Magic Artifact is somewhat a trap. He would accept it for the sake of his disciples, but cannot claim that it’s an excellent artifact–throughout the entire Earth Realm, only Luohua might think it’s pretty good.”
“The Elder didn’t dare argue, and handed over a list, ‘Please have a look at these Magic Artifacts, revered Feng.'”
“Feng Jun glanced over them from top to bottom, and with a smile that was not quite a smile, he looked at him, ‘Is this all the Magic Artifacts?'”
“The Elder, apprehensive, forcefully nodded, ‘Yes, these are the Magic Artifacts collected by Kunlun over the past thousand years… Perhaps the Sect Leader has some more, but that’s beyond what I know.'”
“In any case, with the Sect Leader not out of seclusion, he was the ideal scapegoat.”
“Dumb enough to trust you! Feng Jun laughed indifferently, not taking it seriously and started to read the list.”
“However, after looking over it left and right, he couldn’t pick a single artifact that truly suited him. There was always something dissatisfactory.”
“For instance, the Illusion Heart Bead is decent, but… what does it mean by ‘there’s a certain chance the opponent may wake up in the process’?”
“The Puppet Stone is also not bad, but… might the caster or the target blow their brains out?”
“Actually, the first item on the list is quite intimidating–the Hematic God Sabre.”
“The Hematic God Sabre is formidable, notoriously fearsome in ancient times, rumored to be able to slay Emergence Stage experts. However, this Hematic God Sabre from Kunlun is just an imitation, not even a high-quality one–just a Magic Artifact. It might not necessarily kill a Qi Refinement practitioner cleanly.”
“But no matter what, this is the Hematic God Sabre, and for Qi Refinement Stage it is almost certainly lethal.”
“Seeing him staring at the Hematic God Sabre, the Elder stepped closer, ‘This item is indeed sharp, but… we think it too harmful to cosmic harmony, hence no disciple wants to use it.'”
“Feng Jun looked at him impassively, ‘Are you saying you did not use this against me in our last battle?'”
“During his last battle with Kunlun, he was still a Qi-Refining Practitioner, but could this thing… really have hurt him?”
“‘Not exactly,’ the Elder replied with a smile, ‘This weapon brings a river of blood when used, which is inappropriate. It is only used in battles against Demonic Fiends.'”
“Feng Jun blinked, asking in a deep voice, ‘You don’t wish for me to choose this, do you?'”
“This was truly Kunlun’s intention. The Hematic God Sabre is well-known, many are aware of it. If Kunlun denied having it, it would be like lying to Feng Jun again.”
“If in the future during battle, Kunlun uses this weapon and Feng Jun, angered, strikes back, he might actually wipe out the Kunlun Daoist heritage.”
“Therefore, this artifact had to be listed, but deep down… the Elder truly did not want Feng Jun to pick it.”
“Kunlun is broadly known for being overbearing, yet they are after all a proper Daoist Sect and have maintained many bottom lines, just like the Elder said, the Hematic God Sabre is a nefarious and evil thing, not to be used unless absolutely necessary.”
“He worried that should this artifact end up with Feng Jun, Feng would not care as much and would use it directly, or let his disciples use it.”
“This is really normal; Luohua Manor is indeed powerful, but lacking historical depth and not weighed down by reputation. If they were to use the Hematic God Sabre, Kunlun couldn’t really blame them–after all, Magic Artifacts aren’t inherently evil; it all depends on how they are used.”
“The Elder even worried that should Luohua produce another Qi Refinement practitioner, and they use the Hematic God Sabre against a Kunlun Disciple — actually, if that Butterfly refined the Hematic God Sabre, even Yu Baiyi might be in danger.”
“He couldn’t help but worry for Kunlun Disciples, so he nodded at Feng Jun’s words, ‘Revered Feng, with your profound abilities, you are not afraid of the Hematic God Sabre, but my Kunlun disciples couldn’t withstand it.'”
“After pondering a moment, Feng Jun smiled and nodded, ‘I understand your concern. Let’s do this… I won’t take a second artifact. This Hematic God Sabre will still belong to Kunlun, but my Luohua disciples can come and borrow it if they need it.'”
“‘That would be for the best,’ the Elder sighed in relief and nodded, ‘I didn’t realize before, but it seems you are quite reasonable, Master Feng. It appears that Kunlun’s attitudes might need some adjustment.'”
“Feng Jun just smiled, thinking to himself that he was overestimating him, as he also liked the Hematic God Sabre, but… using it in the Mobile Phone Realm might cause others to think he’s an Evil Cultivator, bringing unnecessary trouble.”
