Chapter 88: The gift.

Early morning, Sydney was already up and about in the kitchen preparing the foods for the children. Today was the day they were bringing in the little ones. She had made many friends from them despite her mate’s warnings.

"You’ve done enough Sydney..why don’t you rest for a while?" Shawn who had a piece of cloth wrapped around his eyes asked as he directed her out of the kitchen.

"I still want to work! You’ve been kicking me out of the kitchen since earlier....!" Sydney complained She was covered in sweat from working hard. Their hearts ached to see her in that state!

Titan came and took her from Shawn’s hands since he still had alot to do. "Stop being stubborn." Titan softly reprimanded her and dragged her up to the second floor. "I’ll help you wash up." He said so naturally. The basin with warm water was already prepared in the room by Ken.

Sydney didn’t complain anymore and got out of her knee length sleeveless dress and sneakily jumped into he bathtub while Titan rummaged in her stone closet to find what she’d be watering today. Hearing the sound of water splashing, he laughed and hissed. "So silly!" he mused and walked back to her side.

Sydney hadn’t expected her muscles to be so painful from doing nothing. She sighed and relaxed in the warm bath.

Feeling better?" Titan asked as he went to kneel behind her. He helped wrap her hair up in an up do bun exposing her slender neck where his mating mark coiled around her possessively. He loved the look of it.

"Are you that happy?" Sydney asked feeling his silly grin. She didn’t even have to look back at him.

"Is that even a question?" He asked back as his cold fingers traced his mark. "We’ll be out today and everyone will get to see that I’m yours...how can I not he happy?" he laughed.

You are right ..everyone will see and know..." she murmured softly. She felt like she would be walking around parading her hickies Infront of the world. Five marks on her...she was really bold!

After washing up and dressing up in a white fur tube top and black fur pants, Titan carried her down to the sitting room where the others were busy moving out the necessary foods Sydney had prepared her friends.

She looked around with a satisfied smile on her face but Ken wasn’t there. "Where’s ken?" she asked as she walked to the front door.

"He went to help the others moving the young males to the home." Caden replied. He walked over and planted a soft kiss on his mating mark that was on full display. Today was the day! All of them were excited over one fact, Sydney would go out and show the world that she had finally and officially accepted them.

It was around 9 on earth time that everything was set and Sydney and her mates were the only ones left.

A commotion broke out from outside and many gathered around.

The falcon king and his group were in high in the sky letting out screeches. This parade of theirs attracted alot of attention from many beastmen who were going about their business. They stopped to see what was going and others had been following the group for a while now.

Carlos who was out on morning patrols frowned and wondered what the Falcon king was scheming again. It was troublesome dealing with the likes of him.

"Should we go see?" One of the guards retuning with Carlos from the morning patrols asked as he too was curious to see what was going on. "Oh ..they are stopping at the Prince’s home!" He exclaimed.

Carlos didn’t want to go there ever since his last encounter with Sydney but seeing the falcon king, he knew he needed to be there to protect her. He took a different turn and went to Caden’s residence.

Sydney had been getting ready to leave but the commotion made not only Ash but the others fromn too.

Isn’t that the falcon clan?" Sydney asked.

"It is!" Caden replied with conviction and went out to see what was going on. Sydney followed right after him but Titan didn’t let her walk far before he hoisted her into his arms and followed after Ash whose huge frame sheilded her from the sight of others.

Two warrior falcons flapped their majestic wings and slowly, lowered the carriage like establishment.

Sydney who had just come out couldn’t help peeping. Was that a gift? She wondered. It looked nice but the weaving was a little unsightly to say. Titan pulled her hack and his her small face.

what?" She asked begrudgingly.

"Stop peeking!" Titan replied but had a straight face. Why was there a stench of a mer-female? What was this bird’s agenda?!

"Falcon king..what brings you to my territory unannounced?" Caden asked once he was out side. They were really daring to even enter his courtyard.

I’m here to speak to the Snake lord. Eagle prince..please mind your business." Falcon king spoke so smugly but his eyes were back at the beautiful house. He could see that all the wretched female’s chosen males were present. This was a good time to show her that each and everyone of them could be snatched from her and she’d do nothing about it.

"Are you here for a fight?" Caden asked. There was indeed a difference in positions in the city of Beasts but that didn’t mean he was going to allow anyone to insult him Infront of his mate and more so in his own home

"You are wasting precious time." The falcon king spoke arrogantly and walked forward into the courtyard paying no regard to Caden. He could see Titan who was standing behind Ash and he knew that the female was somewhere hidden behind those men. Just like she should.

"Greetings city lord!" The falcon king didn’t forget to recognise the city lord but soon shifted his attention to Titan. "Snake lord!" he called out with confidence. "It’s been a while since we last met! And I’m here to apologize for my rude behaviour from that time. I hope you can let that matter pass." He said feigning real remorseful emotions but even an idiot could clearly see that smugness in him. Like had had already won!

"So?" Titan’s cold voice rang out as he stepped out from behind Ash with Sydney seated on his arm. She gestured for him to let her down and he did without a word.

Falcon king didn’t give much regards to Sydney’s presence, she was from the enemy side and getting her to join them was futile but he knew she had not mated with Titan. This was her worst mistake! "I brought a present of reconciliation to you today in the presence of all beasts of this mighty city. I hope you’ll like it." he spoke out loudly and the falcon kind screeched.

Many beastmen who had already noticed that it was a female in that weird enclosure couldn’t wait to see what she looked like.

Carlos who was standing at the top of the roof in his beast form had his eyes locked on Sydney’s upper body that was marked with mating marks. He felt his chest tightne but said nothing. He looked back at the falcon king and felt sorry for him. He didn’t know whether he was blind or simply stupid. How could he bring a female to mated male?

Titan didn’t say anything in return but watched the falcon king coldly. The Falcon king didn’t mind the cold temperment that was directed at him and took this as his cue. He signaled for his warriors to draw open the skin curtains. The fresh scent of the sea and it’s breeze filled the courtyard. It was refreshing and calming to the mind Sydney loved the scent alot!

"I travelled far and wide to find this female for you. As a lord, I know how tough it is to find a mate and even if you did, some female’s wouldn’t know how to treasure you properly." he begun his speech and Sydney felt her ears bleed. What?!!!

He didn’t mention Sydney’s name but it was as clear as day whom he meant. Though many beastmen felt that his words were insults, who in the city didn’t know that she had hogged all the handsome and strong males to herself but hadn’t given any of them status.

Coupled up with her brother who was treating the city of Beasts like his own and showing an attitude, some were displeased with Sydney

Sydney who didn’t expect to be dragged in this matter. "....!!!" She was speechless.

Marina heard the Falcon king’s words and felt that smug. She couldn’t wait for her turn to make that appearance that she had imagined all night.

"Please..." Falcon king’s cue resonated and Marina slowly came out into the open. She was clad in the best merclan sea weed silk with pearl ornaments with colourful shells around her exposed waist and feet. She was pale but didn’t have the clear white skin.

Hearing he had traveled far and wide, many had been expectant and when Marina made her appearance, many were stunned. Sydney raised her chin high seeing how everyone was dumbfounded seeing her. That was it! She knew they had never seen a female as pretty as herself!
