Spirit forest.

The sun was setting steadily behind the beast mountain range that covered thousands of square miles.

The surrounding area was desolate and they eyes could see far away.

Red slithered out of a small cave opening and looked at the sky with a forlorn look. "It’s already been the second week. Why’s he in a coma again?" He sighed heavily, his heart troubled but mind frozen.

With one look back into the cave, he slithered off to go hunt.

Hey...did you hear? News came back that the core has reappeared." A beastman said as he tore at a large chunk of meat.

What nonsense are you spouting now? Haven’t we been together the whole time? When did such news reach you without our notice?" The other rebuked harshly.

I’m being serious!!!"

Serious my ass! Eat your meat already!!" Another harshly snapped and slapped the beastman’s head hard.

Aggrieved, the one who hoped to enjoy their meal over idle talk pouted. Then...how about the appearance of the golden snake?" He asked and everyone cast him a look that could kill.

"Are you stupid or what? Isn’t that the reason we came to this desolate place in the first place? We all know it!!!"

Just ignore him. He’ll shut up of you dont encourage him further." The leader of the group said coldly and everyone swallowed their words.

"But leader, the legends say that the golden scales snake is a formidable existence, will be able to take it down?"

Whether or not will be when we meet it. We are not far from them. According to that tiger clan’s words, I can affirm that he is in this area." The leader said confidently.

He sat in a roguish manner on a tree trunk as the fire continued to crackle harzadously.

Red who had finished hunting saw a fire flicker in the distance. He frowned and wanted to go see which spirit beast would light a fire but his heart told him not to bother. He battled over this for a while before finally deciding to go check them out. When he was close, he naturally heard their conversation and he was stunned.

Hehe... fellows, how do you do? Mond if I join you? I’m hungry!!" Red slitherdd over and sat himself down. His eyes looked around and spotted the prey they were muching on and he ripped off a piece for himself to eat.

All this happened before the group could get the chance to reject him but unfortunately, he had already invited himself over and his stomach kept growling so loudly that those spirit beasts wondered how many days this small guy had gone off without a meal.

Seeing him hug a piece of meat that was ten times his size, those beasts gwaffed.

Little fellow! What are you doing out in this desolate place?" The spirit beast who loved talking immediately found someone to entertain his babbling.

Me? Ah, I’m being hunted down! I fell in love with a female beast but what happened? Her other mates didn’t like me since I hung around her alot and they plotted to kill me. I’ve been running for a few weeks now. I’m sure that now I’ve thrown them off." Red said shamelessly delivering a bite on his meat.

What of you? This place is desolate, are you here to find something interesting?" Red asked not displaying his pryful nature as he focused on eating.

"You don’t need to know." The leader said coldly. "Leave once you are done eating."

Eh?" Red looked up from his piece of meat all covered on blood. "Oh..." His tongue flickered out. "Seems like we won’t be able of talking like friends." He said and opened his mouth. With a single bite, the meat entered his stomach shocking those beasts.

He could eat like that!!!!

The leader jumped from his seat with a growl. "Dragon clan!!!"

Hehe..." Red laughed and with a shake of of his body, a pair of wings broke from his body, followed by four small legs unruffling from his his belly. True true true...I didn’t expect you to have such keen eyesight." Red said, flapping his small wings and getting off the ground.

Cough.... A red flame left his mouth.

"That bone was stuck!" He winced testing out his throat feeling it was alot more comfortable now.

Those spirit beasts looked at Red like they were looking at death! Drago clan!!? Wasn’t that an extinct clan??

So are we going to talk like friends or do I have to fry you? I’m yet to have my fill!" Red snarled gluttonously.

What do you want to know?" The leader knew better. Don’t underestimate Red’s small size. Drago beastmen were the most ferocious and formidable existence in the whole of the beast world. No one knows what happened but those first beasts got into a fight which ended with the Drago clan going extinct. The remaining six first beasts had combined forces to deal with the Drago clan and as of moment, they were the only ones that stood towering over all living creatures, both spirit beasts and beastmen.

There were those that were lucky enough to fall in the same clan as those six first beasts and they enjoyed great prevailage.

Now the Drago clan was also making their presence!! What did this mean?!!

Hahaha...wise ones are good to talk with. So, why are you looking for the golden scales snake?" Red asked his head tilted to the side innocently.

We were asked to find it and take it back into the innermost regions." The leader said honestly.

Which clan? How did they know? Give me details little one, you don’t want me going hungry and cooking you, right?"

Hearing his words, all the other spirit beasts turned to their leader and looked at him to act accordingly. No one wanted to be cooked and end up in the stomach of this legendary clan.

How they knew about the golden snake, I don’t know. It was the fox clan that sent us to find the golden snake after news of his appearance outside the outer regions came to the innermost region. It’s not us, there are many others that are out hunting for him. I believe the others are yet to arrive, we arrived first and got news from the tiger clan where the snake stayed for a few days."

Oh...so it’s those cowards. Well, thank you for your information!" Red said with a huge smile. The single horn on his forehead glowed after attaining the information he needed from them. Once the light from that horn begun to spread, those beastmen fell in a daze amd before they knew it, they were dead.

The smile on Red’s face fell akd his eyes shot back to where the cave he had his Titan.

Without further delay, he gave his body another shake and a dense aura broke from him, he flapped his enormous wings and shot up into the sky with a cry.

His cry reached the heavens and shook them, even those that were at a far distance heard this cry akd chills wekt down the spines of most spirit beasts

Drago Clan territory.

In a mountain cave at the peak, a young woman looked west where the faint dragon cry came from. Her eyes glistened with tears. She stood up and ran as fast as she could.

Before she could leave the cave, a middle-aged man walked in with haste steps. They found him!!!!" The woman cried with tears of delight. My son...my son....he’s been found!!!" She cried like a baby in the arms of the man.

Mm..don’t cry. Don’t cry. I’ll go and bring him back." The man said as he patted the woman’s head to calm her down.

Bring me along!! Bring me along Taras!!" The woman looked up upon hearing his words.

Miranda. You know you can’t come with me! It’s dangerous out there! More so right now! Those clans should have been able to notice that signal and now know that we still live!" Taras said.

But my son..." Miranda refused to agree. She wanted to go!!!

He is my son too. I won’t let anything happen to him. Miranda, you have to believe me." Taras said comforting his one and only female.

Miranda wanted to continue to argue but looking at her mate’s eyes, she knew she needed to trust him. She had already waited for hundreds of years, waiting a little more wouldn’t hurt. "Mm...please bring my baby back."

"I will." Taras smiled seeing she had finally agreed to trust in him fully. He let out a sigh of relief and leaned down to kiss her soft lips.

Red looked into the distance and could only hope. After passing his signal out, he flew back to the ground and raced over to the cave where they had been resting.

Once he was there, he took on a small frame and ran into the cave with his short legs. When he entered there, Titan was still coiled around himself but his situation seemed a whole lot better. This brought him great relief
