Chapter 50: Chapter 48 In danger.

Another day saw its end in a gloomy state. Fear of what may come to be overwhelmed Sydney to the point that her whole body lacked energy to even move. It was already late but neither of the lion brothers had returned, she grew uneasy.

Looking around the cave to see what things she had with her, she opted to leave this place on her own. Reliance on others was making her weak and vulnerable but if she went through all this on her own, maybe she’d likely find help along the way without drawing attention.

She rummaged through her bag and picked out a dark brown skin pouch. It was one of her secret weapons, a beast repellant. She had discovered this plant when she was out food hunting before they left the cave. The bright yellow fruit hanging in clusters covered a wide range of space in the forest and while she was there, she noticed something. A wild tiger that had been keeping out an eye to have her for a meal kept its distance not daring to get close to this cluster and having decided to remain here till the brothers found her, she realised that even the brothers dared not come close and were at a distance beckoning her to go to them.

She carried these along with the leaves and everything she could and went home. Luckily, she fully experimented on the brothers and confirmed her speculations.

Night fully drew in and Sydney curled up on the nest in discomfort at her lower abdomen. She hadn’t had much to eat and she didn’t want to at the moment. She thought the discomfort of her body was due to the stressful circumstances she was in and didn’t think much of it, she went to sleep.

The next morning.

The whole colony was covered in a sweet scent of a female in heat. It was indeed the mating season but this was by far the sweetest scent they had smelt ever since they were abandoned and it was far different from the usual scents of the females they had in the colony.

Boulevard whose chambers had shifted to where the females lived stood up and left the chambers along with three other stray beastmen with him.

Where is that scent coming from?! Who is so daring to hide a female from us and keep them all to himself!!!?" one of the stray beastmen bellowed out. He was so pissed! When was it that they got to smell such fresh scents!?

The situation in the colony was already bad as all the strays ran amok like headless chicken I search for the source of the scent as it was all over the colony.

In the forest, Sydney ignored the stabbing pain of cramps in her lower belly and clasped eldest’s fur for dear life as he sprinted off like mad.

They had left youngest back at the colony with the skin hide covered in her blood to spread it all over the place to buy some time so that they could get as far away from this place as possible.

Eldest who was confused by this scent as it was his first time chose to block out his emotions and listen to Sydney who was both in pain and in danger. She had asked them to take her away and since they had been checking out their escape routes the whole of last night and came back very late, despite their fatigue, they did as she asked.

Having left the colony at day break, it was now sunrise and the forest was bathed with the morning sunlight and dew kept falling off the leaves. Birds sung the morning songs but all Sydney could hear was the gusts of wind that blew past her ears as Eldest ran.

Her stomach kept cramping and back hurt terribly. She groaned endlessly from the pain her face going pale every passing minute. Her body turned jelly from pain most especially during her periods and while she had access to pain killer back on earth, the situation has gone bad for her.

She always dutifully kept track of her periods all the time and that was no different to when she came to the beast world. She had been keen on every single detail but was caught off guard last night. She knew she needed to leave and didn’t hesitate to do so. While both brothers were still unable to attain their human form, their reaction told her hell, luckily she could still get through them before they lost it and whisked her away in time.

As Eldest came to the end of the large forest, he felt the person he was carrying on his back slip off. Caught off guard, he attempted to slow down but was unable to as Sydney hit the ground and rolling over countless times.

[Sydney!!] Eldest was scared witless and stopped in time to come back to her but she was in bad shape both from the fall and pain. Her body was shaking like a leaf against a raging storm to the point that her teeth were chattering too.

The green snake that found Sydney raced against death to find his lord but the group had taken a different route from the one they had initially followed. He grew so frustrated that he kept letting out hissing sounds to find snake beastmen in the vicinity and luckily for him after alot of attempts found a three rank snake beastman.

"Take me to the lord!" He hissed. "I’ve found the female!!" he explained in urgency.

The snake beastman didn’t hesitate and picked up the snake and took his half beast form and sped off to direction their lord was at which was the opposite of where Sydney currently was.

Caden whose wings had gotten better didn’t hesitate to take flight and search from above.

The snake beastman who was holding the little snake also found that it’d be hard to catch up and sent out signals to alert the others to inform the lord to stop advancing forward. And not long, Titan got the message and ahlted in his steps.

"What’s wrong?!" Ken asked.

"A snake has found Sydney. We are going in the wrong direction." Titan said and the group immediately turned over to head back.

Ash took on his beast form and so did everyone else and they ran to the direction Sydney was said to be.

After ensuring that the whole colony was in hazy madness, youngest left the colony immediately and sprinted off without further ado. His brother had told him where to meet after all this was done and he was up and about to get there as soon as possible.

Not long after he had left the Colony when Boulevard noticed that the small male had gone missing and when he called for orange eyes who was in charge of keeping eyes on him, he was reported to have left the colony before the break of dawn.

Boulevard went crazy when it dawned on him. It had been twenty years since he established this colony and this was the first time he was told how stupid he was without it being actually said. That small male was a female!!!!

In an hour, Titan and the group had caught up with the small snake who explained everything in the best way he could to the snake lord.

Sydney was last spotted in a strays colony last night and only one beastman knew she was a female and he threatened to expose her.

Ken, Shawn, Caden and Ash’s ears ring when they heard where Sydney was.

Titan had a similar expression when he learnt of where Sydney was. He knew characters of strays a little too well. She was in danger!

Which exact cave is she in?!" Ash asked stiffly.

"She’s in one of the colony leader’s cave." the green snake hissed.

Ken shuddered in fear and looked at Ash for a plan.

Eldest nudged Sydney to get back on his back. The place where she had been seating was covered in a large patch of red. She whimpered as she dragged herself to get back on Eldest’s back but she couldn’t feel her legs and her hands were trembling so badly that she was hardly keeping herself up.

You go....try to find help. I can’t move anymore..I’m in so much pain." She had been holding back her tears but she couldn’t anymore as she grew more and more helpless. She was covered in a small sheet of sweat and the best way to clam the pain was the curl herself up and any attempts to straighten her body brought her to hell. She remained curled and begged Eldest to go find help.

Orange eyes who had been keeping guard from behind also caught up and saw the state the female was in. She’s right...go call for help! I’ll stay here and protect her." he said after shifting back to his human form and cradled the coiled up Sydney.

Eldest growled in anger as he didn’t trust this beastman who was completely no good new. [ You go look for help!!] he growled and bit at Sydney’s skin coat amd dragged her from the beastman’s arms. He brought her over to his side and sat his huge body wrapping around her in a position where jer back was pressed against the lion’s hot belly
