Dimitri’s brows furrowed in confusion. "What?"

"I won’t give him an easy death," she clarified, her voice sharp with conviction. "Draven, Mira, the Empress... they all see me as a threat. They want me gone. And yes... I want to see them fall. But not quickly. Not easily. I want them to ruin themselves with their own hands."

Dimitri’s eyes searched hers, a mixture of awe and unease flickering in his gaze. "What exactly are you planning?"

Sorayah’s lips curled into a smirk, sharp, calculated, and cold.

"The Luna Empress has already dug her own grave," she said, each word laced with seriousness. "That miraculous pregnancy she flaunts around the palace? It’s a lie. Even if the Empress Dowager wants to believe it’s some divine gift, we know better. There’s no child. There never was."

She paused.

"So let her keep pretending," she continued, her voice low. "Let her lie, commit more atrocities, grow arrogant in her schemes. The more desperate she becomes to destroy me, the more entangled she’ll become. She’ll draw Draven and Mira in...she won’t be able to help herself. And when she does, we’ll destroy them all together."

Dimitri stared at her, stunned by the ruthless brilliance of her strategy.

"They will unite out of hatred," she said. "Hatred for me. And that’s exactly what I want. Their alliance will be their undoing."

"As for Draven give him an official post," Sorayah said with icy certainty. "Let the court see your mercy. Say he didn’t commit treason, since you hadn’t been crowned when he tried to seize the throne. Frame it as an act of youthful foolishness. People will admire your grace for sparing him, but they’ll also remain cautious of his ambitions."

She raised up her head, her gaze locking with Dimitri. "Draven won’t change. He’ll keep scheming. The three of them will get united like I’ve said before."

Dimitri’s expression hardened, his jaw tightening.

"And when the Empress falls," Sorayah concluded, her voice low and deliberate, "the other two will crumble with her. That’s how you kill three birds with one stone."

She let the silence stretch between them, her words hanging heavy in the air.

"I’m right, aren’t I?" she added at last, her tone almost teasing. "Mira is probably already on her way to see the Empress. It won’t take much for them to bond. After all, they share one powerful thing in common... their hatred for me. And yes no matter what happens tomorrow, don’t intervene. If I want to win the empress dowager favour then I have to do it by myself as not only would her influence be of help now but also in the future."

Dimitri stared at her for a long, unreadable moment. Then, slowly, a faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

"I’ll do as you wish, Sorayah," he said softly. "I support you."

Without another word, he pulled her into a tight, protective embrace.

Meanwhile, just as Sorayah had predicted, Mira made her way straight to Mellisa’s private chambers.

A court maid leaned close to Mellisa, who was reclining on her feather-stuffed bed, one hand gently stroking her stomach in slow, repetitive motions.

"Your Highness, Concubine Mira is here to see you," the maid whispered respectfully.

"She?" Mellisa scoffed, not bothering to hide her disdain. Her fingers continued their idle circles on her belly. "What could she possibly want from me now?"

There was a pause before Mellisa gave a dismissive wave of her hand. "Invite her in. Let’s hear what she’s come to say into my ears."

The maid nodded quickly, disappearing from the room. Moments later, she returned with Mira trailing behind her, head bowed.

"Greetings, Your Highness," Mira said formally, dipping into a deep bow. Her voice was steady, but her posture betrayed a hint of nervous anticipation.

Mellisa’s eyes narrowed, her gaze assessing the other woman from head to toe.

"Stand," she commanded coldly, waving her fingers. "And speak. Why have you come?"

Mira straightened slowly, meeting Mellisa’s gaze with an almost defiant flicker in her eyes.

"It’s because of how that lowly human disgraced you in court today," Mira voiced out, her tone trembling with barely-contained fury as she dropped to her knees once again. "The imperial healers never said she couldn’t take other medicine alongside the one prescribed by him...that useless human. She defiled you, Your Highness. She doesn’t appreciate your kindness. That’s why she lied."

Mira looked up, desperation gleaming in her eyes.

"His Royal Highness, the Alpha Emperor, is in her room. He’s definitely spending time there... now, of all times."

"Oh, really?" Mellisa responded, a smirk still plastered on her lips as her hand continued to rub slow, possessive circles over her stomach. "Then she’ll have to explain herself in the harem hall tomorrow. I want to see what new lie she spins this time. You can go now. I need to relax."

Mira bowed her head again, her voice etched with determined seriousness. "I came here today to let Your Highness know I’m ready to work with you. As long as it’s to bring Sorayah down, I’ll do whatever is necessary."

"To bring Sorayah down?" Mellisa repeated, scoffing sharply. "Just what are you saying now? Aren’t you the Alpha’s official wife before? The one who actually lives in the same manor with that useless slave? And yet, you never managed to bring her down. Instead, she became a sex slave... and now a royal concubine."

"That’s only because His Highness favors her," Mira replied, bitterness lacing her voice. "He’s always in her room. Always. But I know with Your Highness’s help, we can deal with that slut together. There are many ways someone can meet their end in the palace."

"Hmmm," Mellisa hummed thoughtfully, her smirk growing sharper. "To prove your loyalty, let’s see what you’re truly willing to do. Now that all of you have been granted concubine titles, and any one of you could be elevated to consort... let’s see how you handle Sorayah now that you all share equal rank."

She paused meaningfully before continuing, her tone slow and cutting.

"With the way His Highness, the Alpha Lord, favors that lowlife, I’m afraid she might be promoted to Primary Concubine before any of you. And once that happens, you will be beneath her. But right now? While you’re still equals....it’s the perfect time to sow discord. You don’t even need to kill her with your own hands. Those other two concubines might do it for you."

Mira’s eyes widened in sudden understanding.

"Thank you for the direction, Your Highness," she said with a satisfied smile curling on her lips. "I truly appreciate it."

"I’ll help you tomorrow in the harem hall," Mellisa said smoothly. "All you need to do is start the conversation. The rest will unfold naturally. Women grow jealous easily, especially when an emperor begins favoring a concubine they view as beneath them. It’s only a matter of time before they start plotting against her."

"I’ll do just that, Your Highness. Thank you very much," Mira replied, bowing low before she finally rose and made her way out of Mellisa’s chambers.

As the door closed behind her, Mellisa turned to her long-time companion and nanny, her expression darkening.

"Nanny Peace... is Draven still locked up?" she asked coldly. "What exactly is the Alpha Emperor planning?"

"I truly don’t know, Your Highness," Nanny Peace answered with a troubled sigh. "His Highness Draven is still confined in the imperial dungeon. No one knows what the Alpha Emperor is thinking. And since Draven isn’t the biological son of the Empress Dowager, she hasn’t reacted or shown the slightest concern."

Mellisa’s face was etched with fury. "How could Draven come up with a plan and not inform me?!"

She slammed her hand against the bedframe, her voice rising in anger and disbelief. "After all the years we’ve spent together... all the times I stood by him, shared myself with him! Does he have no regard for me at all?!"

"I believe he didn’t want to trouble Your Highness with the matter," Nanny Peace replied gently, her tone measured. "Perhaps he thought it would put you at risk. Besides, asking your family for help would only expose the true nature of your relationship with him. That could destroy everything."

"Still," Mellisa muttered, clenching her jaw as her eyes burned with frustration, "he could’ve warned me. We could’ve come up with something together."

She fell back onto the bed with a deep, angry sigh.

"What a waste of good fat long member between his legs," she murmured bitterly, her voice low and full of resentment.

Nanny Peace blinked in stunned silence, unsure how to respond.

Mellisa continued, almost talking to herself. "Judging from the way this new Emperor thinks... he’s not going to spare Draven. That man has ice in his veins. And now, I’m back to being the lonely Empress, the one whose husband only touches her when she drugs him."

She let out a bitter laugh, but it quickly faded into a sigh of hopelessness.

"And the only man who satisfies me... the one who pretends to be mad just to stay in the palace for me... he’s about to be executed. How pathetic!"
